The only rational reason I see that they'd do this is because of piracy. I don't know if that would be hurtful enough to a company like EA though
But this just is a load of crap. There are a few of situations that could make this very unfair such as if your console fails and dies so you have to get a new one or you want to play on a friends console.

Wearing cat ears out everyday like that is a no. I remember one time at this store in the manga section, I was looking at some books and some girl was talking to this person saying some random anime stuff trying to be cute. Then she said her name was something, couldn't remember. but said she preferred to be called Mai.
