Her hands stretched wide as her eyelids parted from being sealed shut. From under the strikingly yellow blanket peeked out a pair of white rabbit ears. Moments later, a certain foreign figure scurried lazily out of the bed. The bed was big, wide, and luxurious that one would think it’s the bed meant for someone such as a queen. But back to the individual who owned this luxury item – it wouldn’t be an exaggeration to call this person a gold lady. No, the more appropriate description would be: a golden rabbit-girl, perhaps? Her milky white skin bathed under the sunlight that sneaked past the body-length window of the room as she pulled herself off the comfortable large bed – her pristine form covered in rather exotic undergarments, instead of pajamas – unlike the children of the community. She felt that the pajamas were quite restrictive to wear on bed. Sometimes she’d say that its makes her feel too hot. Hence, she usually tends to prefers sleeping in the most comfortable manner possible.
The golden rabbit-eared lady looked around with her droopy eyes. The room was vividly colorful, as if like a wonderland in itself; despite being only a room.. It was surprisingly spacious – in comparison to the other available rooms in the premises – as she was quite demanding with the leader of the community – Katsumi. There were shelves topped with apparently expensive vases filled with crimson red roses, a yellow carpet with the patterning of a sunflower, over which sofas were kept in place – where she prefers to relax, or rather, laze around in – and a triangular and transparent table set before the sofas. There were plant tops in the corners that brought in a fresh and relaxing air to the environment, and the corner of the wall opposite to her bed were replaced with a full-length glass from which the warm sunlight peeked through.
After a little trip to the toilet, she slumped as she walked up to her closet; evidence that her body needed stretching up to an extent to be completely awake. Clicking it open, she found a few simple attires to pick from. Her true array of collection of clothes lied in a separate dressing room where countless dresses were hung up for display. However, the more commonly-worn costumes were stored in this very closet. Out of all the said clothes available from the selection; the glittering-long-blonde haired lady picked out a rather lucrative-looking costume to wear. The scarlet pair of pupils glimmered at the sight of the outfit. Long ago, she used to be reluctant to wearing it. Now? It felt as though it was a part of her, and she’d feel strange if she didn’t don this costume at least once in a while; it was rather fun to go out in.
Putting the wrist cuffs, the neck-collar, and the red bow tie in place; she soon pulled up the skintight leotard into place – including the pantyhose that came with web-like crisscross pattern underneath into place – all of which were black… except for the wrists and collar, anyway. A whitish-transparent material flaunted out over her rear; giving the revealing outfit a contrasting refined and regal feeling. Her cleavage showed as she stood before a mirror; there was a blue heart-shaped tattoo over her right-breast – she once considered having a similar symbol over the porcelain wonder of a face she was born with, but she wanted to keep it as clean as possible at the end of the day. To further elaborate on her appearance; her back was left bare for her peers to see, too; with only a few linings placed in a net-like – which was actually meant to keep the jet black corset in place. Soon, she slid the hairband past her tender-looking ears – there were two little holes neatly placed so that her ears could peek out past them. The headband was decorated with a lovely rose-topped black ribbon to top it off; a hair accessory, so to say. For the finale of the dress-up session – she wore a pair black heels that shined marvelously against the brilliant radiance of the sun.
With a clank; she took a step towards the big white door. But then a thought came to mind… why’d she need to go? She could just not go out, ever. Absolutely. Who needs to go out when there’s nothing particularly relaxing, or exciting to do? Indeed, there was no work scheduled for the morning, now that she pondered regarding the matter. The next moment, she allowed her body to drop over the bouncy sofa with no hesitation whatsoever. She had just went shopping yesterday, anyway – she reminded herself as she pulled her leg up over the other. She then picked up a blowpipe before breathing with it; letting out a visibly gray ethereal smoke. “Ahh, the wonders of life,” she uttered to no one in particular, relishing the golden silence hanging across the room – this was the kind of person Kin’iro was. An elegant, graceful and sagacious person, yet absolutely full of pride and sloth, accompanied by a strange habit of †˜playing’ with others. As one may have figured by now; the everyday activities such as going down to greet the others, or seeking out breakfast – was completely lost to this particular individual.
There were soon a set of knocks on the door to her room. After which, a small girl peeked into the room, “Kin’iro, you awake?”
“Good day to you, little girl. As you can see; I’m wide awake,” Kin’iro replied with a gentle smile, as she waved to her visitor with a wave of her hand before taking another deep breath from the long pipe.
“Good morning. Leala asked if you can please come downstairs for breakfast.”
“Aw. Can’t they have it delivered here? I really don’t wish to exit my room…” Kin’iro replied, apparently hinting gloom and sadness to the young girl as she pouted. Above anything, this woman loved to be spoiled like a child. She didn’t seem to care for her age, at all. Kin’iro almost treated the community’s top-floor of the mansion as a luxury suite room in a hotel.
“I’m sorry, but Leala said not today. S-She said if you don’t come, you could forget about breakfast,” the girl said nervously.
“I’d rather go back to sleep, then,” Kin’iro said, as if sulking – her pout grew bigger with each passing seconds. However, all that was abruptly replaced with an enchanting smile. “I speak in jest. I’ll be on my way now,” Kin’iro said, getting off her comfy sofa, then stretching her slender white arms to the air before squirming a yawn, and walking towards the door. “I’ll be back for you… soon…” she parted ways with her beloved blowpipe with apparent teary eyes – albeit only for a while – it was a tragic scene indeed – only to her, anyway.
“I’ll go on ahead then,” the girl said as she hurried downstairs.

As exhilarating news as this may be, I have to ask, does this mean that contents that are not available in specific countries will be permanently locked out of our reach? :CYes. Contents Wani asked for take-downs will no longer be available here unless you buy them from Fakku now.
You can always use Google to find them; they'll probably be available... somewhere.

(This is a post starring: Koyama Koyuki, and Saotoshi Haruna. The song featured in the post is: Idol Activity!)
“Everyone is so wonderful today,” Johnny commented from watching the performances. He tried his hardest to forget how Rice and Mizusaki Sayuri faced off just moments ago, and they both messed up badly in their performances. Too bad – he thought. Of course, only he was allowed the liberty to watch as he held a device to do so while standing behind the girls. He walked up before them, as if to speak again. “Alright, the last performance just ended. Koyama honey, and Saotoshi honey – you two are up!”
Koyuki looked at Haruna. She remembered the girl from the television show, reviewing students who were successful at the Nationwide Audition Caravan. Other than that Koyuki didn’t pay her another glance. All she cared about was performing her very best and winning this audition.
Haruna gave Koyuki a glance. Koyuki was cute and pretty, she thought. Woah, white hair! She thought. As a person who wanted to make friends, she thought that it’d be great if they became great friends after this. Win or lose, she wouldn’t feel too bad if she gained a new friend at the end of the ordeal, or so she felt. Regardless, she had to focus on the audition at hand now.
The two then brushed past their respective doors to the dressing rooms. Finding the familiar fitting device before them – it was as if the golden entrance to the world of idols was awaiting them both.
Koyuki almost smiled as she saw the familiar changing room. The golden machine was her ticket to trying out her new coord that Ichigo had given her. A treasured gift. Approaching the changing room Koyuki placed her student ID along with the cards for the Lucky Pilot coord into their respective slots.
Haruna found herself before the golden machine once again. A strangely nostalgic feeling welled up in her as she remembered the feeling when she took the audition at the Nationwide Caravan – the whole sequence where she wore her coord via the fitting device felt like a transformation scene from the Sailor Moon to her. She inserted her Student ID card first, followed by the cards of: Blouse, Skirt, and Boots of the Blue Stage Coord. As a person who could hardly keep up with her lessons, Haruna never quite noted that idol showdowns were better-faced with a brand coord. She didn’t think for even a moment that her other coord would be a better choice. Instead, she felt the want to wear that same coord she wore for her previous performance.
For both, lights lit up from over the fitting device before the pathway revealed themselves with a clank in order to have the curtains move aside – the road to the stage was now open.
Going past the door, the two ran with all their might in their respective runways – heading for the large cards aligned for them. Running past the cards – they were fitting onto their little bodies with a flash of light. Haruna struck a pose; holding up her index and middle fingers from each hand and placed them sideways over her eyes, her legs went in a closed motion and she perked up her chest for good measure, hearts popped up around her as she was done, some deep blue and smaller, the other two – bigger. Koyuki’s pose was much less over the top, looking up and crossing her arms with her head tilted was good enough for her. Noticeably Koyuki’s posture was perfectly straight.
As Koyuki and Haruna hopped onto the stage, and took their first steps onto the pink floor, they saw the faces of the audience watching and again, Koyuki almost smiled. This was where she wanted to be. As the music began Koyuki moved her right leg forward raising her arm to her head. While on the other hand, Haruna was slightly taken aback by the number of people in the crowd – there was almost double the people this time. This made her take up her arm up to her head a moment late. In her audition performance – Haruna hardly had much people. This was because there were too many stages in that event.
“Lucky Pilot Coord. How nice,” Orihime Headmistress commented. She was a part of the audience who stood before the judges at the back. Beside her, stood Hoshimiya Ichigo who was simply smiling at the stage. Give it your all, you two, she earnestly cheered to the two herself. “Koyuki honey is looking great! Yeah!” Johnny remarked from beside Ichigo – who gave an energetic nod as if to agree to the statement.
“Saa! Yokou, hikaru mirai he hora, yume wo tsurete,” the two sang.
This time, Koyuki was sure she wouldn’t stutter or miss a word. As she sang her left arm rose to meet the right behind her head as her feet continued in a four step repetition of back, back, forward, forward making sure not to miss a step, her body swayed as she moved. Raising her arms higher, she pointed them straight up and then outwards above her head, then parallel and then downwards. Pointing outwards with her right hand, she put her left on her hip. Her outreached arm slowly circled to point upwards before she bent her elbow and raised left into the air, making a wonky †˜Y’ shape with her arms. As she did this her head tilted slightly and her arms came together at her chest to make a heart shape.
While Haruna danced just as Koyuki did. She felt like something was amiss as frolicked. She couldn’t feel her voice losing to Koyuki’s – just as resounding as her’s. Despite that, the two were not in sync as they were supposed to be – she noted while performing the dance steps to the melody of the music. Strange, she thought.
“Pocket ni hitotsu, yuuki nigirishime Hashiri dashita ano michi,” the two continued to sing.
Koyuki continued to dance, moving her arms and feet forward and backward fluidly. She sang, surprising herself at how well she was managing to sing. Moving her arms to her hips Koyuki continued the steps she had practiced, before moving her hands out in front of her. Her feet moved backwards and forwards before Koyuki made a small hop in time with the lyrics, and then another. They sang:
“Shiroi shirts, kaze nabiki Toberu yo doko made mo,” as they returned to their simple step routine adding first an anti-clockwise spin and then a clockwise spin into the steps before bringing her hands together at the side. Stopping her steps she brought her right hand bent to the side and spun her left in a circle before bringing it up to point at the sky.
Moving her arms back and forth as she danced – Haruna sang with all her might. In fact, it might be what she had really been putting all her strength into – singing. Her dance was somewhat slower than Koyuki’s; movements not as smooth and firm. It was lacking in skills – barely polished. Her expression was passable as she gave a smile. In a certain segment of the lyrics came a part where Haruna needed to skip – which she attempted… and when she did; she almost fell. Haruna somehow managed to balance herself, but when she did so, it felt like a feat hard to pull through – which it was. This made her exclaim “safe,” lightly with apparently proudness. She didn’t notice due to the loud beats of the music that she actually thought out loud. Yet she continued to smile. Ignorance was bliss.. Whatever she was cheerful about, didn’t appeal to a certain teacher… the poor dance ultimately made Miwa Asakura not just cringe, but leave. Haruna didn’t notice this, however. She was preoccupied with trying to figure out the issue with her dance… which was now near impossible to fix given her lack of abilities. However, she still continued, somehow.
Getting into it, Koyuki felt her demeanor soften, her eyes growing more gentle, and a blush forming on her face as she realised how well she was performing. For the faintest few seconds a smile appeared on her face, but quickly disappeared.
“Tama ni wa naki mushi no kumo! Taiyou ga warai tobasu! Nakama datte toki ni wa, rival shinkenshoubu yo!” The two continued with the lyrics regardless as the song progressed.
With her hands on her hips, Koyuki entered a step sequence putting one foot forward and then moving her other foot to meet it. Raising one hand into the air, and then another she began a step turn, turning full three hundred and sixty degrees. Then, still bouncing with the music she put her right arm to where her folded left arm’s hand was making a circle gesture with her fingers. Stopping and putting her hands on her hips she posed for a second before reaching her right hand out to the left, and then bringing it out to the side while bouncing to the music. Spinning and putting her hands to her chest, forming a heart Koyuki broke out into the chorus.
Haruna arched her foot forward before putting her other front as the song entered a new phase. She moved from left, then to right in such a manner. Clearly, Koyuki was far-matched in this case. She then turned before continuing to sing – while putting up her right hand’s index finger beside her face. The other arm covered the part below her chest as if it was supporting the right arm, while it visibly wasn’t. The back of her hands were put over her hips – before her index finger was pointed left to right – pointing at the audience – before she formed a heart-pose with her fingers after yet another turn.
“Idol – idol! Katsudou – katsudou! Go, go! Let's go! ...Go Go Let's go!” as a part of the song, there were phrases that were sung in the music itself. The two continued to sing, their voices still not giving out.
Her arms stretched to their limits; Haruna skipped yet again with the music. Her index fingers – of both her hands – energetically shot towards the sky repeatedly, after which she pumped her fist towards the sky twice. She noted that she did so after Koyuki did. She internally sighed at herself.
Jumping the the side arms, outstretched, she continued to step to the music, before jumping cleanly to the side again in a similar movement. Koyuki then repeatedly pointed into the air in time with the music.
“Goal ni mukatte! Hashiri tsuzukeru kimi ga mieru, fight kureru~!” After the two sang this line, there were no more lyrics left to sing out.
Haruna found herself dancing out the same steps she performed at the start of the song. Swaying her hands back and forth cheerfully, she carefully danced out the steps with her legs – frolicking, apparently. She turned away from the crowd to end with her finger pointing towards the sky, slowly, and steadily, before forming a heart with her fingers next to her face as the music finally ended.
Waving her arms back and forth to lead the crowd Koyuki continued with the song. Repeating her first move, she put her arms behind her head, then stretched them into the sky before bringing them down at the sides in time with the music and then pointing her right hand to the side before bringing it to the sky, bending her elbow and bringing her left arm up to replace the right. Bringing her hands to her chest to again form a heart shape, her simple four step routine continued for a few seconds before Koyuki turned her back on the audience, left hand on her hip. Bringing her right hand into the sky slowly, as it reached a ninety degree angle, she spun around, both her hands making a heart shape next to her.
Yes! Koyuki thought, she hadn’t made a mistake in the routine this time. She bowed politely to the audience when the music had stopped. Koyuki’s excitement bar was maxed out.
Ugh… this didn’t feel right, at all, Haruna concluded. That is, it was her feeling towards her dance itself. Performing on stage after so long, however, felt nice. This allowed her to maintain a smile. Haruna’s excitement bar was below the average as her performance ended.
GM Notes:
- Winning point details were honestly, removed long ago in the doc. So, no winning point totals available for this face-off. I think Koyuki got around 5, I don’t really remember anymore.
- Koyuki wins the round.

Ojou
Ojou types are some of the most sophisticated people you can expect to meet. They exude class and perhaps even an heir of royalty- however, despite their refined tastes, they are rarely snobby people. Ojou types believe in the proper sentimentalities of times gone by; manners, etiquette and chivalry are all things they admire and pursue. Always very beautiful, they take great care with their appearance, expressing themselves with fashion and style. They lead a lavish lifestyle, wanting to focus only on beautiful things.

Anyway, I was wondering if you can talk about each of the different roles in a general scanlation staff. Is there a place on a team for someone more talented in literary areas? Being a writer and editor myself, it's been an interest on the back-burner in my mind, but graphics is sadly not my personal expertise. Anything you can share?
Thank you for your time.
There's definitely a QC (quality check) role in scanlation for something like that. Everyone within Fakku Books is pretty much a QCer. Translators stare at text so long that sometimes they miss glaring typos or grammatical errors because they're so caught up in translating a statement accurately that sometimes it goes unnoticed that it doesn't sound natural in English. Even when I'm placing the text it's difficult for me to catch spelling/grammatical errors because I'm so zoomed in and focused on everything from the size of text, ratio of space inside a bubble, the shape the text makes, and how legible it is for me to notice a typo. It's just as easy for me to hit a button and have a layer that's out of sight (too zoomed in) and something happen to it while I'm working on a different part of the page too. Bump a layer or miss a small sfx.
They have to look at everything from translation issues to editing issues.
So in general, with scanlation you have:
Translator
Editor
QCer
Sometimes larger groups who can afford to split groups up will separate groups further:
Translator
Proof Reader
Cleaner (removes text and cleans manga scan)
Typesetter
QCer
P.S. It's funny that you say that about my writing, writing is one of the talents I feel like I lack the most in, but I appreciate you thinking of me.
I'd love to try apply for QC or Proofreader, one day.
Albeit I can't see the larger type of group happening on Fakku.

(This post stars: Mizusaki Sayuri. The song featured in this post is: Ponytail After School)
“Next up, entry number #32 – Mizusaki Sayuri, good luck,” Miwa Asakura called yet again. There was a very slight hint of hope and expectation from Asakura who knew that Sayuri had once asked her about the directions to the library. Perhaps she did do her work; studied hard, and practiced well. There was a chance that she may as well show her a good performance. Well, it was a chance, anyway.
“Yes!” Sayuri called back as she headed towards the changing room. Pushing aside the doors, she once again found herself gazing upon the magical fitting room that led to the Aikatsu Stage. The cards from the Yellow Stage Coord were slotted into their respective spots, along with her new Starlight Academy student ID, and the crest rose to the top of the fitting room, drawing back the curtains just as it did the previous time. Although Sayuri should have been extremely excited, she was too preoccupied with remembering her research.
Stepping into the light, the shining runway surrounded by club suits presented itself once more in front of the oblivious girl. With each step she ran, she crossed off items from her mental revision checklist. Student ID, check. Normal coord instead of brand, check. Braided hairstyle, check! All that’s left is the performance… Unconsciously doing a twirl at the end of the runway, Sayuri prepared herself for the †˜exam’ to come. Don’t forget to focus on presenting the coord!
In actuality; this was no exam, but Sayuri came to a misunderstood and believed that it was one of the Special Auditions that tests an idol. This was †˜special’ in the sense that it presented a rare chance of allowing the winner to become Hoshimiya Ichigo’s temporary assistant manager.
The entrance to the stage was a bit different from her first audition. Rather than walking onto the stage and waiting for the music to start, Sayuri could already hear the first notes as she was hoisted onto the candy filled stage. As the scenery shifted from club suits to jelly beans and lollipops, she tilted her head from one side to the other at the start of each bar. The ground she was standing on leveled off with the white runway on the stage and the first verse of the song began.
Ukanai kao shite wakari yasui yo ne, Kocchi ni oide yo hora, hayaku, Kokoro ga moyamoya ame ni naru mae ni, KyÅ mo minna de atsumarÅ yo!
Although Sayuri thought that the lack of singing was something beneficial to her since she could focus more on the dance, she didn’t notice that the lack of mouth movements meant that her expression, despite having a smile, was rather stiff and unanimated. What she did notice however, was that posing during a jump was something she didn’t work on enough. Once again Sayuri had an unsteady landing after her jump at the end of the verse, thankfully she recovered in time for the next verse.
Tokubetsu news ga attemo nakutemo, Nanjikan datte hanaseru ne. Mama wa akiretsutsu, omoiataru fushi? Girls talk no senpai damon.
Starting off with four large strides, Sayuri ensured that her limbs were extended far enough to show off her bracelets and shoes. She then pulled back her arms to one side of her head to continue through the motions of the next few steps that she was reciting within her mind. Move straight… To the left… Now the right… Twirl, and… Blow! Aided by the movements of her hand, Sayuri’s stiff smile changed into an expression mimicking that of a fairy blowing the fluffy seeds off a dandelion for just a brief moment.
Onaji class toka, ie no kyori wa, unmei to yondemo iinda~ Nanka ki ga au, aete yokatta, Kamisama ni kansha!
The return of Sayuri’s concentration on demonstrating her clothes was followed by the return of the unanimated smile. As if wiping a window clean, she slowly raised her hands towards the ceiling and pushed up twice with both hands, then twice again with only her right. Continuing along with the dance, the perfection seeking girl tried her best to not lose her balance during the next few one legged poses. Yet much to her dismay, the spin was done too slowly resulting in a glitch in her timing.
Minna to iru to sunao ni nareru, itsumo honto ni arigato, Ponytail no kage wo yurashite, kitto zutto wasurenai.
Disregarding her errors, Sayuri pressed forward knowing that she couldn’t quit halfway. She was disappointed that her week’s worth of practice didn’t yield the results she wanted, however the audition had not yet ended. If I can’t get a hundred percent, I can still aim for ninety-nine!
Minna de isshoni otona ni narou, mainichi ga kakeashi no seishun, honto wa yukkuri yakitsuketai no ni.
The climax of the song was thankfully danced through without a hitch. As she raised her forearms slowly for her final pose, a sense of emptiness welled up within. Sayuri was slightly upset about not being able to execute her dance perfectly, however at the same time she felt that she had forgotten something important.
