Actually, it's always a good day for some FAKKU, but I'll stop circumlocuting and give you guys the meat. I have a NEW FAKKU release for you guys: Try Love-Ru from the series... well, if you can't figure it out from the doujin name, too bad.


So, for this project we have a new translator, Kylaran! His knowledge of Japanese is quite solid so I'm very glad he joined us (of his own volition too!). Be sure to welcome him! And where would we be without Mike, who has been nothing short of a star in our team, banging out releases as fast as he crashes castles.

Twenty-five posts certainly feels a lot to me, but I suppose it might be a little low for some of you. If you can see where I'm coming from, I'm trying to stop people who make approximately twenty spam posts every hour to attain the next rank, but indeed, a post count limit is quite a harsh measure to implement in any forum, particularly one as liberal as ours. I'll talk with the other admins and see what they think, and if there is any other way to discourage spamming.

It's quite ironic we're having to deal with this, because half a year ago all three of us admins thought up and implemented ways to get people to post more.

You can't be serious. Are you telling me you can actually make twenty-five posts in one day to help people out? Think about it. Twenty-five. Let's say you uploaded ten games, then that gives you about two or three posts per game per day. Far, far more than enough if you ask me. Also, the PM function is there for a reason; use it.

I doubt if your posts were well-thought out, and if you considered what it would be like for others to read your posts, that you'd need to "debate" anything, really. There are many ways to continue your debate if you get into one, and PM is one of them, as opposed to making other users read the raging between you and some other user and obscuring posts that are actually good. These are forums, not a chatbox.

In any case, the posting limit won't be too unreasonable. I doubt many of you could make more than 25 constructive, non-trollish posts per day, which is the number I am considering. Also, it should encourage some of you double-posters to use that little edit button.

I had considered putting more titles up really, but the fact that some of you simply spam like crazy to get the next title put me off doing so. For example, if I created a new rank for 2000 posts tonight, I can safely say over the next week or so the forums would suffer from uncontrolled spamming.

Notice that post count has absolutely nothing to do with how the FAKKU Staff sees you. None of the users with positions of responsibility in this forum have been recognised because of an insane post count. I myself was promoted to Admin status a year ago with barely over 100 posts, but almost every post I made was intelligent, contributed to the community, and well thought-out. In fact, I can say that quite a few of you with well over 1000 posts are despised by the more senior members of the community for rampant spamming.

I created the Elder rank to encourage posting, and not spamming. Unfortunately, I did not forsee that some of you would make approximately fifty posts a day in order to get the Elder ranking, which makes it lose its originally very special value. Many of the senior members have expressed their dislike for some of you, and us admins are not very pleased with the general deterioration of the quality of posts our forums has been experiencing for the past six months or so.

Until we implement daily posting limits and a nifty temporary ban system to improve the quality of posts in the forums, I will not consider making any more post-count-dependent titles. The idea of letting some of you have custom titles does not sit well with me either, because, again, of what some of you were like during your spamming period. It simply is not fair to those who get to the 1000 post mark in the way you were supposed to. There is a reason why it's called the Elder rank: it's supposed to take a LONG time to get there, not one month.

Think I'm being unreasonable? Well, compare the posts the FAKKU Staff made before they were promoted (mine, for example: https://www.fakku.net/search.php?search_author=Raze&start=765) against yours, which you can find by clicking on "View All Forum Posts" under your profile.

You've obviously been living a very sheltered and well-off life if you find even that disgusting, and have had no dorm experience whatsoever. In my college we have the exact same situation as you do and I was not in the least bothered by it (though I have had some sports camp experience). Some of the larger colleges are even worse, and let's not even talk about certain colleges in certain countries. *cough cough*

So if I understand you correctly, you're having your tertiary education in Japan, or are you just there to learn the language?

Unfortunately, I don't know Portugese or even Spanish (though I plan on learning Spanish perhaps this coming summer), so I can't help you there.

As for converting stuff to PDF, you need to have the full version of Adobe Acrobat to do it. I don't have it on my computer, but the university computers do, which is how I've been doing it. If you do have access to a full version of Adobe Acrobat somewhere, it should be an easy process to convert your document. By the way, I put a new version of the PDF with tkhnoman's first artwork and ZeroOBK's more recent one on the first post.

I will make it a priority to type up the next chapter during Fall Break, which is just a week away! I have the events planned out for the next two or three chapters, so it's just a matter of sitting down with some coffee and braving it out.
