To celebrate everything we'll be doing next week at Anime Expo, this weekend we are going to have our first ever...
FAKKU FREE WEEKEND
Tell your friends, family, coworkers. Everything on FAKKU, including books and magazines, is free to read for all registered users. Everyone will have access to our entire catalog of content to read online. And if you're already a subscriber, you'll be getting 3 free days of subscription time added to your account.
In this thread our staff has picked out some of our favorite releases to get you started. If you like something you read, please consider subscribing or buying the digital copy of one of our books. If you're already a subscriber, share some of your favorites for the new users!
But other than that.. close the windows, dim the lights, and have yourself a good time this weekend.

Regarding the special gift. How will you guys know if we went to all 5 panels? Also, two of the panels are back to back and based on my experience last year, the first panel was room cleared and in addition the line for the next was cut off.Hmm that is true, it is currently extremely hard to attend all of our panels.
I'll change the goal to at least 3 of our panels to make it more possible.

Physical... Im most likely in the minority but can't do anything with a digital copy...Im also waiting for bestiary 3 physical.. I bought the digital and haven't even read it cause I'm patiently waiting for that physical release.. if it even comes at this point.
We weren't directly involved in the release of Bestiary 3 so we can't speak to whether or not it's getting a physical release. That said, any doujinshi we publish ourselves (like this one) will not have a physical release.

The price per page compared to FAKKU's other offerings is rather high. Yet it's definitely not unreasonable compared to the real, physical item. But comparatively just about everything else gives a lot more bang for my buck. It almost seems like you're kind of competing with yourselves here. Of course if these are still being added to the subscription library, then that makes it even harder to judge.I agree that the price point is a tiny bit high. $5 is half the price a book, but probably has about 1/10th the amount of content of one. Maybe that's the minimum price Fakku needs in order to make the smallest bit of profit, but eh.
Our books are just too good of a value! This doujinshi came out the same time in Japan (a few days ago), the English release on FAKKU is actually less expensive than the Japanese release.
We've teamed up with Toshio Maeda to publish a completely remastered edition of Urotsukidoji - Legend of the Overfiend.
Slowly but surely, we will be adding more doujinshi back to FAKKU. Doujinshi are works that are published directly by the artist/circle, not through a Japanese publishing company. That's why doujinshi are mostly based on existing anime, because the artist released it on their own as a fan themselves. Bosshi's XXX Mix and Cure Assort are examples of doujinshi that we (and Yuri-ism) have worked with the artists to release. All doujinshi will be available on the store.
Part of publishing doujinshi and bringing it back to FAKKU requires us to convince each individual artist that working with FAKKU is a good idea. Remember these artists mostly view foreigners as pirates which is something we are responsible for given our history.
During my last trip to Japan I met with several circles and discussed bringing their work back to FAKKU legally. Everyone I spoke with is excited to work with us, we've made a massive impact on the Japanese market and they see FAKKU as a platform to release their work worldwide. Long-term, my goal is to allow for all content on FAKKU to be available to subscribers to read online with the option to purchase a high quality digital download for anyone interested. For now the plan is to release them as a purchasable items added to your library like our books, and then after a week or two they will be available to read for subscribers.
You'll be seeing a lot more doujinshi coming to FAKKU over the next few months, the first of which is "I Am a Succubus?" by TSF no F (a circled focused on telling genderbend stories). As always if you like something you read leave a comment! The artists/circles themselves now frequent FAKKU and read your feedback.

I know that Fakku used to have a list of all the updates pertaining to each individual book, but I am unsure of where to find it now? I'm just adding metadata to my files and would like to know when and what edition each book is.
Ahh yeah the download link update topic I think it was? You can find it here: https://www.fakku.net/forums/trash-bin/fakku-books-download-updates
We removed the sticky for it because it's pretty out of date.
And... it's live!
Absultely! At the end of the campaign (assuming it is successful) we will be giving out achievements on FAKKU for all backers.
