@moonflows: That's what a rep log is for, and I do not support having a rep log in any way. A rep log tells you where, what, and who repped you on what post and where said post is. This will lead to rep-whores, rep-wars, complaining, so on and so forth.

The point though is to show what you got repped for specifically that you know that you did a good job in appealing to others. I don't believe this was done to make users understand what made others rep them and learn from that to post more stuff that gained rep in the same manner. It's like saying, "Good job, here's what you got a pat on the back for," kind of thing without the intention of making users repeat said performance. And if that ever happened, the regular members would get wise and stop repping others in the same fashion in any case. If you want to find out what you got +/- repped for, search it yourself. I care not to see a rep log instituted in any manner. Admin Raze has said it himself no rep log for the very same reasons I provide you with.

I forgot to mention that we can institute this page of FAQs into the main forum page itself rather than a sticky within a section of the main section. Ideally it go under the FAKKU main section of the forums as a section underneath the Front Page News section.

I hate to bump threads (because I never do), but I feel that this is an important issue that hasn't received enough attention or feedback from the community. (Don't wanna come off sounding like a pompous bastard, but I truly feel that this is in the best interests of FAKKU.) And if my posts are long, please bear with them and read them in its entirety rather than read one part and ignore the rest. You'll get why I'm supporting this so fervently.

That's pretty brilliant without having to go into a replog. It doesn't tell you who did it, but knowing who did it is something that we're better off not knowing anyways unless someone wrote "I +/- rep you." At least with this we know what we get +/- rep for, which is much better than before. I 100% support this.

So I assume with this installment that the idea of a rep-log will forever be burned in the incinerator, never to rise from the ashes again.

@ShaggyJebus: Well, by using posts than rep points kinda defeats the purpose of this thread, don’tcha think? Because as of now, reps have no meaning except making ourselves feel proud, so this will In fact give a purpose to rep finally. In fact, it was the admins themselves that shot down the idea of increasing FAKKU titles based on the # of posts. (I remember that particular thread response from Raze, so there’s almost no use in arguing for it.) To be honest, I just like the two titles as they are, Elite and Elder. I mean, after you get Elder, you pretty much are well known on the site with usually some rep to go with that, and you know the rules/FAQs, system, and forum layout by heart. I just don't think that there's any real harm in instituting a custom title. Plus it's only the users with reputation who are going pro for this anyways. I haven't seen a user with few reps actually going pro or con for this, which goes to support my theory that new members don't really care about the rep system. We don't have to make a big announcement on this, because after all, there isn't an official FAQ on reps either.

@aznstoner: This may be one opinion amongst the masses, but it's an opinion nevertheless. Most newcomers, and especially member lurkers/leechers don't even know or bother with rep system. Why? Because they don't have the posts to +/- rep people in the first place, and even if they did, they don't bother to figure it out. I didn't figure it out till around 50 or so odd posts, and someone explained it to me I believe. As I said before, newcomers come into FAKKU mainly looking for material to download, and while the forums are there for them to interact with the community, it's their choice to participate - we can't force them. And if they join, more often than not they are mostly unaware of the rules, unaware of the system. Even I took some time getting used to the system - I probably didn't understand the system like the back of my palm until I hit Elite status. Then I could say I knew nearly most functions and rules on FAKKU enough to never worry again. (This supports my argument for a clear and cut page of rules/FAQs) I think that elitism translates into seniority, and while I may have a rep of 23, I have helped countless others without ever asking for rep, and never get it. So sometimes I think rep isn't even the best way to judge a person's worth. In fact, I have never uploaded a single thing to this website, and I'm proud of my hard earned rep from posting alone. There are people here I respect with less rep than others, so that goes to show that the rep system isn't all as cracked up as it's supposed to be.

Frankly, I don't think people post with the intention of getting rep. I certainly don't, and it doesn't keep me from arguing with others. If I don't like your attitude or I don't agree with your position or you've done something wrong, I'll tell you straight up, no games. Sure, I might write a diatribe or rant or a dissertation to get my point across, but that's all it is, and the rep that follows depends on other peoples' reactions. The key thing is other peoples' reactions, and one person won't have the same reaction like another, so you never know who'll give you the rep, so don't bother to try and figure it out. I like discussing things here, and I don't believe that rep gets in the way of discussion, leastwise I've never seen something along the lines of this: "I have higher rep than you, so shut up you've got no place or say in this." I have never seen anyone use their rep as a bludgeoning tool on others, which is why I believe that elitism isn't a big issue since it's really related to seniority/frequency anyways.

As for a better system, I don't think one exists. I've already expressed my disapproval of the rep system (since this is the first site I've been on that uses it) because I honestly think it's just ballast - useless. The only way I can see it improved is like what eqym suggested, there's no de-repping of others so that we wouldn't worry about rep-logs or rep wars and whatnot. Other than that, I would rather scrap the entire rep system, but it's here to stay with the admins having no intention of providing a rep log for the users. I figure that people with higher reps can take advantage of the rep by giving themselves a little omake, just a little title that describes them underneath their FAKKU status. It's really not a special privilege because like I said, most people aren't aware of the rep system, and if they do, they don't bother with it or wonder about it. So yeah.

Btw, it's spelled suggestion. Some people might need to go back to preschool. (Or in FPOD's case, a momentary passing of dyslexia by transposing the two vowels.)

A Batch torrent that has the entire series in Xvid format, .avi file type. I don't know why you prefer .avi since h264 in .mkv provides clearer quality and slightly less space, and if you have the right codecs, you should be able to play most video file types anyways, like CCCP or K-Lite Megacodecs pack.

@KloWn: Well I was using the 2D fighting game for a base in moves and attacks. If we compare the abilities of both as a straight up battle, I think it's clear Saber would win, even without Avalon.

@All my knowledge on F/SN is from the anime and online surfing, namely wikipedia. I've never played the game because I can't stand long VNs, eroges, and even RPGs. According to the anime, I think Saber defeated Gilgamesh with Excalibur as well as Shiro's ability to imagine break the Avalon as part of himself, "the vessel" due to his magic abilities. This is what I'm going by, but it probably isn't as accurate to the true storyline. (The anime was said to be adopted from the main storyline with covering bits from other story arcs.)

I thought Saber never had Avalon to begin with. And if you put Avalon together with Excalibur, then the balance of a 2D fighting game would be pointless.

Now if we're just comparing stats and each character's abilities by themselves, I have no doubt Saber would win. That is if she had Avalon.

Come on guys, I'm taking this as a videogame - each character would have his or her own special moves, and Sephiroth's special would be the unblockable meteor summon. Realisitically, once the meteor reaches the stratosphere, it's speed will tremendously accelerate due to momemtum and acceleration. Of course, video games aren't realistic to begin with in most cases.

Yes, I do know what's Avalon, but I was not aware of its abilities. It was in my understanding that Saber never had Avalon to begin with and that it was Shiro who replicated the Avalon for her use.

I can imagine the opposite. Saber's whomping on Sephiroth, and he's down to his last bar of health with fully charger meter... then whips out his omnislash move with a combination of a meteor that blots half the screen. Instant KO, hahaha.

@KloWn: I figure that a metoer plummeting to Earth would be traveling pretty darn fast, at least well above Mach 5 and probably in the tens. If Saber can move at mach 13, that's like teleportation - I didn't think she could do that.
