“You’ve forced my hand. Don’t presume to understand me.”
Ratana thrashed against the confines of her makeshift cell once more. The walls of the abandoned mine only served to exaggerate the noise much to the annoyance of her guards.

I believe you forgot the ---.
lashed out with his with sword.
Extra with.
Ratana turned around to find Oren twisting his arm around until she heard bone snap like a trig.
Don't you mean twig? Any definition of trig seemed off in this sentence.
Hughes put his fist pistol aside and pulled out his second.
Typo.
Finally, Russell is mentioned in the main story. Looking forward to it.

So, any updates?

Oh wow, the timing. I had such a realization very recently too. I'm still coming to terms with it, but the first moments were so painful.
I would like to continue the talk, but the time is late since I wanna go to the campus in morning. I hope you can get online in the near future.
For now relax and think things through. Don't take any step if you cannot justify it without invoking emotions.

Well, what did he do that you wanted to have revenge for? Since deep down you acknowledge he's right, then emotions aside, it's just as simple as he's right. Or are they unrelated stuff entirely?
But from what you've told, things aren't that bad. You have the options ready, you just don't want to consider/take them. I know how that feels but it's still better than having none. Best bet would be to take some time off (since you don't seem to be able to salvage anything at this point), chill and figure out what seems to be a tolerable things to do for life. And move in that direction.

A sub par mind. I can't say it's the same, but I definitely feel the pain. I always feel I'm too lacking for what I desire.
I agree with him that everyone will excel with proper motivation though. Just that, being motivated at all is the challenge to me. I don't know whether the same applies to you though, but you didn't come off as particularly motivated before.
Heir to the business, I assume. Do you know what he does and if you enjoy it? What kind of business anyway and is it relevant to your studies?
And, any intention to redo the degree if need be?

Dismissal from? Univ I'm guessing.
It's pretty hard to ask questions with so little hint. Unless if the inc are related to the unwanted memories, which you didn't imply.

That would be great. I admit that I am curious.
@kyuu: a retreat to relativism? aww.

Happens to me quite often. I hate to be dismissive like this, but since you don't seem willing to share what was inside the box, all I can say is that you need not worry, knowing you I think you'll pull through.

Fakku Elder
Hm. Not much can be said since I don't know what's in there but can you say any way to go on now that it's open? Or, is it one of those cases where you don't even want to go on once revealed?
@kyuu: therefore your distinction is arbitrary. you decide between them just by how fleeting it seem to be, but provide no reasoning as to why you draw the line there.

That wasn't too long.
But anyway, what are you going to do now? You have many ways for one option, but is there any for the other way? Which path you'll take?

Why do you dismiss some fleeting things not as gain but accept some other fleeting things as gain? What's your criteria in deciding between them?

Well, I agree on that part. Though, it seems to simply branch to either engaging in a meaningful conversation, or meaningless one.
Which is similar to the distinction I drew earlier, pleasantries and arguments. I have provided a case of a meaningful argument and while I accept that there is such a thing as meaningless argument, that has to do with the reasoning of its participants and not about the nature of the argument itself.
However, you disagree with my claim that pleasantries are by definition meaningless. And that intrigues me, and I would like to know a case of conversation that is not an argument but is still meaningful.

Well, ok. But you haven't provided a plausible case of a conversation without arguments, which, at the core simply involve differences in thoughts, that is meaningful.
mibuchiha
Fakku Elder
And then, what's the need to avoid conflicts to begin with? You have yet to provide a plausible drive in your idea of 'no argument friendship'.

So, where have you been? That you're alive seems to hint you managed to find some lonely time.
