Last week we started pre-orders for the official English release of Volume 1 of Urotsukidoji: Legend of the Overfiend, launching on December 8th. If you backed the Kickstarter campaign you should be receiving your paperback soon, and you'll receive a digital redemption code in your email sometime in the next week.
We're doing something special for the release of this book, we're bringing Toshio Maeda back to America. We've teamed up with Floating World Comics in Portland, OR (where our offices are located) and the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund for an official launch party for the book! Toshio Maeda will be on hand singing paperback copies and doing a short Q&A with fans. Additionally we hope to have some limited artwork on display and for sale at the event.
If you aren't able to attend the release party, don't worry! The Comic Book Legal Defense Fund has you covered. Between now and December 6th if you make a donation to the CBLDF you can have the book personalized and signed and you'll receive the book on a high quality CBLDF-branded bookplate. Not only do you get a one-of-a-kind copy of the book, but you also get to help a great organization that protects comic publishers and readers around the world. You can find more details on the CBLDF website.
If you are in the area, we recommend you visit for a once in a lifetime chance to meet Toshio Maeda in person and ask him any perverted tentacly questions you have. For more details on the release party and signing, visit the Floating World Comics event page.
WHEN: Thursday Dec. 8th, 6-9pm
WHERE: Floating World Comics, 400 NW Couch St. Portland, OR

In the United States art is protected free speech. Comics are protected free speech. Hentai is protected free speech. When someone gets in trouble for reading a comic, or when a publisher gets in trouble for publishing a book, the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund is the organization that steps in and protects them. Without organizations like the CBLDF who have fought for our rights over the years, we wouldn't be able to publish the content you see here on FAKKU.
As readers of comics we don't always think about the larger community we're a part of. If someone gets in trouble for owning a comic that is too violent (like Castillo v. Texas did in 1999), or someone gets in trouble for drawing a comic that is too obscene (like Mike Diana did in 1994), most of us just shrug our shoulders and think "I hope that doesn't happen to me". I was guilty of thinking this way for a long time, and then I realized that attacks like that on individual members of our community are an attack on all of us. No one should get in trouble for reading or drawing a comic.
When we first announced FAKKU Books over two years ago, I made a point to give a shout out to the CBLDF. Over the years they have supported us and provided guidance as we've grown and at FAKKU we are happy to call them our friends. With that said, today I am proud to announce that FAKKU is joining the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund as a corporate member. We are joining prestigious publishers such as Image Comics, DC Comics, Dark Horse Comics, and many others in helping to support the incredible organization that is the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund.
You can expect a lot of collaborations with the CBLDF in the future, and the first is an event with Toshio Maeda for Legend of the Overfiend (a book that has been banned in the past). So next time you're thinking of donating to a charity, consider the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund!

The Comic Book Legal Defense Fund provides legal and educational resources to protect the freedom to read comics. The organization's legal team has aided numerous manga readers facing prosecution for possessing adult manga, including a notable victory in R. v. Matheson. Manga readers facing a First Amendment emergency should always make CBLDF their first call for support.

Today marks 10 years since FAKKU launched from a small college dorm room in Massachusetts. It's hard to believe how much FAKKU has grown over that period, going from a small scanlation website to the largest official English hentai publisher in the world. We recently passed a big milestone on FAKKU, we've published over 1,000 uncensored chapters for subscribers from over 350 individual Japanese artists. That's over 350 artists that are now getting support directly from their fans outside of Japan, and that's all thanks to you.
To celebrate, we have some big announcements today! Starting immediately, we will be simulpublishing our fourth magazine, Comic Kairakuten BEAST. Along with the announcement today we are releasing 10 brand new chapters from the latest issue all at once, and going forward we will be publishing every issue of the magazine alongside Comic Kairakuten, Comic Shitsurakuten, and Comic X-Eros.
The best part? Subscribers get access to the new magazine at no additional charge, you just get more content every month for being awesome. If you're a new subscriber, for the entire month of December we are doing an anniversary promotion where the first month of your subscription only costs $10. That means every chapter on FAKKU costs you less than a penny, there has quite literally never been a better time to join.
But that's not all, we're bringing Toshio Maeda to the United States for a release party for Legend of the Overfiend, FAKKU just joined the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund as a corporate member, and we have started pre-orders on our 32nd book... Let Loose with Lewd Boobs!
Head over to the forums to learn more about all these announcements, or if you're only interested in the hentai... enjoy!

Well I've just noticed something on https://www.fakku.net/black-friday-2016 page, it is said that "Everything on FAKKU is completely uncensored" ,but there is Doujin that is apparently censored,https://www.fakku.net/hentai/cure-assort-english, It is kinda weird saying that everything on fakku is uncensored, when you have censored doujin staring right into your face ,is it not? Thanks for pointing this out, I have updated the text on the page to point out that all FAKKU releases are uncensored. We are not the publisher of that particular doujin.

Also for people who got the signed copy is it possible to request where the signature will be? (I really wanted it directly on the cover)Yeah, we can accommodate that. Can probably get your name signed as well

I don't know how kickstarter usually works as this was my first time. But, is it an usual thing to have retail price being cheaper than kickstarter pledges for the same item?
The kickstarter price for digital version was 15 dollars, and physical was 40 dollars, while non kickstarter prices are 10 and 30 dollars respectively.
I thought it would be the other way, giving some incentives for the backers.
Along with the other items in the Kickstarter, we'll be giving out digital achievements here on FAKKU and other rewards that only Kickstarter backers will receive so you feel like being an early backer was worth it. It's thanks to the backers that we were able to publish this book!

I see volume 1 has been posted but it's telling me I need to purchase it even though I've already paid for it from the Kickstarter. Is this something you will be updating so those of us who backed it can read it?Yeup, we're updating everything now! If you backed the Kickstarter, don't purchase the digital edition on the site. It will be added to your account between now and the release date. We'll either do it automatically based on email, or send out redemption codes to each backer (probably this one).
The 2nd edition of the slipcase is a bit more durable than the 1st to survive shipping. Due to the materials used, that's why it might look a little different.

Agreed, we need to make some improvements to the store and main website integration. Hopefully early next year.

Toshio is coming to visit the FAKKU offices in December! He'll be doing the book signings here in person along with some other stuff we haven't announced yet, maybe we should do a live Q&A with him or something? My suggestion: Let him sign some extra copies and give them away randomly to people who buy the book in the online store

It's without the nipples so we can make it appeal to a larger audience that might not buy it otherwise. That is the only censoring we've done in the bookThanks for the information. I don't understand that tho. I thought the targets are people who like stuff like that which does include nipples.
The other cover artworks for your books have them as well so that's what I'm wondering.
It would be nice to have the cover artwork with nipples for the download versions as an alternate or just the pic in the forum in the same quality so you can change it yourself if you like.
Or you could print it without nipples on a card to place on front of the shrink-wrapped manga and if you remove the plastic you have it uncensored on the cover itself, just a suggestion ^_^
We want nipples!
Oh and to followup on this, we'll include the raw cover (with nipples) in the digital edition!

Angel Club has a lot of work which interests a group of those that aren't all that into Vanilla work. Not only that the art in it is really amazing. I think it'll also be a great addition because there is so few translated work on the projects inside ANGEL Club. We need some non-vanilla content.
I have met with this publisher and discussed the magazine, I agree it would be awesome to get on FAKKU! Possibly in the future, but we've mostly decided on our next magazine (it's not ANGEL Club). We'll announce our 4th magazine later this month!

Might be an odd question, but does anyone know the name of the Editors in Chief/ head editors for the Wani magazines? They're all pretty private and don't really put their names out there, though sometimes at the back of the books you can see the artist comments mention them.
ShindoL has left a comment on Metamorphosis! Head on over to the chapter to see what he said about the release.

I've also made it so artist accounts are verified, if an artist leaves a comment with their official account it will show up in red with a check mark.
