Yes the achievements and forum access is immediate, but if FAKKU is blocked in your country it will remain blocked.

Avatar uploads are working! The downtime was due to a server migration, previously avatars were served from our application server (along with the core FAKKU code), now they have their own server! This will free up resources on the application servers and should make everything a little faster. However we lost about 24 - 48 hours of avatar uploads from a week ago, if you are missing your avatar you can either upload a new one or post in this thread and I will recover the missing one.
[color=#ff69b4]Woot!
But now it sames like we can't update are sigs do to you turning off avis for a bit.
Should be working

If you do not wish to wait for the avatar bug to be fixed, you can crop and resize the image you want in your image editor of choice and upload it. The resolution needs to be 160x260.^^ For now the only thing that works is this. ^^
[color=#ff69b4]Can't even get this to work 99% of the time. =\
Same here, not worked once yet.
Someone earlier in this thread suggested trying repeatedly, got mine changed after a few hours of trying. Clearly still problematic, but at least there's a tiny chance of it working. Hopefully it will be fixed soon, though.
i spent an entire day at one point watching some stargate while constantly trying to upload, didn't work... will keep at it though.
Same, spent the last 80 min or so today playing with different images and resizing them to no avail.
Does Team Jacob have an eta to when they think they'll resolve the issue?
I guess I'll try again in a week and see if it's resolved by then.
Should be fixed later today

Question. I pre-ordered the digital copy but after looking at the awesome book binding, I think I'm sold on getting the physical book itself! Will Fakku make an order upgrade option? :DProbably not, but Jacob has offered this solution in another similar case.
I just made a topic about it here as well: https://www.fakku.net/forums/books/bought-the-digital-edition-and-now-want-the-paperback
A few people have asked about upgrades so I wanted to make a post about how we handle it. If you originally bought the digital edition of one of our books and you'd like to change your order to a paperback do the following.
Place an order for the paperback, go through the whole checkout process with your shipping info and all that. Once the order is complete send an email to store@fakku.net with the order ID numbers for your two orders (which will be in the emails we sent), we will then refund your PayPal account the cost of the digital edition!

I'll take a look and see what's going on, we'll be rolling out a new online reader soon that should fix issues like this.

I got a question, Will there be ads on the onine readers for Fakku books for those who chose to read it online? I prefer no ads since we actually paid for it.No ads!

We want to do as many books as possible, it's just as fulfilling for us to have a physical copy in our hands. However books that may not be in print may just be very niche style books that may not be very popular, but we'd still do them as a digital release for those who would enjoy it.I hope I'll be able to get those I want as physical books, we'll see how it plays out in the end. I do understand the reasoning behind the decision, even if I don't like it much. Hopefully someday this business will be profitable enough to allow even these niche books to get a physical release.
Digital only releases will be very rare. The only time it will be digital only is if it's something super niche like loli + ntr + rape with a little futa.

OK I have a question and there might not be a real solution but i am gonna ask anyway. i pre-ordered it but i pre-ordered digital only but now i am thinking of getting it paperback too. Is there anyway to get it paperback only since i already got digital? or do i just have to pay $20 even though i already payed $10?Hmm there is no easy way to do this. If you order the paperback edition and send me an email I can refund the initial $10 digital order, that should work.

I'll not be as much mind blown as others, mainly because french versions (Taifu Comics especially) do keep a lot from the original. But I'm still loving what you do.Yeah French manga are badass, we have a few in the office for reference. You guys take anime and manga seriously.
Here's some pictures of the binding! This picture includes the original Japanese tankÅbon. It's crazy seeing "FAKKU Books" actually printed, it still blows my mind.

Below is a picture with another Japanese tankÅbon (Titikei) that we are also working on. It's important to us that the books are the same size so they line up nicely on a shelf. We'll try to always make sure the "FAKKU Books" logo is in the exact same position across all releases.

We'll be posting pictures and answering questions about the printing process in this topic!

Learning how to print manga has been a fun challenge for all of us at FAKKU. Early on we decided that we wanted our manga to be different; we wanted to stand out from the competition. Typically English manga is printed on low quality paper, with dust jackets removed, posters discarded, and sometimes even color pages converted to black/white. When you compare an English release to the original Japanese one it's no contest; the Japanese is significantly better. So the first thing we needed to do was find a printer that could help us realize our vision... and we did!
All of the books FAKKU releases will mirror their Japanese counterparts 1-to-1. We will be publishing in the traditional Japanese tankÅbon size (Renai Sample is roughly 8.3 x 6 x 1 inches), we will be including full color glossy jackets, full color glossy pages, posters inside the book, and even the black/white pages will be printed on high quality paper (140gsm+). We will never redraw the artists work to remove censorship (this is typically how decensoring happens), all of our material will be straight from the source. Our books will be different than anything you've seen in English before.
Renai Sample just passed our final round of internal approvals and the paperback has started printing! Pre-ordering gets you the digital edition for free (which is going to be released on September 26th). This bundle is only available for pre-orders and once the book is released the free digital will no longer be available. So if you haven't pre-ordered Renai Sample yet I encourage you to do so now. With the release date fast approaching I wanted to involve everyone in the process and share some pictures of the book in its early printing stages. Click the image below if you have pre-ordered to check out a topic in the FAKKU Books forum where we will be posting pictures and answering questions all week long!
