I think it should still be the age of consent at 16 but totally legal at 18. It's sort of a messy situation though.I lost my virginity at 16, granted - if my ex had gotten his way it would have been at 15. It's sort of scary, because at the time you think your ready, and you really are. Your body screams to reproduce when you're around the opposite sex you're attracted to.
People who can sit there and judge and say "I'll never have premarital sex" are just jackasses who suck cock and eat pussy to cut the edge off from actual sex. Every person I've known who stood by their beliefs and waited did everything but the final deed. I'm pretty sure their god would find that just as perverse.
Anyway. If I had kids I'd be scared, because to me 15-16 is too young, but when I look at myself I wasn't any better. Physically they're ready, your body wants it and it wants it bad.
Mentally though, if anything should happen there's no way they could support a child. Hell I'm of legal age now and there'd be no way I could support a child.
The way things are now is fine. <-- you could skip that whole rant and just read this.
I think the disparity between the physical capability to have sex and the psychological capability to process it comes out of the disparity between the evolutionary need to reproduce quickly and a modern society with 80-year lifespans. Along the course of human evolution, the ability to reproduce at younger ages made mankind more likely to survive as a species, even if the average lifespan wasn't much more than 30 years. If you can have children younger, you can have more of them, and train them better to survive so that they can do the same.
But in modern society, it's not necessary to have children at 15; 15-year-old's are still seen as children, and need more preparation for a more advanced world. Basically, our bodies couldn't change as quickly as our minds and our society.
Although, if the world really DOES end, the ability to reproduce young could once again become a preferable trait.
In any case, I don't think that many people consider the law when they are teenagers as far as sex is concerned. I think the only real consideration age of consent laws typically get are when 30-year-old's want to fuck minors. Which is wrong. But I don't think it's wrong for two 17-year-old kids to fuck each other. I think some states already have laws like this, but I think the best way to do it is to say that when you are 16, you can have sex with people up to age 18 or 19, and when you turn 18, you are open game.

every see the day after tomorrow. yes i know its a movie but all of that is true.
whats that saying you don't shit were you live or something like that. same thing.
That movie was a dramatized version of a remote possibility. Real ecological disaster would not happen so quickly.
And the phrase is "Don't shit where you eat." or "don't shit where you sleep." That's not a jab at you or anything, just a clarification.
But I don't see why it should matter how old you were when you tried to kill yourself. It's not hard to die. Anyone who fails to kill themselves either to much of a failure to accomplish the simplest of tasks, or they don't really want to die and it's one of those cry for help things.
Maybe I should be more sympathetic towards people who feel like that's their only choice, but I don't. Life sucks, get used to it or quit.
Whoever wrote that must know it would never get passed, so I have to wonder...WHY would they write it? you don't just do something like for no reason...
I've gone back to listening to some older bands lately, although I'm not entirely sure why.
namely, Killing Joke
and
The Smiths (even though Morrissey can be a fucking hippie sometimes; he's still probably the most awesome vegetarian alive.)
Also, The Offspring; still making good music.
I'm probably forgetting something, though...

to rbz123 i did say that but i never said i want it to happen.and its a scientific fact.
to Dante1214 i believe in evolution but i don't believe that humans are a virus of any kind. and yes if we all disappear it would improve the ecosystem not really but it will get better over time. we are killing the planet. i think you know this. and don't call me stupid i don't think i every called you that. i am only saying whats fact that's all.
also this is the second time you told me to kill my self wtf is that.
I called you stupid because you believe things to be fact that are not.
Humankind disappearing would not be good for the planet.
I'm not saying that mankind doesn't do harm to the planet, I'm just saying that our elimination is not good for the planet either, and you probably think humans do more damage to the environment than we actually do anyway.
And I didn't tell YOU specifically to kill yourself this time. I said that any human who believes the human race to be so negative on the earth can help the problem by killing themselves.
we do allot more harm then good.
that's a fact sorry if you cant see it.
in fact if we die off nothing happens the plant would not care we do nothing for it so we don't matter at all.
so every human that thinks we are hurting the earth should kill them self's. that would be a big help. so we die and the ones that say fuck the planet live. i don't think so.besides i already did the killing my self thing i did not care for it. i just think more should care about there actions. but fuck it i really don't care. i just live my life the best i can that's all i can do. i just said the truth.
to give you something to do go read up on what we are doing to the sharks.
I'm not worried about the feelings of the plants.
You are operating from false assumptions. You seem to think that the human race is removed from the ecosystem of the earth, firing darts of evil at it. Despite it sounding like hippie bullshit, the easiest way to say it is that humans are connected to all other living things on this planet. It's not as simple as, "remove humans and the problem goes away." That's like cutting off someone's arm because they have an infected finger.
In fact, your own example is flawed. You basically seem to be saying that human life does nothing for plants. Which is wrong. There are some plants that are entirely dependent on humans to exist, but that's not a large portion at all, the bigger issue is that there are close to 7 billion humans on earth, all helping to produce the carbon dioxide necessary for plants to live. Would the loss of this eliminate all plant life? No, probably not, but it would certainly hurt it.
There is also the matter of fertilization of soil, which is also affected by human life.
My point here is that human's interaction with the Earth's ecosystem is not limited to the negative things that hippies like to point out. We are integrated into it as much as any other living thing. If all humans simply disappeared, the entire planet would have to scramble to adapt.
I realize that humans do bad things to the planet, but it's more important to focus on helping an ecosystem we are a part of than to see ourselves as a problem outside of it. Because we aren't outside of it.
Which is my whole point here.
And I don't think that people who see any harm humans do to the planet should kill themselves, I think that anyone who sees the human race itself as a pox upon the earth should kill themselves. By their own logic, it could only help.
Also, you said you did the killing yourself thing, but are clearly still alive, so you are also a failure.
You really should feel bad about yourself.

The dirtiest song I know is Fuck Her Gently by Tenacious Dthats not dirty but a good advice every humanbeing should follow
It was the dirtiest song I could think of off the top of my head.
Here's a vid for anyone who has not heard it.
Watch the real vid
I know Tenacious D pretty well since I have all there songs also watched the superb movie
and of all tenac songs kick a poo is the dirtiest for me
That song is great if for no other reason than that it contains both Meatloaf and Dio.
Also, as far as dirty songs go, Put it in Your Moth by Akinyele is pretty dirty.
@Itdan676: To be clear, I don't think you are an asshole, just a bit stupid.
Looking at things from a religious point of view, humanity is more important than other physical creatures because we are created in God's image. But religion is stupid, and should be ignored, especially when trying to speak rationally.
I know religion has only been brought up a little bit in this thread, but I thought I would address it and get it out of the way real quick there.
Even if humans are a race of idiots, we are also the only creatures that can recognize idiocy. And regardless of our intelligence, we are a significant part of the ecosystem. If humans never existed, the conditions of the earth would likely be vastly different; but not necessarily better. No one can now tell what the earth would be like if humans never existed, and now that we have existed this long, for us to suddenly disappear would be devastating to the ecosystem of the planet. Not that the planet would die, but it would certainly not be GOOD.
There isn't such a huge gap between humans and other living things. Man was created naturally, just like everything else, we simply have a larger capacity for creation and destruction than other animals do.
If you believe in evolution, then there is no reason to see mankind as a "virus" or anything. And if you don't believe in evolution, than you have no place in a rational conversation.
And if you DO see humanity as inherently bad or viral, there is a very simple solution; kill yourself.

i would go for option B again if the girl was not suicidal.but then the third option seems to work out best. but if a girl/guy really likes you, then why not go out with him/her? its hard to tell in the world of love. everyone is always unsure.
Because maybe you don't like that person?

According to what? What Law states that there is an end. The concept of infinity is that there is no end, it just continues on forever. Sorry if I sounded derogatory, I was just trying to provide a counter-thought.First you have to remember that infinity is a concept. Also, infinity cannot either exist in all circumstances, or not exist in all circumstances.
Anyways, logic dictates that for there to be a beginning, there has to be an end. The universe can't be infinite because the universe had to begin somewhere (big bang, big crunch). A theory of infinite universes exist when you put the big bang and big crunch theories together to get an oscillatory universe. Since technically all matter is drawn back to a single point to undergo a big bang.
While logic as we understand it does dictate that there is an end after a beginning, who's to say there is a real end when dealing with oscillating universes? The concept (Big Bounce) is just a cycle of universe birth (Big Bang), death (Big Crunch), and rebirth (Big Bang). The oscillating universe theory is just one of many, it hinges on what astronomical concepts you adhere to.
All matter being drawn back to a singe point is also one of many concepts. There exist others, such as heat death, that states that the universe will reach a point of maximum entropy where everything is evenly distributed, which would result in no life but the continuance of the universe itself. All of this is hypothetical, its impossible for us at this point to truly know what is happening.
Getting back to the tenth dimension, it could turn out to be the last as could be the eleventh, or the twelfth. String Theory allows for extra dimensions. Just because everything we know is contained in ten dimensions doesn't mean that that is all there is.
When dealing with theoretical physics, certainties are rare and theories and concepts get changed all the time.
That's because "Theoretical physics" is not science. It might one day contribute to science, but currently, it's more ideas than anything, since most of it is really provable or even testable. But it all sounds very cool and neat, and it generally sounds like it would make sense. But that doesn't make it true.
Plus it makes the writers for Star Trek and the like sound more professional when their space ships turn on their "Temporal Alternate Multiverse POrtal activationN"s.
With their warp physics and tachyon rays...

South Park.
Although that's not too abstract a reference.
Just saying.
And someone THAT annoying kindof deserves meeting up with a 40-year-old pervert on the internet. Maybe not the getting raped part, but just getting freaked out enough to realize how fucked up the internet can be.

Don't get me wrong, people suck, in general. But some have the capacity to be better.
That kid's fucked up.
On the other hand, a dude got his friends to help him antagonize and publicly humiliate his little brother.
So it's even more awesome.
