At the moment, the only one I can think of is Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei. The show really tries to make the main characters (and by main characters I mean the siblings) far more important than the other characters in the anime that I couldn't even care less if most of the characters other than the main characters die. It might be like SAO all over again only with incest. There are lots of transparent girls who'd suck Tatsuya's dick any day, though he only has love for his sister, while there are lots of weak snobbish guys who'd despise him with all of their guts, which is a pretty original plot amirite? And in every episode, there has to be at least one time the sister would say that his brother is the true superior magician compared to others. I mean yes I get it that she loves her brother so much that she finds it offensive that other people would try to belittle him, but the fact that about 60-70% (might be an underestimation) of her dialogues so far in the anime is about her praising her brother really ticked me off. And apparently she's considerably a strong magician too that she could actually beat the entire female casts of the anime from the looks of it. WELL THAT SURE IS SOMETHING!

Despite all that hate, the only thing that keeps me going with the anime is the concept of applying science to perform magic skills. It really is hard to follow the explanation of how certain magic works when there are loads of scientific words in a translated line that I'd have to pause sometimes to re-read the sentence so that I could understand it better, but it's really interesting to combine magic with science even though it's all fictional stuff. The visuals of the skill-castings and the skills themselves are pretty nice too actually. So in short, I watch the anime for the scientific magic and the visuals instead of the characters.

That plot twist near the end was pretty unexpected, for once. The girl who picked up Tatsuya on the bridge actually killed his friends, and planned to torture him to ... Pretty fucked up, but pretty imaginative too.


Also, if my net can handle it, I wanna start torrenting Tokyo ghoul (since I have no legal way to watch it that I can afford, this is my only way. Not that the laws ever stopped me from torrenting shit)
