LOL, you don't get it, my oppinion isn't that I belive it is a casual console, more that the perception that it is a casual console does exists. And one of the main reasons for that is the ad campaigns.moreover I totally agree that alot of the cute looking games are really hardcore, such as zelda, pokemon, Harvest moon.
Its a very accesible console, for people who wasnt to play casually and others who are more hardcore. It tries to cater to everyone and this has put some people off.

You can't label a system casual just because of a few dorky commercials... If that's the case then the first Zelda would be the most casual game ever.
The real gamers go where the games is, and that's the DS in this case.
Wii being the exception because it got WiiFit and all that shit. None of that on the DS, except maube Loco Roco, or wait...

The DS has plenty of Hardcore games, unless you only count brown/grey shooters as "hardcore".
And one of the biggest reasons the DS totally murdered the PSP was because of it's vast and diverse library of games.
I didn't even know there was a "All Ages version", and if you wanna steam VN's without any sex there's way better Visual Novels to play than KiraKira.
