The woman was on her way to her so-called base – a large factory exuding steam and smog, hidden in a forest the townspeople would dare not to trudge through. This was the current location of the Steel Union in Russia. Usually, it snows around these lands, but right now – a blizzard was taking place instead.
In such an unfortunate situation, a particular woman riding a motorcycle was heavily deterred by such this cold and windy weather. It was hard to see, moreover in a forest one could hardly even ride a bike properly. She had no choice but to walk with it.
Through the long walks that felt as though she spent eternities doing so – her circuits were screaming at her for the lack of charge and power in the body. She could often see her mechanical eye’s vision flicker out here and there. A hopeless situation she found herself in, indeed.
The level of snow over the ground made it much more tiresome, as with each step her feet would dive too deep into the snow, thigh high in fact. She sighed, letting out visible warm air that was almost instantly made cold by the harsh weather. At such a moment, she noticed a transmission; static noises from her device worn over her left ear.
“We… iss! Wei… ss… come in. Do you… are you the… re?” The man spoke, albeit it was static-y, she couldn’t hardly hear it due to the roars of the blizzard wind.
”What? S-speak up! I can’t h-h-hear you proper-l-l-ly!” She tried to shout as her battery ran low.
“WEI...SS… COME IN. Where are you right now?!” The voice shouted, but it was still being interrupted by the poor network.
”I’m s-st-still in the for-r-rest. J-j-just a few mor-r-re steps till I reach the e-entrance. B-bring a batter-r-ry pack as you w-wait.” Her steps became heavier as she spoke. She could vaguely see the entrance of S.U. She walked with all her remaining strength as she fought through the harsh winds and snow.
And there it was, the factory of the Steel Union that she was trying to reach. The white of the snow and wind veiled it so nicely that she almost mistook it for a white deadend.
“Already prepared. It’s obvious that you’d run out of power by now. This is why you don’t use that much speed in a simple mission,” the man answered, apparently scolding Weiss. He seemed more than prepared as Weiss found him walking towards her from the front, clutching something in his hands.
He’d run if he could, but not in this situation where each steps were a chore to take.
Meters.
Inches.
And finally, he caught her hand and immediately pulled to his side, then opened the box and took out a plug before ramming it in at the back of her neck.
“That should do,” he said, heaving a sigh that was momentarily carried away by the blizzard.
Her eyes were half closed before he plugged her neck. She could feel a huge surge of electricity running through her mechanical parts. ”I know, I just wanted to finish it quick since it’s really cold. Not that I can feel it though.” She sighed.
“Well think about the trouble I, the handsome man, had to go through for you,” he said, turning his face away angrily. “Anyway, since I had to come out of my comfy hot and warm room, you can use your †˜speed’ to send me back now.”
”What do you mean †˜send me back now’? Oh well, hold the box, okay?” It felt like he wanted to say something, but he stopped and took up the box once again. She then lifted him up on her arms and walked into the factory.
It didn’t take too long to get past the white field and into their destination now that Weiss was all charged up. Warm air greeted them inside, albeit they reeked of engine and suffocating air. That was where these members of the Organization stayed in for years. So it was now somewhat pleasant to them. It’d let them know that they were finally back home.
Weiss made her way to the elevator, and entered it; holding a small handle labeled †˜2’. At this point, the man, no, the boy complained, asking him to be let down, but the woman wouldn’t listen at all. The elevator then begun moving upwards, and stopped at the second floor. She soon headed directly to his so-called †˜comfy’ room. ”There, Happy?”
“By sending back, I meant to the factory, not exactly to the room but… oh well,” he sighed. “You… just how were you a dedicated housewife, I wonder,” he said, apparently seriously considering how she lived her life as a human being long ago, as he narrowed his eyes.
”I blame my survival freak husband for that. He literally introduced me many new things in my life back then. Everything was new to me, from eating stems to medicinal herbs, Swimming to hiking mountains, and camping in a deep forest just the two of us.” She looked up and closed her eyes. ”Then that wretched blondie ruined everything in the plane crash incident. With his loud screeching sword he killed my husband right in front of my eyes.” She gripped the man that she currently carrying lightly. That noise would ring to her ears even now. ”All that said, I didn’t even know that my husband was like my current self, half man half machine. Did he work for you too? she asked.
“Umm… will you stop hurting me and put me down already? You’re hurting my precious, beautiful, and handsome body here! Lightly or not, no excuses!” He said, sternly, pronouncing his words with much emphasis, the speech about her revenge and the villain was completely on deaf ears. “What if I couldn’t walk the next day because you pressed the muscles of my thigh too hard? I wouldn’t be able to fetch my beauty products anymore – the horror of that situation… I don’t even want to imagine.”
“Anyway, I don’t think I’ll ever meet a housewife who talks fondly about spending times in a damned forest, or mountain hiking. That’s so much effort… ugh,” he lamented, as if losing the opportunity for something forever. “I didn’t work for him, no.”
”Oh, sorry about that.” She put the boy down gently and pinched his cheeks like pinching a little boy. ”Aren’t you a little bit too young for using beauty products? Your delicate skin altered by chemicals in such a young age.” She sighed and let the boy go. ”Maybe I should bring you on a camping trip sometimes.” She placed her hands on her hips and looked at him seriously. Like a mother scolding her child.
“I’m not! Any men – especially the smart ones would know to take care of their looks,” he argued.
“Nothing to worry about for health, though. Steel Princess looked through them and said it’s okay so… it has to be okay. I think,” he said, the last part signified that he himself was unsure, but he seemed rather happy that the leader actually †˜looked’. “And no thanks, I’d rather browse the internet from home than go camping.”
”I’m still a nurse you know. I know an unhealthy skin when I see one, and yours is on a verge of turning dry as the desert.” She warned.
“Tch, maybe it’s time to get those professional services or something… don’t wanna go to town for that though… what a pain,” the boy murmured as if cursing his fate, to particularly no one as he faced the doorknob of his room. “Anyway, Steel Princess would like a word with you. See you around,” he said, opening his door.
”Okay, I’ll see you around, and don’t use too many make-ups you hear me!”
“Mind your own business!” He said before the door closed shut.
Weiss then turned and headed for the elevator once again, then held out the small handle labeled †˜5’. The elevator then moved up to the top – fifth – floor in some moments.

Third, I do not know because of the piano or crepes element of the story but this work of yours kinda reminds me a bit of Shigatsu no Kimi wa Uso, dont you think? Don't take me wrong but I liked that bit of it.I know, right?
I had that exact thought when I was reading this piece. It's either inspired from it or just coincidentally similar.

The two found themselves before a theater of London. The Shakespeare’s Globe, they call it. From Bread Street, to Queen Street, past the Upper Thames; they took quite the distance to get here. At least passing by the bridge was a sight to see. And how’d they do that? Well, unfortunately for the gentleman, he had to pay out of his pocket to pay for a toll gurney. He pitied his wallet, as well as himself.
It was not surprising at all – to him, when they arrived – only to find the theater closed. He could feel the sly smile of the driver behind him as the low-class toll gurney left with a roar of its engines.
“Aw, it’s closed. It’s closed, Michael!” The girl complained with an upset look on her face.
“What was I thinking. Of course it’s closed. It’s midnight. My money...” he was staring at his now lighter wallet. Not that he carried a lot of money in the first place, but he always brought just enough money for food, and preferred walking to his destinations. He looked at his companion and sulkily said, “You know, I’d charge you if you weren’t a ghost, Iris.”
“Ahaha… I apologize for this,” Iris said, placing a hand behind her head as she ruffled her hair nervously from embarrassment.
“Is there something you need from here?” A voice foreign to Michael spoke from behind. It sounded aged and old. When Michael turned to face the man, he found an odd figure before him.
An old man clad in long black cloak – to be more specific, it looked like a cape running down from the back of his shoulders. Michael noticed that the inner color under the black cape was bright red – as crimson as blood – and it gave a rather eerie feeling. The man wore an expression he could not read, and Michael couldn’t tell why he was here, and especially, why now.
“Ah, I was just wondering what should I watch… when it opens, I mean.” he replied. “How about you, old man? Are you perhaps an actor in a play?” he asked.
“Hahaha! That’s one time to think!” The old man remarked with a hearty laugh, he took a step forward, and took his top black hat before his chest, “I am Bram Stoker – a writer who was running rather late tonight. I’ve been working on my next play, you see.”
“Name’s Michael, Michael Kallweit, pleased to meet you.” Michael replied as he offered a handshake to the old man. “I’ve been wanting to watch a play, you see. I haven’t seen one before.”
“A pleasure to meet you, Mister Michael,” Bram picked up his right hand, and shook his hand with Michael’s, as he offered. “Then you should have made some time prior to the plays. We have plenty of posters up if you’d like to know what to watch, not that they are easy to see at the dead of night like now,” he suggested, motioning his hand towards the walls of the theater.
“Personally, I’d suggest you attend the play of Romeo and Juliet tomorrow evening. Our actor is a dashing individual,” he recommended, apparently picturing the actor in his mind.
“Oh, is that so? I will be looking forward to it, then.” Michael said as he made a small smile to Iris, to which she smiled back. She stood behind Bram and made funny faces. Rude, but still funny. However, funny only to herself. “What will your next play be about?”
“Oh, yes! Glad you asked,” Bram said, his expression truly lit up just from the question – as if it was music to his ears. “It features vampires! The mythical creatures of the dark that preys on us humans for blood. A fascination, a mystification, and a beautiful danger,” Bram stated with much excitement and passion.
“I have been going over the materials so many times, that I have ended up getting late, you see,” Bram said, with an embarrassed chuckle.
Michael scratched his cheek awkwardly. “Vampires, huh? Seems like you really like them.”
“Well, writers have to be passionate about their work. How else do you make a hit work?”
“Anyway,” Bram started, “It’s really late, perhaps I can get a gurney for you? Or would you be fine regardless? There are many… rumors about the London streets of night, it’d be safer to just go home since it is so late, in my opinion,” Bram stated, bringing up the famous topics of gossips across London. Iris’ eyes lit up as it sent a spark excitement to her, and it was all too visible to Michael.
“I would be much obliged. Although, I could say the same to you, Mister Stoker. Would you mind if we- I accompanied you to your residence first?” Michael offered.
“Oh no, I’m almost home, really,” Bram replied, dismissing the offer politely. After this, Bram called a toll gurney, and Michael sent off by Bram to his home – which was at the Church.

It was a long night.
He walked. A tip and tap noise occurred as he did so. In fact, there was another pair of noise aside from the strolling. Indeed, it was a pair. A strange pair. Some called them the Abnormal Council as a joke in the academy.
Indeed, they were abnormal. Even under the abnormal fog – they yielded their appearance and fought single-handedly against the ritual spell that invaded Square Miles every night.
Walking over the stone-pavements of London, the pair had long noticed that this fog was still continuing to shroud the rest of the street; pursuing victims. Tonight, they came in search of the legends, the fascinating mysteries of the Magic World, and perhaps the most dreaded kind known to the magicians of said world.
This was almost a habit now. There had been rumors about strange and grotesque murders at least once a month, and the man here could not get his head over it – believing that it may the works of those damned sharp-fanged monsters.
First the grey clouds, then the black smog from the spires and towers, and now steam poisoning to the people… after which came this fog – fearsome to even the magicians. London was becoming more and more warped, and more importantly – unsafe. It is no wonder that Queen Victoria had passed the law to limit working hours, and put a curfew effective immediately.
“I honestly don’t think we’ll find anything tonight,” the young-looking girl tugging on the man’s coat uttered. “Are we still going to search?”
“Even if the chance is small,” The man said, “It’s still worth checking. We could overlook something if we don’t look tonight.”
“Right, right, and that’s how we find nothing eveeeeeery night,” the young girl complained, as she placed her hands behind her head in an unsightly manner, revealing her armpits. Not that it happened while walking here. “And what’s with this pathetic fog? Even my Parma Magica can deflect it. Or maybe I’m someone amazing after all… ” she said, snickering to herself proudly.
“It’s not like I’m dragging you along here,” The man said unforgivingly, “And you’re not exactly a normal mage, are you?”
“But you’re a dope! I can’t tell what you’d do when I’m not there!” The young girl argued. “I should at least accompany the one who brought to me this world – at least when I am free.”
“Huhuhu, glad you know. I am very special indeed,” she added with her nose sky high, as usual.
“Indeed,” the man agreed with a smirk, “A world class pipsqueek.”
“Wha-what was that?!” The tiny-girl said, as if finding the words unbelievable. She then faced the other side, and chanted something.
Nothing happened.
She chanted again.
Nothing happened.
She chanted yet again.
Something happened.
The wind stopped. They sure did. The wind that was carrying the fog and distributing it throughout Square Miles was stopped, it’d likely stop enveloping others into it, and turn them into mundane animals.
“Hmph, see? †˜World class pipsqueaks’ are more useful than you!”
The man smiled, “We’ll see little one,” he said, as if the girl had just played into his hands.
Somehow the girl didn’t like the reply, and frowned; expressing her displeasure. Suddenly, she looked to the other side, seemingly distracted.
“What’s wrong?” The man said, turning his head in the direction the girl was now facing.
“Seems like we have some company. There’s way too many to count, though.”
He sighed. “Just what I needed,” he said melancholically, “Can you tell who they are?”
“Animals,” the child-like person replied. “mundane animals,” she added informatively.
“Shouldn’t be too much trouble then,” He replied, keeping an eye out all the same, “Shall we continue?”
“What do you mean? You know that you can’t kill them, right?”
“Hmm?” The man questioned, eyebrow raised, “Well now, if I can’t kill them, how can they be mundane?”
“It must be your age, then,” she said, sighing, but somehow seemed happy to be able to fill him in, “it means that they are not mythical or magical creatures… however, you shouldn’t forget that we’re inside the fog that changes humans into mundane animals. We’re fine due to our protections, but if you kill these animals… it is akin to slaying your own countrymen,” she answered.
He smiled, “It’s a good thing I never intended to kill them isn’t it,” He said, “I meant that since they pose no threat to us, we should continue.”
“Even if they are not magical, they can and will harm us. How do you plan to deal with it safely without harming them?”
“One glance at you and I’m sure they’d run with their tails between their legs,” the man joked.
“Huhu! That they wou- of course not!” She said. “Ah, they’re here.”
All kinds of animals gathered and surrounded the two and leered. Wolves, bears, horses, ferrets, vipers, boars even cats and dogs gathered. Some of them appeared harmless at first sight, but their eyes were full of killing intent, and the two could tell. Albeit, the young girl shrieked with fear, seeing a viper of all things.
“Hrmm, this does appear to be a bit of an awkward situation, don’t you think?” The man said, seemingly not phased.
“Y-Yeah,” she agreed, trying to contain her fidgeting figure. “Well, since my spells are clearly not for this situation, I can just leave this to you, right?” She asked with a big, bright smile. It was a bit of a lie since one of her spells could literally suck out the fluids of a designated target, but she kept her mouth tightly shut about it, and was glad that her partner wasn’t so knowledgeable about spells.
“Hrmm, what to do?” The man wondered, “This really is a pickle. Perhaps I should give our friends here a wash?”
The animals roared and charged in towards the two, and began to attack with their fangs or claws. The man parried the attacks of the berserk creatures with grace, while the girl clung to his clothes for her dear life – still fearing the viper.
“Well… considering the fact that they likely breathed some fog in – which are originally composed of water – you may be able to purify them,” she theorized.
“Let’s give that a try then,” he said, rolling up his sleeves quickly. Holding his hand outstretched he began to manipulate the power that resided inside him. What he was able to muster wasn’t much, but it would most likely be enough for his current means. Releasing his power the water in the surrounding area became purer, all taint and impurity removed. He smiled beginning to grab a wolf as it attacked and focusing his power into them.
The wolf groaned and stopped, its eyes made it evident that its consciousness was waning as it was losing its strength. A visible blackish-purple air wafted out of its eyes, ears, nose, and lastly, its mouth as it lost consciousness and fell down to the stone pavement as the man let go of its head. One would see that the figure of the mundane animal was very slowly reverting back to his original form. With the fog in this part of the street cleansed and the magical substances purified, it’d be easy for him to take care of the rest of these animals.
“So it is effective after all!” His little partner remarked, her face brightening, but she retreated back to him with the hiss of the viper. “A-Anyway, now that we know how to deal with them, let’s just be done with it and get out of here!”
“Are you scared little one?” The man remarked smiling as he grabbed hold of the viper of which she was so scared. Using his ability to purify he set to work on the snake he held in his hand.
“O-Of course not,” she instantly denied, but when the man brought the snake to her face, he heard the loudest yelp before retracting his hand that night.
The man laughed at this, before continuing his work with all the animals.
