I forget how this thread started...
Is it legal to beat them into submission if they are in danger of causing harm to you and/or your family?
Or can you just not shoot them for it...

And unlike science, the explanations offered by religion are bolstered by nothing. Which means there's absolutely no reason to accept anything religion says as fact; hence faith.Agreed. That's why we should all KILL our neighbors!
But no really. Although I can see where the bible has taught stories to better people... but do we REALLY need religion to teach us to not kill people? To not fuck our neighbors wife(assuming he didn't want you to)? Wouldn't people figure these things out themselves? Sure, there are the dumb ones of the group... but they die off for a reason.

The title of the thread is deceiving. It should be "your favorite type of booze" or "what get's you the most shitfaced".I think it's about as appealing as can be to people who 'do' drink. As you stated, posting otherwise simply makes no sense in a topic like this....
However, I appreciate your contribution.

Another poll with out a "No" option . . .In defense of the lack of said option, the topic s called 'Booze it or Loose it'. Thus, adding a "No" option will only count the number of people who lost... and I simply do not think that is socially correct : /
On topic: Seems Vodka is winning! So far the Russians have made the best impact on Fakku. But will that statement hold?
Keep them votes coming

The problem is that we go through all that shit, then not all of us get jobs because there are too many college graduates here.Hmm, that brings up a very good point. Half the reason of getting a college degree is because if nothing else it shows you CAN learn new things and stick through it. But if everyone went to college, it would water down the idea.
Huh, cool. I've now got something to think about.
But overall in the US I do really think it costs far too much. Paying $200 for A BOOK that you most likely will barely even use for ONE class, on top of the ~$700 for the one class is ridiculous IMO.
Chances are it's not even a class that will benefit your degree...

They call God a loving, all powerful being. That we were created by him only to praise him. However, a loving God would not create someone just to praise them. And a god who wants us to worship him is not all that loving, in my opinion. So neither of those statements are completely true then.All-powerful? No. His power is determined by the people who worship him. If many people worship him, his power grows as the fear of 'disobeying' him rises. If noone worships a god however, they are powerless, as people don't care about what it does.
My 2 cents.
Hah, well put my friend. That's about the time they admit they do not know everything, and god works in mysterious ways... Well dammit, then why the hell are you devoting your life to it?
I think most people are just masochists... Need something bigger and better than them to always put them in their place, and control everything so they know nothing is ever wrong or out of control. It all happens because God makes it happen.
Plus I mean, hell. If this is the best God can do... it's most certainly not something to put on a resume.
EDIT: lol great pic, Rbz.

I'm seeing a lack of theistic views... Is atheism and agnosticism that rampant these days?I like to think it is for a reason.
If something does not make enough sense, more people will take an alternative. I don't know if that says something about the people and times we live in, or most religion.

@ XilIf you can't get a dog for whatever reason, get a homocidal rabbit or something.
Back to seriousness, your making it sound like hundreds of millions have those troubles and i am going to argue back.
First of all, not nearly enough people are seriously allergic enough to not be able to stand dogs to be said like that.
Secondly, wouldn't you agree that living in an appartment not only makes your place less attractive to rob, but also extremely unpractical to rob?
Whatya gonna do? Grab that tv and haul it down the stairs? Or put it in the elevator and say hi to the old man also stepping on it?
Heh, that's of course assuming it's an apartment with stairs.
Even with stairs, Apartments are WONDERFUL places to rob. Rows and rows of extremely weakly secured homes. Your pretty much guaranteed that it will not have a security system, nor dog for that matter. The locks are shit, and all very similar. That, in a nutshell, is a great hist area.
Watch for a few people coming and going, but really now... I doubt many would even pay notice if it's an intelligent thief using common sense and plays it cool.
Even if your not allergic to a dog, my point stands. If you don't have a dog, I'm just going to assume you have a reason for not owning a dog. They are expensive, require attention perhaps someone who works all day cannot give, or you simply don't want one. I say that is reason enough.
So, again, we are forcing these people to get something they have no motivation to get simply to do something they could do themselves: protect their home. WITH or WITHOUT physical force.
Although, A feral rabbit I would accept as a valid home defense measure So long as it has big, sharp, pointy teeth.

Forever atheist, here.
Even if there is a single powerful God who made everything as it is, it would not be a God I would want to worship.

INDEED!
(Before hand: yes I know there have been topics 'like this' in the past. However you can say that for pretty much anything. The previous similar topics I could find where not as general and old enough I think I'm safe. Mod's choice though.)
So, I work at a Liquor store and have for some time now. For someone who cannot (legally)drink yet, I know my fare share about alcohol and people's buying habits.
Leading me to wonder: What is the majority of Fakku drinking?
Be it by the Half Gallons or a Fith a year, which bottle do you most often reach for?
Feel free to add Brands and/or Cocktails.
NOTE: I didn't add Beer or Wine, I'm more interested in Hard-A for this topic.

Hm, indeed that is a lot.
Happy to know FAKKU is starting to get the attention it deserves.
Lurk, Leech, or contribute. Regardless of what most of these users do, they see the ads, which in turn it helps FAKKU. There really is not a downside other than more stress on the server.

Sorry but you STILL do not get the point. Your well being is always much more important, and is the first issue you should look at. However if at ALL possible, you are to take him in civilian arrest WITHOUT injuring him, if he threatens your life you are allowed to respond appropriatly.I am not saying you should walk in there pacifist style and get shot through the head, rather go in there, guns out and pointing and disarm the threat.
Your life or his? Shoot the bastard
I hope you now understand my point o.-
I would like to know how our points differ... You seem to have said what I did, however naturally rephrased.
That said, happy we could come to an agreement, for the time being anyway.

Stopping a thief via force by shooting him / injuring him won't change the fact that he intruded into your house and that he will end up in jail once he is caught. However you will have to face a charge for injuring him and can end up in jail aswell, depending on how much you injured him, even longer than the thief. Now think carefully. Are those items that you can get back with insurance really worth ending up in jail for? In my opinion: No they aren't. If you want security, I mentioned it before, rather get a dog. Every burglar will think twice of pissing of a German shepherd or the like fletching it's teeth, aiming for the throat. And it even can be a nice partner for joggs, sports and is a friend for the family aswell.... what would you want more?
To your first point:
That is why I think the LAW should be changed, NOT our first reaction to protecting our home and valuables.
Yes, excessive force should not be used IF AVOIDABLE, but it's not like you can just get your feet wet to see if the water is ideal temperature before going into a situation like that. Most people will be scared and/or angry at the situation. Thus making them just and uncountable for their actions as any excuse the theif has.
Your second point would work, agreed. However that is assuming everyone can get a dog, let alone a big dog.
A dog is a huge amount of work, even a well trained one. Most apartments do not allow dogs. And a lot of people are allergic to dogs. So are these people just out of luck and should hope for the best in the event of a burglary?
And even the people who can get a dog. That just means we should hinder ourselves ALL of the time, simply to avoid harming an intruder IN THE EVENT one ever comes along?
I just can't agree with that. It's not you I don't agree with, it's that specific law.
