I believe that if the man suggests the date, he should be paying. However, if the lady suggests the date, it should be 50/50. If she insists on going 50/50 all the time, I'm more then happy to comply, but that's a rarity of rarities. In most cases, they wanted me to pay all the time. :/

Now, if you want a serious answer, I think your problem is the way you think about things. You want what you don't/can't have, and when you might have a chance at it, you either expect too much, or everything, with nothing in return. Thankfully, you seem to admit this fact (which makes me wonder if this might be some type of troll thread...), which is a step in the right direction.
I think some serious re-evaluation is needed on your part, because your way of thinking and acting will get you nothing but sad, lonely times, much to how you've experienced. Honestly, as a human, you'll never, totally, get rid of the feeling of wanting a companion. It's just in our nature to need/want others/someone. GOOD LUCK!

Well, if the girl is in no way committed to a guy (that is, they're not in any type of relationship), while a guy is just using force to keep away any other guys from said girl, that's just being a douche. :/
You can bet your arse that if I liked the girl, I'd be talking to her anyways, and if him and his goons try anything, I would make his life a living hell, and would very much say so. The only way this shit works, is if you show fear in the action. If you play your cards right, and work smart, then there's nothing to fear.

I don't find myself shy, as I am cautious around the opposite gender. I can be rather blunt and open about things, and this tends to bother the women I've been around, so I tend to stay quiet. Not because I'm shy, but because all it takes is one wrong look at a women where I live, and you're labeled a pervert or something.
However, I've found recently that once I've had a few drinks in me, I can be quiet open and playful, which is fine, I suppose.

When I was in High School, we'd have our own lockers. I'd get one or two letters every time around this year, and about 1 every month or so outside this "holiday". (._.) The rest I'd usually find on my desk in one of my classes.
