And i suggest thou to go for ATI since they have better performance with less amount of money.
But yeah around 500-700 what-ever-usd could make you able to get an average comp.

Sounds like it could be some capacicators blown up; you can see when you look at your motherboard if they have grown up a bit.
But indeed, there could be something messed up with the bootfiles as well, but somehow i still think of the capacicators.
