While I understand your frustration (indeed it is my own), you should probably refrain from yelling at new users. A good 90% of new forum users aren't going to read the rules upon joining, and it's not like the rules are written up very well anyway. It is unfortunate, but most people in the world are fairly careless and don't take much time to think things through before they do something.
If there's one thing I've learned from managing websites/services, it's that unless you slap new people in the face with the information they want, they're not going to know how to find it. (Even that doesn't work sometimes.) And since Jacob isn't going to stick huge red text on the front page saying why the downloads are gone, us moderators have to clean up.

I would suggest Asus over Acer. I haven't had any problems with Toshiba, but apparently lots of people have. IBM's Lenovo series is pretty durable, I hear.
