Sorry for making so many threads, the previous one bugged out and I was double posting, so i deleted it. I will defer release of this app until I am satisfied with a version 1.0 of the application. Sorry for the inconvenience caused.
If you are the creator of the topic you are allowed to double post, I'm looking forward to 1.0!

Wani's artists weren't even aware of this deal, what makes you think that they're going to earn any notable sum from this? It's the same deal with crunchyroll and all other overseas distributors. You'd have to be a fool to think that you're actually contributing, rather than just stroking your own ego and thinking that you have some sort of moral high ground.I have been avoiding this thread up until now, but no more! Your stupidity has drawn me here because your posts are bringing down the overall intelligence of this particular forum (which is already pretty low). You have made statements claiming that you know how the industry works, you know what motivates the companies in Japan, and you somehow know the intricate details of our partnership with Wani. But after reading through your posts it is clear you don’t know about any of those things, so I’ll do my best to educate.
Our deal with Wani benefits both Wani and the artists, the artists get their own cut of everything. We wouldn't have entered into this partnership if the artists weren't benefiting from it. Every book we publish is signed off by that particular artist. Furthermore, our relationship is so close that we are able to release exclusive merchandise for FAKKU that you can’t get anywhere else in the world (similar to how an artist releases exclusive merchandise for a particular store in Japan).
Now unlike you (feel free to correct me if I’m wrong on this), I have met with many of the publishers in Japan and I know what motivates them and what their goals are. They want the market to grow. When the market grows they sell more books, when they sell more books the artists make more money, when the artists make more money they draw more hentai, and when the artists draw hentai we all get to masturbate! Do you see the trend here? It’s a positive one. This is how business works and that is what I want to accomplish with FAKKU.

Why do you think crunchyroll isn't available in Japan? To further the development of the medium and gain support? No, they don't want Japanese fans to get their hands on what they're selling elsewhere, but much cheaper. Now all of your posts in this topic lacked a basic knowledge of how the industry works, but this one most of all. Crunchyroll doesn't have the distribution rights to broadcast or sell anime in Japan, the Japanese companies retain those rights (as they should). That’s the only reason Crunchyroll doesn’t show the same titles in the United States that they show in Japan, or else they would. The Japanese companies decide how they want to distribute the content given the market conditions in Japan, which are very different from the rest of the world.
Now the reason FAKKU releases will not be available in Japan is entirely different than Crunchyroll, our releases are uncensored. Uncensored pornography is illegal in Japan and if it were made available there people would get arrested. That's one of the many reasons why our releases are going to be so awesome, no one has ever seen them uncensored other than the original artist!
Also I am locking this topic because I am a huge jerk.
That's awesome! I'll keep an eye on this, I was planning on writing up some SDK's for Python/Javascript/PHP and this would be a fine addition.
Today is the official launch of the FAKKU API and the FAKKU Developers website! The FAKKU API allows developers to access all of the public information available on FAKKU. The goal is to give you all of the tools you would need to rebuild any part of FAKKU that does not require authentication, all public information is available anonymously. You can learn all about it on the brand new FAKKU developer website:
There is no rate limiting on the API so use it as much as you like. All data is returned as valid JSON and can be accessed over both HTTP and HTTPS. Any valid FAKKU URL can be turned into a valid REST API call by changing the subdomain of the URL from "www" to "api", as seen in the following example:
https://www.fakku.net/users/jacob becomes https://api.fakku.net/users/jacob
I have also created the FAKKU Developers forum where users can talk with their fellow developers, make requests for additional features, and keep up to date on all changes with the API.
I'm excited to see what you guys build!

Thank you so much Jacob!! :)One other question, what are the chances of these pages getting an API implementation? Not sure if it's intentional, but these pages provide an aggregate list of all artists/series/translators/... from both Manga and Doujinshi
https://www.fakku.net/artists
https://www.fakku.net/series
https://www.fakku.net/translators
https://www.fakku.net/popular
https://www.fakku.net/downloads
etc.
Shouldn't be too hard to add them, I honestly just forgot to implement those calls for the API.

Regarding the existing Fakku API on https://api.fakku.net/. For those interested, replace the "www" in the Fakku URL on any page with "api"https://www.fakku.net/manga/popular -> https://api.fakku.net/manga/popular
It works very well so far, however, there are some pages that display empty JSON data.
https://api.fakku.net/manga/artists
https://api.fakku.net/manga/translators
https://api.fakku.net/manga/series
It would be awesome if these could be fixed, thanks in advance!
Thanks for pointing this out, I'll get these API calls fixed.
Everything on the FAKKU store right now is completely unrelated to FAKKU Books, they are all just items imported from Japan. You're comparing the FAKKU store to a Japanese website which is not a good comparison. There are obviously a lot of costs associated with bringing those items over to the United States that aren't obvious (we have to fly to Japan for one). The majority of the doujins on the store were purchased 2 years ago when the exchange rate was a lot worse. We also bag and board everything, cover the costs of shipping and handling, and the costs associated with bringing them back and going through customs. On top of all that we need to make a profit so it's worth doing in the first place (around 10 - 15%), there is a lot involved in that price point.

It's all his fucking fault.
Or not. I don't know.
Can you honestly say that Wani weren't shekel starved enough to have issued a DMCA notice for other people's work themselves instead of getting Jacob to do it for them?
Considering this only started when they made a deal, pretty much.
Again, you're completely wrong. Wani sent out takedown notices to everyone back in April, including FAKKU. That's how we started talking with them.

Saying that doujin artists will make a profit from Fakku publishing books is like saying animation studios get adequately compensated by Crunchyroll.read: they don't
Like I've said, all artists get a direct cut from everything sold. I wouldn't want it any other way.

https://www.fakku.net/forums/feedback-suggestions-and-support/exhentai-purgeYou should let Wani do all that though. Now you're just public enemy no 1
We haven't sent a single DMCA to anyone, the only thing I did was request that E-Hentai not upload our books once we release them. And we haven't released them yet.

The only group making profits off of this are Fakku and their staff, and Wani. The artists get shit, which is bad. How is that a good thing? You have no idea what you're talking about, so just stop posting. We work directly with both the artists and Wani, the artists get a cut of everything sold.
