I have to disagree, mastelists are often useful as they link to stuff that comes up time after time: patches for games, translation patches for VNs, download links, you name it.

Granted, these have little to do with discussion, but for threads *not* discussing stuff, masterlists are a godsend to stem the incessant stream of requests.

So, I've been a user of Fakku! for almost three years now, and I've watched the site change. It's grown, become more streamlined, and continued to stay active and thriving over the years. Though I've not participated in the forums an extensive amount myself, one thing I do take the time to do on a more regular basis is comment on uploaded works.

I like the current comment system as a whole, but one thing I find somewhat lacking is the extent of moderation. I'll be honest in speaking that this part of it is entirely conjecture, but from what I've observed, content that would probably not be desirable, whether spam, pure trolling, or otherwise, will get downvoted by the users, and eventually hidden. It's a decent format, but I believe having a more present moderation force for comments might not be such a bad thing.

I understand that there is most likely dedicated moderation to the forums as a whole, and have observed the rules myself and have tried to abide by them over time. However, I feel that these rules could be adapted and extended into the commenting system as well. To go into mild specifics, under the Do Not Spam rule there is mention of imagespamming.
This could be taken to also mean that posting comments that have an unreasonable amount of breaks, thereby stretching the page unnecessarily could be disallowed. And ASCII art that takes up a large majority of the page, while consequently frequently being upvoted and hiding other, potentially constructive and on topic comments would also be curbed.

Basically my point there is that I believe a set of rules specifically pertaining to commenting could be a good thing to have. I also think to partner that, it would be a nice feature to be able to report comments that were in violation of those proposed rules, or comments that are made by spambots, or other similar junk accounts.

I understand in order to do all of this, somebody must take the time to create the rules and make sure they fit the comments section without restricting what people can say, and I also understand moderating report logs would require extra manpower, so it's not exactly a simple matter of 'just do it'. However, this is all simply a few suggestions/thoughts I've had as I've read uploaded content to the site.
