Almost every thing contains elements of fiction if you think about it...because even when someone writes something to be factual they almost inevitably incorporate bias or errors based on their view point or understanding of the subject.

That said, fiction with a good story line that pulls elements of reality into it in a believable way (ie setting, time of setting, maybe some historical scenario that plays a part in the story, laws of physics) can be really awesome, but so can something that seems to have no sane connections to reality like FLCL.

I like it both ways....the light when I don't feel like clicking the button or don't care, and the dark when I'm fapping my self to sleep and I don't hant my folks to see the light of my monitor under the door(it can mean getting bitched out the next day if they notice I'm still up).

Sort of.... I only drink occasionaly (usually major hoildays, or when I've hurt my self bad or have a stomach bug and want to disinfect my guts), I just started smoking, but I never do it more than once a day and skip days, drugs NEVEEEEEER!

I'm young and excercise moderation so I feel that it is unlikely that I'll cause my self measurable longterm harm at the rate I'm going.

I've seen old pot heads that can't remember worth a flying shit(we had a sprinkler repair guy who was an old pot head whom I got lots of free tools from because he seemed to forget half of what he brought each time he was out).

I would not do any drugs because they all do irreparable damage to ones mind and nervious system (usually as soon as you first try), and as someone who has a vintage electronics restoration hobby I can tell you that I need my mind and nervious system at or above peak opperating status to do what I do. There days I wish I could transform in to a tentacle monster not just to screw many chicks at once, but to have enough hands to hold my soldering iron, the solder, and the component I'm installing when I'm working on pre printed circuit board era electronics(there are days that I'm shocked that I can manage to solder with only two hands).


If I need a high I fap, or I pick up a soldering iron and start working on electronics....which can give me a high almost better than fapping when I sucessfully fix a radio or TV set that is more than twice as old as me back to like new opperating condition, especially if there was a tricky electrical bug that made me really work hard to overcome it(I relish a good challenge!).

I was disapointed not to see it; so much so that last night after confirming it was not on, watching the regular lineup, and going to bed my subconcious constructed a dream that I was watchig Toonami and totally extatic over it to try and soften the feeling of let down.

The last time I dreamed of an Anime programing block(and not just being in an Anime) was several years back when I was channel surfing and landed on the tail end of "Ghost in the Shell:Soild State Scociety" which is how I discovered AniMonday(god I miss that block too)....I was so excited afterwards that my mind could not stop wondering what new awesome Anime that block would show even after I somehow got to sleep.

Since no one has commented or moved this thread to compleated requests I'm going to take that as meaning that it is okay for me to ask for identification of some other things in this thread.

I joined a couple of days back and now I'll try to introduce my self.

I'm a midwestern American college student studying to become an electrical engineer.

I enjoy watching Adult Swim's saturday night anime line up and have been following all the better series avaliable on cable that I've been aware of since I was younger than 10.
I've read all the manga here between #4200 and #6733 and a good amount of others before and after. I tend to enjoy most of what gets posted except for NTR, Yaoi, and Cheating which I read any way, but rarely like(I read for the rare exceptions).

As for music I can enjoy anything from clasical up to some of the popular tunes of the 80's as well as many of the opening and closing music in Anime, but I prefer the Swing/Big Band style of music like what the band for the holloween dance in the Anime movie "Blood the Last Vampire" was playing(I knew the names of the songs after only a few notes^-^).

I'm also really into collecting and restoring vintage electronics particularly Tube radios(1920's-60's), Tube TVs (especially early color sets, some of mine are in the picture above), and obselete audio and video recording formats from century old windup ponographs to stuff of my child hood. The second half of my username is one such obselete format which I wanted to add to my collection since I saw the "Cowboy Beebop" epesode "Speak Like a Child" which revolves around a Betamax tape that gives clues to Fayes forgotten past.

In short I'm basically a 20THcentury history/electronics nerd who is in to Anime.

Well I'm used to the forums that cater to folks in the vintage electronics restoration hobby whom are older, more literate and tend to be far longer winded than me (though two posts back I wrote bit more than I tend to write) so I guess I need to make an adjustment.

The pack was so clean inside and out that if the seal wasn't broken and 13 of the cigs missing, one would not have been able to tell if it was fresh off the shelves or not. It is a fairly conservative private engineering school with prision camp like work loads, and a sadly low girls to guys ratio so most folks there are boring the clean cut types who I doubt even have ever had sex (I sure as hell still have the curse of my virginity) much less herpes. There is often not ehough time to get homework done and sleep so the partiers and wierdos rarely survive freshman year let alone graduate.

I didn't do it to look cool to others(I don't need cigs for that); I did it out of curiousity and for the experience(also to make my self feel cool). If I wanted to look cool I'd have smoked it outdoors instead of where I did smoke it which was in my secret Fapping spot*.

I probably will not make a habbit of smoking as I don't want to ruin my health.
If I do smoke more than once a week after this I would prefer to smoke cherry pipe tobacco.....I love the scent of a cherry pipe it is very nostalgic to me because the old tech that taught me the opperating principals of antique tube radios (which I only collected before the time) and how to competently fix them, used to smoke a cherry pipe and his shop and all the vintage sets he sold had that nice smell(which I associate more with my hobby than any of the nice smells my vintage gear normally produces). One of my grandfathers also smoked the same pipe tobacco**, but did not live long enough to be as much of an influence on me.


*My secret fapping spot is at the top of a stair well that is on a floor that logic states is not suposed to exist (the buiding is two floors shorter than the stair well is. Almost no one uses the stairs to get to the nearest floor in use which is three stories down (the one below that does get some traffic though). Almost no one knows of and has the courage and or curiuosity to visit this floor partly because of the spooky vibe it exhudes(the stair well is not painted above the highest used floor and is poorly lighted one level up from that, and at the top is a locked room with some electrical equip, I'd guess it is the elevator motor room, which emits a constant loud, ominuos 60Hz buzz, and intermitant mechanical squeal like sounds). This place used to creep me out, but the more I go there the less it bothers me. I've fapped there on random free hours for over a year now and never has anyone walked in on me knock on wood (a reccord I wish my bedroom could achieve). The miniscule amount of risk of getting seen intrinsic to using that spot(I'm probably more likely to get raped by a ghost then walked in on lol) turns me on.

Three days ago I almost sat on a 35% full pack of smokes that someone left on the seat I usually sit upon in my VHDL class. I'd never smoked before then and since my lighter was at home (I keep a lighter handy to use on heat shrink wrap I use for my vintage electronics hobby), and my folks would kill me well before the sigs could if they knew I was smokeing I had to wait until the next day at my college to try it. This left me with time to think if there was anything cool I should try to do when I could get to it. Aside from trying to blow smoke rings(I've smoked twice and still can't do it) the only thing that came to mind was how cool Mamimi looked in the first eppesode of FLCL smoking that cig with "Never Knows Best" written on it.....So I decided to do that.

Anyone else ever done something like this this?

[color=darkblue]I've been visiting this site for the H manga since late october 2009, and seriously wanting to get an account to join the awesome comunity here for two years...After tuning in to [AS] on Sunday, seeing this topic here finally gave me the motivation to get off my ass and do it!

Toonami was what originaly got me interested in Anime. Yu Yu Hakusho was the first Anime series I seriously followed, and from there I began to watch many other clasics like Rurouni Kenshin, Zoids, and continued to follow Toonami until the end when they switched to Sundays.

Seeing [AS]'s April Fools Day rebirth of Toonami (I tuned in for the opening sequence of Bleach, and wonder if I missed part of it) brought an instant reaction of "No way!...They brought it back?!....Awwwesome!!!". It took me about an hour to figure out that it was April Fools Day and that I had just fell for the best prank I've ever expeienced. I was totally psyched to get the chance to see, glimpses of series I'd only ever heard of(and in the case of Blue Sub#6 had not heard of), and old favorites that I haven't seen in years.

It brought back memories of good times of my child hood and teen years, and reminded me of just how many great things I miss which I've lost along the way.
All those memories left me intermitantly sad almost to the point of tears(and this is coming from someone who didn't cry when He learned His Grandma died the following Monday), and feeling like jumping for joy to have seen it again, for the next two days.

Between Toonami, the cancelling of [AS]'s week day Anime block, and AniMonday moving to Thursdays and disapearing, a part of me has gradually gone from pissed off to nervious about the future what Anime remains available on cable. Out of this nerviousness I've been archiving my favorite shows video tape for some time now, and was really pleased to be able to record everything after bleach (though if I had known that they would not repeat Bleach I'd have recorded it while I could) on S-VHS. I only could to afford to stay up until Big O ended so if not for my nervious habbit of taping everything that I do I'd have missed some of what I was most looking foreward to.
