As a person whom preciously and thoroughly loved AnoHana I would advise you to ignore your one pathos based argument and finish the show. It might be as you expect it to be. But the music and course of the anime will keep it fresh and make you yearn for more.
As for the other anime'. I would recommend you to watch Denpa Teki na Kanojo because of the shortness of it. It's only two episode. And how come you didn't like Gurren Lagann? I thought it was a very straightforward, simple and addictive show. Sure, it wasn't all that great but it was very enjoyable.
7/10 - I love that song but the cover never reached levels Bad Apple did.
