I played Lords of Shadow the first one. I lost all patience with it because it felt too similar to a generic hack-and-slash like God of War. A simplified, Light/Heavy attack scheme with a bit and end here and there to add some flair. To be completely honest, this game was an major disappointment to me.

Fought a roaming drake near Shadow Fort today. Possibly the most entertaining fight I've endured.

Drake had an obnoxious amount of health, and only two true weak spots, head and heart. Took me about 8-12 minutes to kill with two useless pawns dilly-dallying during the fight.

Hilarious thing. I was playing Strider, and my pawn was Fighter. After 7-ish minutes, I went into my bags to use a heal when I noticed my pawn's HP. I never gave her curatives to hold or anything of that sort.

1788/2388. In 7 minutes, she only lost about a quarter of her health. That is laughably the most absurd thing ever. Her defense was so high it was completely baffling. She taunted the dragon and tanked him the entire fight. Never once was I in any mortal danger, EXCEPT when he did a shallow roar that instant 1HKO'ed my pawns all at once. But that wasn't anything a little pick-me-up couldn't fix now and then.

Aelinore (the Troubled Duchess) Route
Spoiler:

1. Meet her in the garden after meeting with the duke
2. Talk to her until you give her your hat automatically
3. Get the quest to meet her in the night from her handmaiden. Don't let her die. Intervene!
Optional: Give her the Arisen's Bond post-quest
4. Take up the next quest of hers from the handmaiden, who will be sobbing in front of the castle. If you can only get it once you start the quest that cancels others (involving the Great Wall), you don't need to worry.

...She'll show up.


Madeleine (the Flighty Merchant) Route
Spoiler:

DO NOT DO ANY OF THE NUMBERS IN "Aelinore's Route"
If you talked to the Duchess already, then fine, but don't do any quests with her.

1. After the pawns see you as the Arisen officially at the beginning of the game, go back to the inn in Cassardis and speak to Madeleine
2. Escort her to the stronghold
3. Give her the 1000 gold she asks for
4. Continue to interact with her, and do the Mason-given quest involving following/stalking someone at night
5. When she gives you the quest, give her the Golden Idol (obtained through hanging with Fournaval's daughter for a day and letting her win the race at the end. Speak to her after completing the quest and she rewards you the idol for doing as she said all day).
Optional: Give her the Arisen's Bond
6. Keep talking to her. Not too important, but she does say things about the events that you witnessed on that stalking quest


Mercedes (the Princess Knight) Route
As before: Do not do ANY of the other numbers in the other routes. Don't even talk to the duchess.
Spoiler:

1. Talk to her and give her "cloudwine" until she likes you
2. When given the quest to hunt the griffen from Aldous, talk to her. Save as many men as you can. Come back and talk to her again
3. Give her a lot more cloudwine (in my game she was happy with me, but lost affection for some reason, so give her more crunk)
4. In "Pride Before the Fall", do not intervene and just watch
Optional: Give her the Arisen's bond (I made a copy of it at Black Cat in the capital and gave her one before the quest and one after the quest before I went to leave and talk to Aldous about what happened)


That's what I've confirmed so far. I'll help out more as I experiment and look around.


Spoiler:
Adding on to this on who I just got last night - Selene.

1. Do the Quina quest where she visits the Witchwood.
2. When the quest about the Witch Hunt appears, do that quest and Selene will show affection for you. She'll go to the village you first start at and live in your home.
3. Give her items until her affinity is maxed. (I gave her whatever like some herbs, meat, foreign knives, lol).

Well, that's what I did. Not sure if it'll work, but it's something.

Very nice, mate! Can't believe I left her out.

Selene is easy to get as a sort of surrogate daughter, but not so much as a lover. How tall/mature was your protagonist? I heard she can only become the true love if your protagonist is a kid/midget (the game distinguishes age by height and wrinkles).

I know that for Quina there's a quest after the first Witch Wood quest with her where you have to save her from bandits or something. Never got it myself, but then again I rarely checked back in with Cassardis during the game.


For Quina, the quest after Witch Wood was an escort quest to Prayer falls near the abbey. Where ------

Spoiler:
she joins a church of nuns, in order to research your wound. I haven't visited her yet, as I've just defended against the cockatrice.


On a side note, I hit level 50 today! Also Asalam finally respawned! He died during an escort quest so I was stuck as a Mystic Archer, and my pawn as a warrior for a massive amount of time.
My pawn currently has 48k Discipline points to spend. She's completed Fighter and warrior 100%, she's 7 levels into strider. I've finished Strider, Mystic Archer, Ranger, and am 7 levels into Warrior.

Always have a lantern for you and your pawn. As well as a fair supply of oil and healing items. Make sure that when you have these, your weight should stay in the 'very light' zone. Also, your physical build(Tall, short, fat, skinny) affects how much weight you can carry as well as your stamina recovery. How you make your character is up to you! I just don't recommend making a character and pawn that are 4'11!. Below is a class guide to everything you need to know about the basics. No spoilers of the story are provided.

BE AWARE THAT PAWNS YOU HIRE ONLINE FROM A RIFTSTONE DO NOT LEVEL UP!
This requires that you change your pawns on a regular basis, maybe every 8-10 levels or so, if you want your party in tip-top form.(But sometimes the pawns you hire online will be absolute garbage, for example a mage that puts priority in attacking enemies, rather than healing, buffing, and enchanting the partys' weapons)

Pawns 'do not die'. If your main pawn disappears. Simply touch a riftstone and poof, they're back!

First real tip. Try to make a 'balanced' party. Mine consists of
Fighter, Warrior, Mage, and (Me)Ranger/Strider/Assassin/Mystic Archer(Ranged)

When I first started, I chose the strider class. You get Rook as a 'mage' class but he is useless. He's more of a pack mule. I intended on making my pawn a mage, but I was worried I had to buy mana pots(Silly me) so I made her a fighter. Never regretted that decision.

STRIDER CLASS
Spoiler:

Benefits
High attack speed.
VERY High stamina.
Average attack power.
Ranged abilities, as well as AOE.
Great CC abilities.
Unlimited arrow count.
Can use 'special arrows'.(Poison, explosive, oil doused, silencer, etc)
Fun class.
Fantastic support class. With the bow enchanted with magic, the damage and support becomes even more amazing.
Practically unstoppable with a good team set-up.
Ability to 'double jump' and 'instant reset' later.(Instant reset literally allows you to reset to the neutral standing position, regardless of what action you're doing.)
Can 'guard' break with certain arrow skills.(Full bend, mighty bend)
Ranger class is ridiculously strong later on.
Mystic archer class arguably has the strongest skill in the game, at the cost of your pawn's life. More of a 'last resort'. Looks extremely badass even slows down time while aiming, but I personally dislike the whole killing my pawn part.


Faults
Low armor value. Take hits pretty hard early game.
Damage isn't incredible until later.
You're using a bow so accuracy is critical!
You're only as good as your aim is. So if you tend to miss key shots, (Cyclops eye, Chimera tails, golem crystal points etc etc) you'll be more of a liability in a fight than an asset.


FIGHTER CLASS

Spoiler:
Benefits
Very high health
Very high armor value
High attack value
Versatile in every situation.
Tank! Taunts enemies in the area.
Can forcibly make enemies drop defense in a quick shield slam.
Can block!
Massive physical damage reduction. With the right augments from other classes, can literally be unstoppable to physical damage.


Faults
No ranged.
Enemies will often target you first.(This could be a benefits too!)
Some augments are unimpressive. The 'warrior' class, has the massive defense bonus augments, and massive strength augment as well.(When I say this, it means you have to class change and level up the class level in order to unlock the augments)
During large monster fights, you will often climb onto the back of monsters. Depending on how you approach this it can be a benefit or fault.


MAGE CLASS

Spoiler:
Benefits
Ranged spells.
Can heal, and cleanse status effects.
Can enchant party's weapon with elements.
Gains the ability to levitate.
Magic to strike enemy weakness.
Brontide! A really cool spell where you gain a magic electric whip!
Becomes a sorcerer later on. Loses the ability to heal and cleanse, gains more fearsome spells.

Faults
Very squishy.
Spells take a while to cast.
Non-ability attacks shoot magic, which does mediocre damage unless enchanted.
Kinda boring in my opinion.


Note these are based off my experiences, so there's probably more than meets the eye!

Edit**: Does anyone know why Iron Headgear doesn't cover the face? I think my game glitched and for some reason when I took off my helm, it didn't cover my face anymore. Now it looks like an awful hat. Back to the bandit's mask! :[

I'm curious, is it possible to have multiple love interests at once? I mean I know it's frowned upon to have a Harem, but Konami did it!

I, by accident got Selene, and now I look like I have a lolicon complex. [size=6]Not that I don't like being a lolicon now and then in my H-mangas...[/h]

Well, I guess if anything it's Quina's fault. She went and being a nun and all that...
(NOTHING IS A SPOILER, The Quina thing is more of a joke if you do that quest)

Some of these pawns people upload are just awful by the way. I'm always looking for a mage, that puts item enchanting and healing the party as a priority, but they're always mow-down offensive and end up getting incapped.

<3 my Kagami. She's the best tank pawn ever. Unfortunately I'm swapping her vocations in search of new and better augments. So I'm using a new tank pawn from others, it's so heart breaking.

What level are you guys currently? I'm level 38 right now. Sadly, my Pawn is more geared than me. Of course, I mean that in a good way, I just happen to find her gear constantly, me? Not so much. Life of a ranger is a harsh one. She has a blade with a permanent fire enchantment. A bunch of armor pieces with all level 2+ enhancements, and maxed vocation on fighter. She's a damn brilliant tank. Virtually unkillable. Love her to death, why can't she be my love interest?

How can you have already beat it? I spent like 8 hours wandering the bloody fields. By the way, I'm level 30-something from being lost at night and being attacked by every god damn creature on the planet.

The worst night I ever spent was in the forest. It was almost pitch black, down to my last flask of oil, I just lost two of my pawns to water in the Watergod's Alter dungeon so it was just me and my main pawn which is a Fighter(Thank god her fighter volition is max'ed out, she's a fantastic tank), I was under attack by White Wolves and Saurians, ALL NIGHT LONG.

Also, is the any reason I ran into a stray dragon in the mountains? My pawns were freaking out like it was the 'main' dragon, which it clearly wasn't because of its size. I still had an impossible time fighting it. I was forced to flee.


None of the terms I said are spoilers. Matter of fact you can accidentally run into them if you're careless.

Also, Ranger Volition is so overpowered. Hard hitting, extremely high mobility and versatility due to "Instant Reset". Tenfold Flurry is basically a shotgun blast of arrows. Deathfire arrow just nukes all small targets, and comet shot is your handy dandy sniper rifle, exceptional stamina levels.

It's not the most 'user' friendly game if you're new to this type of thing, but the difficulty is just right hard enough to be called frustrating, since the 'restart' points are the absolute worst to come upon dying.

I play as a Strider, and I've gotta say. Playing a bowman if anything is still as OP as in Monster Hunter. Just like in Monster Hunter, you need to be prepared for everything.

This game is fantastic though!

Edit**: This is how Monster Hunter should've had its 'free-roam' unlike in Tri. It would've been nice to go to neighboring towns foraging nature for items while encountering unfriendly foes along the path. It was always a little lonely for me in that little shack in the bay.

I thought I'd share a good story with you fellers. There's a moral to it, never give up, never score-whore.

Recipe for Victory.
Spoiler:
Requires: Two competent teammates, in this case Kennen and Rumble.
Two feeding morons, in this case Nautilus and Tryndamere.
A score-whoring moneybags pussy-fest AP toon on the opponents team, in this case Teemo.
Champion: Poppy.

In the beginning of the match, Rumble asked for a leash so like a good ally I helped leash a blue golem, only for him to be AFK, he was minion slayed..twice.

Nautilus and Tryndamere fed a Teemo to the point where he was 8/0/0 on the bottom portion of the map. I, as Poppy and while solo'ing top VS Warwick & Singed held my ground and managed 4/1/1 on top solo. Ten surrender attempts from the Nautilus and 35 minutes later, I'm somewhat mildly geared. After playing guerrilla warfare with the enemy team I've managed to-- with the help of Ken and Rumble -- destroy all their side turrets and knock out two inhibs.

(Equipment at this point, Berserker boots, Trinity Force, Phantom Dancer, Blood Thirster, BF sword, and Dagger.)
The score is now 22(Us) - 57. Here's where it gets juicy.

The Teemo on their team is now 17-0-9. I'm at 12-5-3 by this point. I've been killed by Teemo 3 times, and every-time I've targeted him solo, he'd run off full speed to avoid fighting me. I've noticed a trend, Teemo runs away first chance he gets. So, I brew an evil plan in my mind.

They've just killed Baron.

They make a full scale rush on Mid. Volibear tanking alongside Singed, charge the mid inhib. Fizz charges in with Karthus. Everyone on their team targets me since I'm alone, OR SO THEY THINK. I diplomatic immunity the Teemo, and

OFF HE GOES LADIES AND GENTLEMEN.

He runs off in some retarded direction away from me. There, I proceed Heroic Charge Karthus into a shattered turret ruin stunning him and knocking off about 70%, he tastes the hammer and down he goes. Kennen jumps into the fray from the jungle right behind them as they invaded. He uses his hourglass and shock stuns the Voli, Fizz, and Singed, Rumble comes in and AOES hardcore, he is overheated from killing minions.

Karthus is dead from my onslaught, Fizz is the next to taste the Devastating hammer, Voli and Singed didn't stand a chance alone as tanks. I pick up the Quadrakill on Teemo who comes back running realizing the error of his ways only to take two blows before dying. Kennen catches the escapee Voli for the ace.

Ladies and gentlemen, We charged. Blindly into the enemy base full of super minions and took their nexus.

Final score. 27-57. Good game gentlemen, good game.

Lesson of the story, no matter how bleak the situation never give up, and in this game never score whore; or the under-dog Poppy player scores the quadra-kill ace will rape your nexus.

Tonight I decided I'd show some love to Poppy since she was the first character I bought and dominated with. I managed a win of the day with a score of 29/7/19.

I played about another dozen matches with Poppy. Lost horribly on all of them. We ended up Surrendering at 20 all those games. Is it really that hard not to feed? Last time I checked, tower diving at Level 1, and letting Veigar get fed is not routine parts of the game. Need to get out of this losing streak rut, all that red on my match history is making me feel bad.....

Had one of the worst days in a long time. Played about a dozen matches. 2 w/ Kassadin, 4 w/ Corki, 3 w/ Shyv, 3 w/ Taric. Lost every single one of them. I didn't get my bonus for the day. I was unluckily paired up with the most incompetent players of all time tonight. Oh well, always tomorrow.

As unusual as it sounds. I wouldn't play this for fun factor, but the fact I can accurately explore the Family Guy world. I'm a pretty big fan of the show, so I guess it'd be kinda cool to explore the city of the show.

The soundtrack sounds phenomenal! I've been a fan of Atlus games, since Disgaea: Hour of Darkness on PS3. They recently released King of Fighters XIII, and Persona 4 is on the way!

Looks like fun, except for the UI which takes up most of the bloody screen. The artwork looks great though.
