Individuality to me is all about your mind. I used to be one of those kids who hung out at hot topic while in high school. I wore the baggy bondage pants and everything. Then I realized yes, I am different from the average person but, I'm not an individual, I'm an elitist fucktard member of a subculture. So once I realized this I stopped caring about the clothing and music. Sure the elitist pricks would claim I sold out or whatever nonsense their minds could come up with to rationalize the change.
I wear jeans and t-shirts like everybody else. What separates me from everybody else who wears jeans and t-shirts is that I can think for myself. Only an individual can make that claim. Everybody else who can't support that claim are simply lemmings.

I'm not implying anything here, but after seeing the recent news of politicians "suddenly" retire or switch sides, I wonder if they're bribed. I don't recall their names but one governor became the new republican that turned the tides against the democrats and now I think a week ago, a democrat retired after Obama tried to persuade him not to; he looked pretty damn young too. Just my 2 cents.It's an interesting idea but, I'm not sure how much merit to give it. Though I wouldn't put it past the vermin in Washington to be guilty of accept bribes and other corruption. The current mentality that is floating around is they are jumping ship because they fear a backlash from the general population (i.e. distancing themselves from those who raise the ire of the masses).

This, is the very reason why he is losing and there is a slim chance of hope that he'll turn this fight in his favor. There are just too many he's tackling on and the corporate giants have too much power to deal with him. Many presidents and political figures have turned away from gun control because they were either bribed or feared their positions will be endangered; the same goes with health corporations. I didn't see any hope(how ironic) into changing these crappy traditions and the more he taxes on the rich, the more they retaliate by either buying their way out or moving elsewhere. Sadly he is a intelligent man and also have good intentions but he has inherited too much blunders and shame from his predecessor. All this and we're still in the middle of a pointless war.You also forgot the infighting in his own party between the moderates and the extremists. They had a super majority they could have rammed through whatever they pleased but, the Democratic party starting infighting. The extremists wanted too much and weren't willing to compromise with the blue dogs. (The people wanted health care reform. Not an industry nationalization). I could go on but, it's a long list.

Just throwing this out there but why have I never seen anybody mention building an underground compound in a manner similar to Burt Gummer in Tremors. The man stores years worth of M.R.E.'s in what is essentially a bomb shelter. Throw in a bank vault style door and you will survive the zombie apocalypse or live out the remainder of your life in a single room of whatever the hell you decide to make it.

He walked in expecting something completely different. Compliance, obedience, civility or whatever he had expected turned out to be a pack of very hungry and pissed off wolves.
On a side note: He has done at least 1 thing I agree with. He's helping us build more nuclear plants. At least everybody on both sides of the aisle can agree "he wasn't a total waste".
On the greater scheme of things. It doesn't look too good for ole Barry-O at the moment. Especially with the results of the recent CNN poll.

I wouldn't go to another country for an elective surgery the risk of infection or worse is too high. You can always earn more money. If it's a life and death surgery I'm not sure what I would suggest to the person. If we're talking "Mexican surgery" then you might as well wait for whatever it is to kill you instead. You will have a longer life span if you choose to wait it out.
If we are talking a subsidized surgery like Canada, England or Cuba then I suggest some sort of payment over there (assuming you can get the treatment I'm not sure about the laws on this topic). If they help you get the treatment then you can work out some sort of payment as a thank you for the help for subsidizing the cost for you to get well.
In America a lot of doctors are willing to make payment arrangements now just so they can skip all the paperwork that insurance companies put them through. Even more so if your on the system of Medicare and Medicaid then the doctor will be happy he doesn't have to file government paperwork (it's so tedious and hard that some doctors won't even accept Medicare or Medicaid insured people).
Insurance companies are in constant risk management when it comes to your policy. If the surgery is life threatening then you may see a rise in rates if you haven't paid enough to them over the lifespan of your policy to warrant the risk (i.e. to cover their costs of the surgery if you die). If you have a higher payment plan then you probably won't see much if any rise in your rates because they have made enough to cover the loss if you die during the surgery.
Better alternative. Save money up on the side and pay for the surgery with a H.S.A (Health savings account) or something. Putting your own cash (or limited amounts of the insurance company's) will safeguard you from a rate hike.

You waste your youth playing games that have no constructive influence on your life then you have nobody to blame except yourself when you get older.
There is nothing wrong with enjoying a game (or do any other idle activity) unless it's affecting your or your life in a negative fashion (ignoring health, friends,etc). The line between being positive (stress killer, mood enhancing) or negative is razor thin for most people. Take call of duty for instance, it won't improve the world by any definition but, if you are interacting with friends, family or co-workers then you're improving your social life by building on your relationships with out people. So it's kind of personally constructive.
To go a little further I'll use reading a book as another example. You are not improving the world by reading a random book but, if that book makes some impact on you by either giving you a creative spark or making you use that gray thing between your ears then it's being constructive. I may have not gained anything practical from reading "Napalm & Silly Putty" by George Carlin, it did give me some ideas and notions to think about.

I see no real problem with birth being nationality. Being born into a country is usually considered the basic way of being a citizen. A German couple gives birth to a child and the child is considered German regardless if the child's parents were born in Sudan before they immigrated to Germany. Now, if we could add a single clause to the 14th amendment I would prefer it to be
"All persons born of legal citizens or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside.
Edit: I slightly misread the original post. No, I don't think it's right or fair for a person who was born in a country is automatically a citizen. You should be born or at least one legal citizen for a parent. As someone mentioned earlier with the British Citizen or being a legal resident of the U.K.
