What a shame, but from what I hear, there hasn't been many casualties, any that did happen weren't a direct result of the wildfires. First they had economic woes because of energy/oil politics and now this.

Well they're both considered rude by their opponents. Then there's the superficial "I fight this corrupt government for the common man" thing, something that's not uncommon among politicians. Jackson was a mixed bag on central government but I guess you could say they both see it as a means to an end.

But no matter what people say, the Indian Removal Act is nothing like Trump's immigration policy. As misguided and expensive it is to want to depart over 11million people, it's not genocide. Another comparison is that they're both rich men rallying against the rich is another half-truth. Jackson wanted a strong central government in some respects, one freed from the "clutches" of a national bank that's actually privately owned. Trump wants to actively punish companies that operate outside of the US and general tax loop abusers.

Not a bad or wrong comparison. Just not a good one either.

Yeah but anything any political figure says can be compared to what Hitler, Mussolini, Stalin, Hirohito, Mao, etc. etc. wanted. Anything superficial like wanting a strong independent economy, higher appreciation of culture and arts, prosperity, etc. etc.

CronaBaka, I like ya, but this is kinda dumb. Plus comparing Trump to FDR would be waaaay more fitting, anyone worth their weight in historically knowledge would agree.

Well considering Trump was against the Iraq war and occupation, and is more keen with working with others on the whole Syria ordeal, he seems to be the least war hawk-ish between the main candidates. We've already got someone who's killed plenty of innocents and the power to do more harm than Hitler ever has(not saying Obama will either) so not wanting more of what we have now isn't exactly opposing that quote.

Trump might hum along to whatever tune Isreal's got in mind but it's highly unlikely he'll be Hitler warmonger tier dickhead (I'm assuming that's who you're alluding to by bringing up his birthplace stone). We will probably have trade wars with China though.

Now I'm wondering if people consider me a "veteran" here.
