Perhaps I should add that the internet and real life are quite different, I understand the need to hold back on the harshness in the real world, but not over a forum... not when we're just strangers through a series of tubes. Your way of dealing with things has it's place, I just don't think that place is IB.

Nothing is really useful in this situation... we aren't an academic review board, we don't know his situation well enough to give him any real advice, this is a forum about cartoon pornography. So people toss out offhand comments and make assumptions about the situation, and sometimes those comments are more direct than you're accustomed to(in real life).

And yes, sometimes a demeaning/harsh tone is required to kick someone into gear. I can't tell you how many times I belittled slayer in the hopes that he would one day embarrass Canadians less, and while I wont admit it's perfect now he is far less of an embarrassment than he was 6 months ago.

You felt what Chlor said was too much, so you gave a "hug" and tried to make him feel better; opposing views are great like that, he got a hug and a kick in the ass. Just don't call someone out based on how you would feel in a situation, an emotional response you feel may not be what the op feels... unless you're alright with defending your point, because people(like me) will jump on you.

Dev used to like when I would roast someone so I'm not sure if he's enjoying the camp fire right now or not but it seems we've reached the end of where this discussion can go, I look forward to clashing with you again some time.

He already stated he doesn't need to be coddled... I'm not sure if he works anything like I do but a swift kick in the ass is often all I need to turn things around, so the cold hard truth is just as likely to help as the warm hug you want to give him. "lollazyfag" isn't unnecessary, it's what he(chlor) thinks, using prettier words wont change his opinion, nor the fact that it was the op's lack of "something" that cost the him his chance. If he studied hard and still didn't manage to pass then he didn't study hard enough, or properly(like asking for help with things you cant understand).

Really? I have to explain the hand jobs comment? I know it's not "hand jobs for heart ache", I stated he posted it in IB and not the chat section so I clearly acknowledged he doesn't want a friendly round of hand jobs to make him feel better... how did you manage to misunderstand that?

No one ever said trying to cheer him up was wrong, you're the one who's criticizing another's opinion because you felt it was harsh and "unnecessary". So why is it alright to cheer him up but not alright to splash him in the face with reality?

Seems I've been lax in allowing some friendly bullshit and limp dick tomfoolery to manifest itself in my IB... I will have to correct that.

That's good, my comment was directed at someone who thought people were being mean and it was unnecessary.

To be fair, saying how he feels isnt "no feasible reason", it's a very good reason.

He has a point as well, this problem does seem to be entirely on him. I have no one to blame for the fact that I didn't study hard enough in senior year, someone lying/sure coating it wont change the fact either.

He posted this is IB as well, opening himself up to all manor of criticism. He should have posted in the chat section if he wanted hand jobs for heart ache.

The degree is just to get you into the door of a good job, as stated above a shit degree + internship will lead to bigger things. The only two professions which really care about where you went are medical and law.

I'm going to keep America, Canada, Great Britain, Japan, China, Israel, South Africa, Egypt, Switzerland, South Korea, and Vatican City, with possible others which I may decide to keep based on whims in the future.

That being said, I wont annex anything unless the governor in place has misbehaved or acted against me.

You can't take over territories I own, so no long, you aren't taking over anything unless it's someone else who claimed it or you want to go to war with me.

You can't take over Canada as you have no forces and I'm unlikely to assign Canada to anyone.

For you to recreate the Soviet Union you'll need to either take over the countries(mostly in my ownership) or get them to agree to join you. Neya is the only person who currently owns a part of the former Soviet Union aside from myself.

Going to remind you guys that I wont give places I want so if your name isn't on the list I either don't know you well enough and you asked for too much/too large a country. Also I'm Roman Catholic so requesting the very center of my faith so you can torment my jesus-brothers might not be a smart call.
