(OOC: And so the RP starts. People will still be allowed to join, but we have a new rule against a certain group of people now. Regardless, to what little readers we may have, enjoy the show. Just to note: We'll be trying to provide background music for the scenes, not all but likely for most. They are optional for when you read, of course. There will certainly be some recurring background musics for some scene as we go. As for the Entries by Victoria, they will always be kept within spoilers.)
Act 1: The Rekindled Clock
(BGM)[/h]
Running.
She was running through the area.
Through the silent streets – in the depths of the dark night.
Tough leather collided with the hard stone pavement, as the tip-tapping noise resounded across the residential area around Thames, under the blackened grey sky.
Her pupils shifted repeatedly from left to right, as if in search of something – or rather, someone – desperately. However, she could find no figure of a man or woman, let alone any children, even the urchins across the dark alleys.
The Engine lights shone dimly yet unceasingly – as if lending a helping hand to pave the way for her – allowing her to know where she could escape – in order to avoid – the infinite darkness that lurks the corners – of the glorious capital known as England. Yet at the same time… it felt as though she wasn’t in the England she always knew, anymore.
A voice visited her ears. A gentle and tempting voice, yet grim and ghastly. It beckoned her over and over – to turn and take a peek.
However, she wouldn’t listen to it. She wouldn’t dare turn back to face that which she must not meet.
No matter how much it showered her with praise, whispered words of love, ridiculed her with laughters, chastised her for her actions, and yet made promises to cherish her very existence. She knew what it truly desired. It was her golden eye.
A legend often spoken of by the many eastern shamans.
A power of the chosen representative.
A treasure of the stars.
She loathed this golden eye, yet at the same time she found it dear to herself. She wasn’t particularly vexed despite standing out due to having pupils of two differing colors. People would sometimes make comments about it. There would be instances where it’d show her things she may not usually see, but it wasn’t something she’d mind. Not until… yes, not until the darkness had approached her.
How did all this start? When had such incidents begun to occur with her? When will she be free of the pursuing horrors?
She didn’t know. All she knew was that she needed to run if she didn’t wanted to experience the fearsome fangs of the lurking monsters so as to protect herself from losing her life.
“God… please save me,” she uttered, offering a small prayer from the bottom of the heart to an omnipotent entity who’d only but listen to her screams. Truly, a futile attempt.
“I’ll definitely not die. I’ll definitely save you,” she spoke with a hoarse voice between her breathes, apparently affirming her resolve.
“Queen…!”
(BGM)[/h]
“A King,” a voice spoke, “making way to the Futuristic World?” She asked.
“Indeed, he is one hell of a womanizer… I hope you understand. Please stay away from him.”
“Nonsense,” she declined openly, “as the Genesis, I must greet and evaluate his position before allowing him into our society. Is that not my job?”
“Yes, but I can’t help but worry!”
“Do not worry. I hold no interest in male-female relationships… please stop worrying, uncle.”
“What guarantee is there in that?! Despite being over two-hundred years old, you’re an inexperienced woman.”
“And whose fault is that?”
The shaman’s lips were tight shut with those words alone. It seemed as though he wanted to voice an opinion, but stopped himself.
“It is my job to moderate and protect our people, is it not? I will do what I can. A womanizer can’t be that bad, like you claim.”
And thus ended a conversation between a man who acted as the father figure of the most emotionless Descendant ever known throughout the history known only to God and the Zodiac’s Wills.
The door was soon opened, followed by a loud thud.
“System,” she uttered, apparently speaking to herself. Her eyes glowed blue – delving into the sea of information, she peered into a world no other could see.
The train… ahh, yes, I see. An unforeseen misfortune. To think The Society’s Automatic Extermination Department would take action… ” She thought, shaking herself in pity.
There was no way it could defeat the King.
(BGM)[/h]
Crimson.
Quiet.
Stale.
And perhaps depressing. That was the room the man in red cloak stood at the center of, taking in the sight with an elongated breathe before giving a long sigh, as if taking in a marvelous sight.
Purple smoke escaped from the newly manufactured Engine pipe that dangled from the corner of his smirking lips that he smoked with.
Somehow, the combined scent made it all the more pleasurable to simply stand there.
With a creaking noise his focus was lost, and his piercing gaze – from behind the shades – turned to the open door behind him.
“Um… sir, we have received the package just now,” a man said in a hushed voice, covering his nose. He wore… very ordinary clothes.
“Excellent. With this our society shall grow deeper into the darkness of Europe. I am to only await the bloodbaths of the war, then,” the red man spoke, as his lips parted a sheepish grin showed.
“†˜Tis the time for Steam Faeries to take the stage,” his excitement was written all over his face. Those deep black sunglasses couldn’t hide the glint showing in his deep scarlet eyes.
“Also, we had that scientist assigned to this project, as you’ve ordered.”
“Fantastic.”
“Finally, the Great Experiment may begin.”
“We’re finally kicking this project up from the planning phase, aren’t we?” The man said, trying to sound enthusiastic. Anyone could see his disgusted face wrecked with the contorted smile, but the red-hooded man no longer kept his head turned; paying no heed.
“We’ve just made moves for some specimen to gain through the black market,” he added.
“Tsk tsk tsk,” the red man moved a finger back and forth from left to right. “You know what we really need for this?”
“...What we really need?”
“Riders, of course. Something special must be used… in order to surpass the Steel Princess.”
