I am just reading the replies to this thread now so thank you everyone for the emails :D

I can relate. Usually I am very confident around women, but recently I walked into one of my classes on the first day, sat down next to a girl who I kind of knew through some other friends, and was COMPLETELY blown away by her with the first few words out of her mouth. All of my established confidence and comfort being around women completely went out the window, like you said, I turned into a "blithering idiot".

Now it's a month or so later and we talk a lot outside of class, but I am still completely into her. I don't think our relationship will go in the direction I would like for it to, but I am going to keep trying.

Here are some thoughts may help. The majority of the time when I start getting involved with a girl, I lose interest early on. Not because they are boring or unattractive, but because the "thrill of the chase" disappears. This mostly happens after the first hook up, my thought process is "Mission Accomplished", and I mentally move on. However, every single time I am involved with a girl and accomplishing that goal becomes difficult, I get hung up on them and really start to crush bad which 90% of the time results in me failing. I think girls are the same way deep down. They think "OK this guy is a sure thing if I ever need something, I don't need to put forth any effort" instead of "I really like this guy and I don't know if he likes me, but I want him to".

What it comes down to is just have confidence. Even if you don't think highly of yourself at all, have confidence. And if you need to, convince yourself that you are confident.

Well the contest was looking for one winner, which was tkhnoman. The winner won a prize and everyone else hopefully had fun competing.

I thought I mentioned somewhere that the chosen banner would most likely remain up for a week or so and then we would revert back to the old one.

The only reason we reverted back to the old one is because (as you have hopefully noticed) I frequently add little things to the banner every now and then for fun. I have the blank template of the banner and when I find an image that amuses me I slap it on there. I actually have a lot of fun making them so chances are it will continue.

However you made me think, why not throw up some of the other user created banners every now and then? So I think I'll start doing that in a few days.

This is actually a huge problem that is just starting to arise.

It happens when there are 1000+ users online. The server is getting bottlenecked with all of the connections, so things start to run really slowly.

I am going to dedicate some time over the weekend to try to improve things, but until then it will continue whenever there are that many people online.

The image section is down for maintenance, I want to fix up a few things.

I mentioned last week that I was working on a new view online page, and it is finally done! Here is a quick list of some of the new features, but you can check out the full thread here. Use the manga in this update to try it out and let me know what you think.

Known Problems:
Internet Explorer 6: The left/right hover navigation DIVs on the side of the image do not change color/cursor when hovered. This is because IE6 does not support CSS hovering, the only fix is to use Javascript which I have no intention of doing.
Safari: Increasing the page font size more than twice breaks the layout of the view online page. I honestly have no idea why or how to fix this.

Dark/Lights Off Mode
The old feature of "dark/lights off mode" (changing the page to be entirely black with very dark colors for viewing at night) has been removed. This was not removed because I did not like it or was unwilling to recreate it, but rather now that the entire page is styled externally, I would rather YOU make new styles for the page and make the dark stylesheet and other variations of it.

What this basically means is that by changing the stylesheet you can make the view online page look however you like. There is an excellent Firefox addon called Stylish that will index all created stylesheets for a page and allow you to switch between them. Obviously there are none for the view online page yet as I am just releasing it now, however I encourage you to; make some styles, submit them to Stylish, post about it on the forums, and people will use them.

and you will need some basic knowledge of CSS in order to change it. I believe Stylish has some built in features that allow instant styling of a page.

Well the original use for it was so that more trusted users could access features of the site that first time users should not have access to. For example editing manga, however not it is used as the mark of a users respect on the forums.

Well reputation has been around for over a year now, this topic has come up a few times (logging who gives negative reputation). I assure you that YOU may not know who is giving you negative reputation, but I can easily find out.

That being said, if I think the system is being abused I will take the steps to prevent/fix the problem.

Even I have received quite a bit of negative reputation, it happens to everyone.

Are there any good web designers or coders out there? I frequently find myself working on several different things at once and I tend to lose track of them pretty quickly.

This isn't a job but more me looking for someone who is constantly in front of a computer (like myself) to bounce ideas off of and work together on whatever projects we may come up with.
