My parents used to put a lot of pressure on me; however, a lot of it was self-inflicted, as my younger sister was super academic and overachieving (still is). Now that I'm older, they let me decide how my schooling will affect me: make the best of it or not. I need to improve in many ways but they know I try.
So sometimes they'd even stand up for me in cases where I was clearly at fault; now I often have no way to save my own ass from my own foolishness. Not that I'm not glad for what they did, but I could have used better discipline in certain aspects of life.
