but what if u look at it the other way,
"only half is empty" - optimism
"only half is there" - pessimism
doesn't it work?
That is the better way to put it actually. I was trying to put it that simply but, it didn't work out that way.

Human nature. Humans concentrate and remember the negative more than that positive. Its why optimists are relatively rare in comparison to pessimists.
