It's not that uncommon. A lot of times when you have a lot of volatile emotions to the point of "overflowing" they tend to come out in other expressive emotions.

I go to a "independent study highschool", in which I go to school only once a week, but I get a crapload of homework for the rest of the week. It's a christian school, and everyone devoutly follows christianity, meaning that they want to keep their purity 'till marriage.
