I have been horny since 8am this morning. I have schlicked about 5-6 times and it hasn't god damn helped at all. Ugh. I took a nap and had another detailed wet dream and woke up frustrated again.

Conventions are fine, to be honest most people at conventions are very friendly and have no issues making conversation with someone. There's even speed dating at some anime conventions (FanimeCon had a Speed Dating event this year).
You could also just make conversation with people whilst out shopping. I know I've had numerous conversations in comic stores or video game stores just out of the blue. It's all about finding the confidence to initiate conversation and you're set. Most nerdy women won't be the "Ew get the fuck away from me" type, and if they ARE like that then fuck them. Those kinds of women, the bitchy kind, aren't worth anyone's time anyway.

It honestly really depends on the application. If I was stranded in a barren frozen wasteland with no other sources of warmth save for a fur pelt... then yes I'd wear it over freezing to death.
However I sincerely doubt that scenario will ever happen. I live in California and it's never cold enough to require heavy duty jackets, therefore fur really has no practical use where I live. So personally I'd never wear it, I'd be too hot. But I have no real issues with people wearing it unless they're only wearing it as a fashion statement, then it kind of irks me.
But it's only a mild irk.

I don't think that sexual partners (unless you're like the people on Maury who have 200 potential baby daddies) should make or break a relationship. If she has a history of cheating or destroying other people's relationships, then yes you definitely want to make sure that isn't how she's like.
But I think people have the bad habit of talking and spreading rumors where there might be no grounds for them. I've had people tell me "Oh don't talk to that person he's an asshat" and when I get to know them I find out, hey it's the other person just passing stuff they've heard without ever finding out.
Also people have this wonderful capability to change in life. Perhaps she's done stuff in the past she regrets, but that isn't who she is and does not define her. Same for men. I've known men who have made really bad choices, dated really bad people, then they reach a point where they grow out of it and move on to other stages in their life.
So long story short, get to know her, and base your opinions of who she is now. You might come to find she's a wonderful person, who knows? Best of luck sir!
