I'm thinking about switching the deck to a more traditional control approach: no Geists, no Cliques (they can't take proper advantage of the lack of Geist's tempo and they turn on the opponent's removal early) and no Restos. Add in Serum Visions, Mana Leaks, maybe an Anger or a Wrath. I would probably have to play 1 less Path and add another Electrolyze, or also take Cryptics to the sideboard and add a single Revelation, Izzet Charms or Batterskull. This is just tentative. It's not like pure UWR control is a bad deck in Modern-- switching to midrange enjoys just as much success as far as I've seen. I'm still trying to find my ideal playstyle and I enjoy the passive-aggressive approach of my current deck.
I personally prefer the control UWR over mid-range Giest UWR. It still runs at least 4 Snapcasters, and sometimes 2 Cliques and 2 Restos for re-uses out from Snaps and Cliques. Just see what you prefer playing as well as how the meta is so far.

So Nintendo is one of EVO's sponsors.Maybe they do care, but they're just a bit incompetent.
Well at least Nintendo doesn't give you re-releases of the same and charge $40-60, overhype new characters that are just palette swaps, and know how to balance a fighting game and not have completely dumbshit, like Sagat's Ultra 1 whiffing on Decapre in the corner and he does the full animation, still until their final product of the game.
*Cough*"Winner Don't Use Drugs.*Cough*
lolno
In every Smash games there's clearly poorly balanced characters that just can't compete the rest of the cast. Or worse, those who are too strong/above the rest.
*cough*Metaknight*cough*
Also Roy sucked in melee and he's straight up unusable.
I guess that's one thing Fighting Games won't ever be. Balanced. Unless you're Virtua Fighter or Tekken Tag Tournament 2.
Even then, TTT2, the Mishimas (Heihachi, Jin, and Kazyua) are still a lot better than the rest of the cast. People that play Tekken here in Korea prefer playing Tekken5/6 over Tag 2 due to it's unbalanced nature of it being a damage-fest over a lot of things. That and it's really boring to watch TTT2. The only person that made it hype for me was AK due to this kid's unorthodox play.
I personally can not vouch for VF though since I've never played or watched competitive VF.

This game is shit. Come at me brahs.
Marth is in it. And Capt. has been confirmed by mistake in interview where sakurai mentioned balancing and characters.
I kinda agree, but I'll still play it and maybe even enjoy it but I'll think to myself about what could have been.
The perfect Smash game having; Smash 64's emphasis on combos, Melee's speed+gravity and mechanics, Brawl's massive amount of content and Project M's balancing will never come to be.
;_:
Just re-read my post. *facepalm* I meant Ness, but that's besides the point that this game has lost it's competitive touch because of corporate reasons. At least Crapcom tries to cater to both casual and competitive players, keeping their horizons broader than a lot of the competition.
In any case, I'll be sticking to playing Project M *cough* Project M Stream from me this weekend after EVO2014 Stream*cough* because that how I feel like this new SSB should of taken it's direction from. Beggars can't be choosers I guess... :\

For those who missed the stream today :

Also, for next week stream, I'll be trying to find and fit in time for the stream for the US' Saturday or Friday night due to having EVO2014 on that same weekend. I'm pretty sure that most of the games will finish around 1900 PST, so it'll be a little later than usual, but I do hope that you guys will enjoy watching me and a couple of friends play Smash together.
Hope to see you guys next week~

Too bad 'someone' lost 1-2 cause Vial is a thing~ *Laugh*
As for the games, I do think that B/R Zombies was a free win for you since it's a really old deck. It still works when it wants to, but still not a tier 1 deck like UWR. RUG Scapeshift is a hard match-up for you due to it can naturally get harder to beat by naturally casting the mountains for Valkut, both pre-board and post-board. Good thing you pulled a 1-1 there. Pod in general is really hard to beat with UWR. So many too many questions for your answers.

So, I've been talking to some friends of mine about post-rotation RtR for Standard, and I've come to the conclusion that I will be switching from anything UWx control to either Junk or Jund. Anything in those colors are really good, especially Junk post-rotation.
Courser of Kruphix, Sylvan Caryatid, Elspeth, Hero's Downfall, Thoughtseize, Garruk Apex, Chord of Calling, Life's Legacy, Banishing Light, Waste Not, Back To Nature, Diecide are just the few that I can think of post-rotation that's going to be real good in Junk Colors.
UWx is dead in Standard. No boardwipes, no real reactive spells for them to play, no good spot-removal spells that actually kill the creature right out for 2 mana.
I've said it and I'll say it again, MtG is going more towards creature spells over casting spells, becoming more of a board-state game over an reactive-state game.

So, I've been recently talking to a friend of mine that got me into playing Smash (particularly Melee and Project M) and it seems like for next week's stream, I will be streaming Smash with a couple of my friends. You'll get some entertaining games that I hope you'll enjoy. :)
As for this week's game, I need a few titles from you guys to throw at me to try to play (especially anything from the Steam Summer Sale event, or any VNs in particular).
I also need feedback from you guys as well to see how everything is going so far with the stream. I know that I haven't gotten around to streaming much within the past couple of weeks because of SEAM2014 and being sick, but let me know of anything else that you guys would like to see from me. Thanks~
