You must see it this way: the subscription chapters are like the "regular" product fakku offers and the books are like bonuses to those who want to get content (legally) that wouldn't get released (legally) as part of the subscription, because the content is from before fakku got a deal with publishers or is from a magazine we don't have access to. Right now most chapters of each book release are content we previously either didn't have or were released as illegal scanlations.
I for my part am glad to being able to buy the books and would do so twice or three times a month...

And if you want to see a shitty concept, check out project h. There you must pay for the print and the digital book (which means you pay twice for exact the same) and the book quality is worse than the one of fakku. They did improve the quality of their works (at the beginning the paper was like ukrainien toilet paper), but it's still not fakku niveau (and I didn't even mention their translation and censorship policy). I bought some of their books, but only on sales were every book goes for three bucks and only because I wanted them really bad. If there was an announcment that fakku eats project h and re-releases every book they have with the fakku standard I would - to quote Rollo Lothbrok - in joy dance naked on the beach...
