Okay hello. You must be new to the internet. Here's a sliver of knowledge for you: People have avatars of whatever they want, and an avatar is generally not to be taken as a remotely good representation of the person.
As for why any girl on the internet bring pegged as an attention whore? Untrue. It's the act of going around broadcasting "I'M A GIRL, I'M A GIRL" that is categorized as being an attention whore.
There is no need for gender specification. What do you hope to achieve, anyway? By knowing via their profile if someone is male or female, you intend to treat them differently? This is assuming they set it truthfully to begin with.
