Anyone here knows about using torrific. I'm trying to use it but cant figure how. no download link came up, just my torrent got queued for somethingTry this
Sorry, not going to quote since there's already enough text on this page lol
Going back to the point, I think I understand your way of rating and I also kind of agree with you since I strongly value the story itself.
About "spammers", I don't mind them that much. If those "spammers" present something interesting then I welcome them since they'll help me keeping entertained. Still on this topic, IMO "spammers" can be mostly considered nukiges.
Agree with you on Fate/Stay Night. I kind of got dragged sometimes.
About ideals, you're right. A ideal game for us most probably would be a game that we created ourselves (that because it's something extremely hard to find) and if we were rating other games basing on that ideal it wouldn't be fair to the rated game.
About music, I consider that it can also play a important part on keeping us entertained (or not) while reading (higurashi for example fits here), but I won't say that the music is bad because I didn't like it. It's like you said.
Well, that's what I wanted to ask because I got kind of puzzled in the beginning because of your way of rating the VNs.
Once again, thanks for answering Darzu.
Edit: I think that you would like the Muv-Luv series. Muv-Luv Alternative (the sequel of Muv-Luv) is the number 1 on rating on vndb. For now I'm playing Canvas 2 and still have four more routes to go. When I finish it I'll play Muv-Luv Alternative.
Edit 2: How about you try to complete at 100% Remember 11? It's quite a feat.

Im curious amorim who is that a picture of? Seems like a glasses version of Asakim from SRW Z series http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E-4u2dR8TTg It's Winfield. He's from the VN Demonbane.
Since you want this thread to be more lively allow me to contribute by asking you a question. Hope you don't mind.
You mentioned this:
Story: 35%(Plot, Background, Development, etc.)
Concept: 25%(Idea, Functionality, etc.)
Gameplay 20%(Options, Content, etc.)
Art: 20%(Visuals, Relativity, etc.)
Do you use this scale for ALL VN that you play or do you create exceptions in rare cases?
For example, I'll use Tsukihime since you played it (I'm going to use other VN too but you didn't play it yet according to your list). Tsukihime was released in 2000 and so, it's drawings (visuals) aren't that good. Personally, I didn't mind the visuals at all and actually though that they were kind of nice. Also, the designs of the characters seem to be expressive enough. When this happens and the story is truly very good, I put more weight of my decision on the story itself. If a game is good enough, I'll gladly forgive some flaws like those that I mentioned about the visuals (or even some others). Please note that I will still take some consideration of some aspects like art but it won't be that much.
Other example that I would use is Higurashi. The art of Higurashi made some users get demotivated from playing the game (even though there's already a patch to update some CG's / sprites) and the game itself doesn't have that much gameplay. My opinion is that the game is just so good that you won't mind the fact that there's basically no choices (well, I only got 1 choice and there's some other thing that you wouldn't call a choice). About the art, the same.
So I'll ask again. In situations like this would you forgive some (flaws?) of the game and put more weight of your decision into it's story / concept?
Thanks in advance for answering.
