When I was a kid (mid or late 90's) we used to get this powdered ice tea mix that was the best I've ever had, even better than making it from actual tea leaves (probably just nostalgia talking) and it came in a dark brown glass jar and I think it was made by Nestea but we haven't been able to find it in like 10 years or more.
Also we used to get this black cherry ice cream from a drug store, Thrifty's, but they all got bought out by... one of the bigger ones (Rite Aid we think) and the ice cream isn't the same anymore.
Cherry Coke before they changed the formula.
Thankfully for home cooked meals/desserts one upside to being stuck living with my parents for the foreseeable future is that my mom makes home cooked meals whenever she's home. I'm talking chicken and dumplings, fried porkchops with golden mushroom soup as like a gravy, roast, ham, fried chicken and so on and it's all done from scratch, though like the golden mushroom soup is canned Cambell's soup but the gravy for the roast is done from scratch. And for dessert it ranges from homemade cookies made from scratch to peanut butter candy or Rice Krispy treats made with peanut butter instead of marshmallow cream and then topped with a mixture of milk chocolate and butterscotch melted together. One of these days I have to see if it's possible for me to make some of this stuff myself lol.

Terranigma for the SNES, the third part of a very loosely connected "trilogy" of games (Soul Blazer being the first and Illusion of Gaia the second). The gameplay is similar to... a more action oriented Zelda? Not the most apt comparison but it's all I can think of right now. Unlike most Action RPG games the hero uses a spear instead of a sword and has access to various attacks that kind of work like a rock/scissors/paper style of combat. Aerial enemies take more damage from one attack, "hard" enemies from another, and small enemies from yet another. You can block most projectile attacks, and can use different healing items in real time to cure poison or restore HP.
In order to change equipment you enter Pandora's Box and guide the demon(?), Yomi, around to act like a cursor. You can also check on what attacks work against what types of enemies, how much XP you need to level up and so on here.
The story is pretty interesting and well done compared to most of what I've seen, and while the controls can take a little getting used to they flow pretty well and make the game a really enjoyable experience overall. The art style can be compared to Chrono Trigger though it's not as cleanly done it holds up well and the bosses especially have a more unique look than some SNES era games. The sound track is actually one of my favorite parts of the game, especially the song The Departure which plays the "over world."

Let's see... I first became interested in girls basically on the first day of kindergarten since that was the first day I was around one my age and there were a couple cute ones in my class that liked me (only as friends to my knowledge), so I was 6 at the time. Thinking back there were a couple entertaining moments like having two different girls wanting to play with me and each one pulling one of my arms in different directions.
In terms of sexual interest the same could be said in that I've always been naturally curious, and that included wanting to know what a girl my age looked like nude (had already seen topless women in different movies my dad watched when he didn't notice I was there). However in terms of actually knowing what sex was and thinking about such things I was 10-11 I think, and I couldn't stop thinking about it for the next couple years haha. The combination of finding porn on TV, hentai on the internet and going through sex ed class (not that you ever learn much in any of them) all at the same time I began puberty sparked an insatiable flame.

The standard Nintendo brand SNES controller, nothing else is more comfortable. It's what I use to play any emulated games that don't require analog sticks or extra buttons (N64 and PSX games), hell I even use it for some PC games.
You got your first girlfriend? 13/14
You lost your virginity? I'm 20 and I haven't lost it yet, my only relationship was a long distance one (opposite sides of the US) and while I'm not saving myself for marriage or anything, I'd never be able to just go out and have a one night stand or anything. Something that would have to be done with someone I have an emotional connection with.
Said "I love you" to someone? 13/14
Someone said "I love you" to you? 12 I think, was a little odd since I'd just met her that night.

Agreed on Threads of Fate, though I enjoy Mint's campaign more than... the guy's, I forgot his name.

For someone who prefers the classic games the old 2D platformers the Prime series is average. Looked at alone, they're highly enjoyable. At least that's how it was for me.
On one hand Metroid: Other M looks awesome and on the other I'm a little worried that it won't hold up to my standards, though with Team Ninja at the helm I'm probably worried for nothing (although the last game of theirs I played was Ninja Gaiden Black for the XBOX). Not sure if it's something I'm going to pre-order though.

I especially love straight shota when it's wincest with a sister (or sisters) of equal age or a couple years older (say a 10-13 year old boy with his 13-16 year old sister), kinda how Mikan and Rito look in a lot of hentai manga (I don't know how old they're supposed to be in the anime). Or same thing but with childhood friends/school mates/neighbors and so on.
Not a big fan of the whole mother/son incest set usually, most of them usually have ridiculously huge breasts. Even though I usually prefer smaller breasts some artists draw great big ones, but sometimes it's just way too much, and mother/son incest mangas are usually the worst offenders. However some shota/adult woman pairings I've seen have been great.

Not quite zombies but System Shock 2 for the PC, (I only got a little ways in so I may have some of this mixed up) but the humans on the space ship your serving a tour of duty on have all been killed or infected with this alien parasite that pretty much turns them into zombies, coupled with psychic monkeys, security robots, and many other interesting enemies it makes for very tense and oftentimes creepy game. (First person shooter with RPG elements, the closest comparison I can make is Deus Ex in terms of gameplay but that is no where close, it's too unique for it's time to have a comparison. Bioshock is its spiritual successor.)
I've got a near constant headache and frequent migraines, so depending on what else is bothering me at the time I have different solutions. Most basic thing is to drink more water or something like Gatorade to make sure you aren't dehydrated (makes a BIG difference), lay down in a dark room or preferably sleep it off if you can, putting an ice pack on your head in the area of the worst pain can help by shrinking the blood vessels, but can also make it worse if your muscles are really tense or you leave it on for too long.
Med wise an Excedrin Migraine coupled with 1 or 2 Fioricet (careful if you have liver problems, as both contain acetaminophen (Tylenol) and avoid grapefruit and grapefruit juice for the same reason) works wonders and if your medical insurance actually covers it Imitrex or other Triptan based medications are highly effective. And of course depending on your opinion on it Marijuana can help, OR it can make it worse depending on your triggers.
Nortriptyline can be prescribed to help prevent migraines from forming in the first place, but since it's an antidepressant depending on your biological makeup and what other medications you take it may not be for you. Side effect wise the only thing I've experienced from it is some really weird fucking dreams, which doctors seem to disagree as to whether they are caused by the Nortriptyline or if it is just that you always have them and just have a tendency to remember them more often. Sometimes these can be nightmares and other times they are just the kind of dreams that make you wonder what the fuck you took/smoke/drank/did the night before. They also tend to be more... "life like" and feel more real, much like a lucid dream feels and can actually cause lucid dreams without having to practice the technique for it, however random they may be. Of course this is personal experience and may have to do with a combination of other medications.
I'm 20 years old and have been getting migraines since I was... 11 or so, with them increasing in frequency over the years due to lack of sleep and other problems. My mom and most of my aunts also get migraines so I've had plenty of time to try new methods to help with them.
(If your migraines tend to make you nauseous strong (unsweetened) peppermint mints or peppermint tea can help a great deal to settle your stomach, unfortunately it tends to be fairly short term.

emotional: tough one, i have i think my big four1) when I was in highschool a cousin I had grown up with, actually gave me my first kiss when we were little, was murdered. stabbed to death several times by a drunk kid. it took me a very long time to come to terms with his death.
2) being cheated on by my one and only girlfriend
3) being nearly raped once (got away), second time an internship supervisor jumped me in the middle of the street, got arrested for having sex in public and then i had to walk almost all the way home in the middle of the night because i had no money left. next day my host mother called me a whore and threatened to kick me out. wonderful woman.
4) being told i was weak by someone i cared about for no good reason. this plus coupled with the pressured of getting into law school...bad combination...
physical: i fell on some ice and landed on a curb. i got a compression fracture on my spine. lost a centimeter of height, which i eventually regained. but so damn painful. i couldn't take meds for the pain though because it made me nauseous whenever i had to think and i had midterms.
*Hugs in a non-creepy way* So sorry to hear this Fi, and while I'm sure you have someone in your life now that you can talk to and not have to worry if you ever feel like you need to talk to someone feel free to PM me. Although since I'm a stranger, and a man at that it'd probably just make you feel uncomfortable lol. While I have no idea what it's like to be raped or to even be in that kind of situation I do know what it's like to be considered weak by someone who you thought you could trust, and actually feeling weak for "no reason."
Just thought I'd put that offer out there, feel free to ignore me.
Well, that's what I get for only checking the master list of games thread and not looking for myself, but I'd rather bring to notice a way of owning the five games in a way that (financially) shows that there is still an interest in the classic X-COM games and that not everyone wants more frigging FPS games. If we just boycott the new game regardless of if it's actually worth playing they may just completely dump the series again. So if people at least buy these off steam it sends more of the message we want to send as opposed to just pirating them.
Physically/mentally: living with Hereditary Spastic Paraplegia It's uh... a challenge, to say the least, to experience all kinds of pain every day and to still try and move forward.
Emotionally: watching the girl I'm in love with fall in love with someone else, I need to just let her go , but as long as it's been it's not exactly easy heh.

I don't know how many of you have ever heard of them or played them before the new FPS game was announced but they were originally Tactical Turn Based Strategy games where you gave orders to a paramilitary group created to fend off the alien invaders. Any description I attempt to give it wouldn't do it justice so I advise doing some research of your own instead.
My main purpose of this thread is to let old fans of the game who may have lost their copies or can't get them to work, Steam has them up for $5 a piece, including two games I didn't know existed, one being what looks like a third person shooter and the other a space fighter sim or whatever it's called. Or, if you're planning on getting more than one you can get all five for $15.
I can't wait to get a chance to play X-COM Apocalypse again and give UFO Defense a try, as well as give Terror From the Deep another go and hope I don't die on the first mission again like the last three times I tried... Anyone else thing TFTD is harder than Apocalypse?

The first game with the Shifter mod is better, but Invisible Wars is definitely worth a playthrough. I recommend keeping a silenced pistol with the glass destabilizer with you at all times.
Warlords: Battlecry 2, the only RTS game I've played and enjoyed. It's a mix of RPG and RTS in that you create a hero out of I think 11 different races and 10 different classes and as you level up you get new abilities and spells to use to help conquer your enemies as well as lower the cost of building new units. You can also find new equipment either by killing enemy heroes or by completing quests that increase your skills and damage or reduce damage. It's especially a great game for RTS beginners (like me) because you can alter the game speed or even pause it and still issue orders. Also if you make/download a good training map you can level up your hero easily and find good equipment to help make the campaign easier (your hero's level and equipment carry over from the campaign to skirmishes and vice versa). Also in order to help keep the campaign interesting the developers made it so that you start in a different part of the world map depending on what race your hero is.
I've also heard the third game is good but I haven't had a chance to try it.

I'd like to play horror games but for most/all of the older ones (PSX era, Parasite Eve 2 for example) I have problems with the controls and end up getting frustrated having to redo large areas of the game because of how spread out the save spots are, especially in... was it RE2 that you only had a limited number of typewriter ink rolls/strips/whatever they were? Parasite Eve 2 I would especially like to play all the way through. Way back when I first played it (a year or so after its release) I played... at least halfway through using Game Shark codes for ammo and health as well as guns I wouldn't normally have access too (Gunblade for example) but I don't want to do that again. So I guess my only choice is to use save states on an emulator heh... still cheating in a way but eh who cares...

I do love the STALKER games though. (With a modded inventory space, it's cheating but I can't stand only carrying two guns and a handful of ammo. Exaggerating but still.) Sad to say I haven't beaten any of them, I get so far through them and get burned out because I spend so much time doing all the side quests instead of the main quest.
I also tried System Shock 2 last year, was a pain getting it working right on XP and customizing the controls was even more of a pain but once I got it working I fell in love. Until another game distracted me heh, sometimes I have a really short attention span when it comes to games. I only got to the second deck with all the radiation in the hallways before I switched to a different game and forgot about it.

Freelancer
Great game to load up and spend a few hours (or months) building up credits for the next new more powerful ship.
Sid Meier's: Pirates!
Another great "casual" game to load up when you've got nothing to do.
Azure Dreams (GBC/PSX)
A Mystery Dungeon-like RPG where you raise monsters and explore a "giant" tower. (GBC version has a larger dungeon, PSX is more challenging and has more sidequests.)
Actraiser
Sidescrolling action-platformer combined with a town raising sim. The larger the population in your towns the higher your level as well as greater opportunities to find new types of magic and other items.
Brain Lord
An action RPG that requires a good deal of thinking in order to get past some of the puzzles includes a (somewhat) unique method of adding creatures to help fight beside you. Throughout the game you can find various pieces of Jade and each one carries a different type of fairy within it. Some help you fight by either throwing fireballs or orbs of water, some help to heal or revive you others increase your defense or provide light in dark areas so you don't kill yourself by jumping in a pit or onto spikes. You can gather/buy different types of magic and weapons including swords, morningstars, boomerangs and axes. There's no mana or MP for spellcasting, just simply hold the attack button until the magic bar is full and release to fire your favorite spell. (God I love old-school Enix games.)
And plenty of others I can't think of right now.

I understand Jacob and the mod's reason for banning loli but the crusade against various types of hentai is getting ridiculous (as if it wasn't ridiculous to begin with). I'm all for finding an alternative way for hosting/viewing such content as long as it isn't going to screw the rest of Fakku over. So basically... please find a way to get around this if you can (with the exception of various translators and pant.su I've all but run out of loli sources), but as always keeping the site alive and true to it's roots (free, high quality, frequently updated etc.) is priority #1. Though I would be willing to pay a fee for a "premium section" containing loli if Jacob wasn't screwed by the contract heh. Keep up the good work Fakku staff.
I know it's off topic but if you check this thread again RBZ, will you be recreating your manga upload thread sans loli or are you abandoning that effort for the time being?
