America has very strong laws about whats an acceptable alcohol level, most of Europe, Australia and even Canada have way higher alcohol % in everything(not including microbreweries).
Really it's regulated by each state individually, like in Arkansas you can get Everclear (96% alc by volume) and then you have Mississippi a dry state. Of course you have Oregon which has 1 brewery per 100,000 people in the state.
We also have everclear, but like a few other states it's low proof versions. We also have moonshine whiskey which i believe it only 100 proof and not the good ol' rot gut 150proof. I use the bud light alcohol lager % for the beer since i don't drink much beer and i don't drink lager. Ale, IPA or stout if i gonna. Their like 9-13%. Just give me three fingers of scotch or diet coke and beam and im ok for a hour. I try to stay away from the shit my uncle brew in the woods. My stomach still weak.
Now never go to utah. 2% beer and only can get it in the state store. Or Van Buren, Arkansas. Dry county.
