PS. Hope this sh*t blows up and you become the Donald Trump of hentai! I expect to see the first Fakku! stores opening up in a few years. (physical stores I mean cause that would be sweet)
selling in libraries, maybe, opening a real store, I've yet to find any editor who does that

You know, I can accept all this, removing free material to build up a pay site. It's been done before, and it makes total economic sense. What I can't accept, what really bothers me, is the holier than thou message. The people running the site saying that they're doing this "for the artists" so more material comes to the US. It's not for the artists, it's for the money. Own up to it Fakku, it's for the money. Nothing wrong with that, it's a solid business approach, just don't say otherwise.This-the hypocrisy is amazing-look at this quote:

Please do not promote pirating the works we release. So you pirate the work of others for a decade, but when YOU try and make money, it's suddenly a bad thing? You disgust me.
Kasaix wrote...
The hilarious thing about this is the irony now that Fakku is "legit", its being pirated which if I got all of the digital versions from the store would be $120 USD and if I wanted physical copies that would be around the $300 USD range.Yeah, that's funny. =)

why are some of the books priced at 25 USD and the rest 20 USD?Some are more expensive to produce. TiTiKEi has 100+ color pages, and Shoujo Material comes with a special jacket. We've covered these expenses without raising the price for certain books—for instance, it would've been reasonable for both Bosshi books to cost $22~23—but a few titles require a higher price.
It's also worth noting that these titles are 30% more expensive than a regular book in Japan, compared to our 25% increase.
Im in possession of all the released fakku books currently, and almost every book has the front cover peeling in two, like the front cover of the book is two pieces of thick paper stuck together. They are coming apart and its like a centimeter gap in between.
Idk if thats normal, I've purchased them all from different suppliers, Rightstuf, Amazon, and here on Fakku and they all share the same issue.
Just a heads up if you guys aren't aware of the quality issue with the books.
You mean something like this?
Spoiler:
If so that's normal, that's how they are in Japan.

If color pages are to take in consideration, Radical Gogo Baby (by Bosshi) will surely cost more than even TiTiKEi, considering the totality of the book is in color.
Still waiting for that book to be announced, to be honest. But considering A Body For Play is going to come out in book format I'm taking a guess you'll wait before releasing a new Bosshi.

Privacy doesn't hurt the artist. Only hurt them in their native media exchange. No western pirate would pay to read moonspeak and few would buy the untranslated pass a collector item or to rip/scan the content for fansub. Most fansubs BUYS the content. Someone has to for tankobon translating or bd encoding. Other just use the raws uploaded by the subsites or a kind anon. I don't see where it hurts an author or a company unless they have a licensed in an english nation. This is a great selling point for the japanese artists. Make it available in other places outside glorious nippon and your overseas profit will be better than some dude who took a japanese 101 course at uni and now is 'translating' your work(better example would be someone who is native or educated in niponese). The only thing that fat fuck Gaben ever said was piracy is almost always a service problem and not a pricing problem. IT is also a price problem but it not now since the few living anime companies that survived 'let's charge the Japanese price' on anime. Manga and hentai always was affordable.
The article doesn't explain what the fuck was 'stolen'. If it his japanese tank scanned and uploaded for japanese only read then sure he lost a bunch of money since the japanese are pirating it so not to pay to read it. BUT if it scanning and the gaijins translating it for the white pigu to read then where is the lost renuvue? Those 25,000 lost copies... only maybe 100-150 would be imported in the west by collectors and a few pirates for the scanning purpose. Translate it officially then hell 2-4 thousand copies would be bought, probably more digital.
Only die hard weebs buy untranslated tanks. Majority of those only because they read the scans and say 'I got to have it'. Privacy is why pirates buy things. Give the people a glance at the material and people will buy. Of all the books that was true, except alluring woman because only one chapter was ever translated. The people knew what they were buying was what they wanted. All because they read it before in scan form.
A copy =/= A lost profit in the west. It can't be an equal exchange if there no access to that media without knowledge of japanese reading comprehension and a way to buy stuff. The majority of people can't use amazon jp/melon books/proxy shipping. Hence why they torrent digitally. If anything those pirates may try to import it after seeing it's beauty. Give them a legal access without jumping thru middle men and moonrunes and the person might choose to chip out some money on something. Make it uncensored and he might buy more. You only lose the effort if you don't try.
Autocorrect being a bitch or brainfart?

@JacobAny chance of seeing some of Kisaragi Gunma's works return as Fakku! Books or launch as new Fakku! Books? I really hope "A Straight Line To Love" in particular would be among the releases.

Tbh, I think this topic has exhausted itself.Arguments have been made both both sides, and both have valid points, but the main issue imo:
We all know that the users were lied to, lied to again, then lied to some more before ultimately being stabbed in the back.
The reasons for it and all the legal issues are irrelevant-what's annoying is that we were flat-out told this wouldn't happen, and that's what's annoying people-that the auth are liars.
Really now? I was never lied to, nor was I stabbed in the back. If you feel you were lied to that's entirely up to you.
Uh...When the auth specifically say Fakku would not be going pay-only, and then it does, that's literally the definition of lying.
Citation needed.

Job of the Service committee member highlights a different girl of the same group, so you see the same girls throughout the whole book interacting with each other. And then of course there is Hanafuda which is all one gorgeous, continous story.
Hanafuda, yes.
Job of a service committee member? you seem to be exaggerating, there is like three or four chapters of the main story but after I don't see any connection.

Not sure about Vanilla Essence, and even then, it's surely close to being licensed.

Thing is Jacob has to sell the copies to amazon at a discount. Basically at cost or close to cost. Now if it a shipping thing because amazon gets a better rate... they do strong arm the post service then fine. But if your in North American then the shipping cost isn't high.This.. if amazon US does global shipping anything like amazon Japan.. I can normally get away with o most the same price(shipping) as if I was buying in country.. AND IT TAKES ABOUT THE SAME TIME X3 It's crazy.
Amazon japan doesn't ship anime or manga worldwide though. Hard to get hentai/mangos/animus they region lock. Nor will amazon us do the same to japan.
Actually Amazon japan ships world wide (in France at least) if the books are:
-not adult content.
-not second hand (I mean provided by amazon only).
Not here. Books or hentai, but I can buy it on the marketplace or if it on the American site, but if it jp then the books, porn or anime isn't exportable.
That's quite upsetting indeed.

You mentioned Doujin-Moe, doujin-moe takes scanlation works and puts them behind a paywall. None of the revenue made from subscriptions on doujin-moe go to the artist, and in a lot of cases, none of it goes to scanlators either.Makes me wonder how peoples can complain about FAKKU's system when Doujin-moe does far worse.
Selective amnesia is quite a bitch.

Found a lovely example that reps matter! The fun user Kiba eve fumihiro was reportedly caught repping herself a few months ago. But stopped (or so we thought) Just yesterday her reputation was 24, today? 81! Looking at previous posts and how all are +1 can make anyone suspicious.
Is this a valid argument?
sounds like a weird form of masturbation via ego boosting.
