Blackraider78 and Eranikum. I understood both your points the first time, and I understand them the 2nd time.
If you recall, I stated-
MY point being, be prepared for anything. If you can calm them down at gunpoint and duck tape them up, brilliant, why wouldn't you?
However do not expect them to sit there and allow you to do so, nor expect them to run at the first sound you make. That only gives you a disadvantage.
I simply do not agree with doing everything in your power to protect THEIR well being over your own. It was their mistake, not yours. No, they should not die for petty theft. However, if aggressive a gunshot to the foot might be in order to protect yourself and prevent them from making the same mistake again to someone else.
THAT is my point. I think it is close to Fiery Penguin's.

...I would not recommend charging out and shooting them right off the bat, but I would also not recommend dismissing that possibility just because they might have personal issues.

New MMO coming out, know very little about it. Looks like a GTA type game.
Either way, what I found interesting was the INSANE customization it has... truly a retarded amount of options.
If you want to read up on it, some info here-

I have to say, the +rep no -rep idea is still a valid one... I remember my first rep; it was for a joke I made that York found funny. I felt like posting even more and that this community would come to accept and all my flaws. It was probably one of my most cherished moments here. I think everyone has a similar first rep story which is why I believe it would still be acceptable to have +reps. It reinvigorates your purpose on these forums; to make people smile. As carebear as I sound right now; I honestly believe what I'm saying... I think I lost sight of my purpose at one point and got too focused on my own amusement or being right all the time. That competitiveness is still in me, I can't go back to flowers and puppy dogs waar, but I think my recent behavior can show that it is possible to be who I am without shoving my dick down everyone's throat(good analogy right?)If I cried, you would have just brought a tear to my eye, Waar. That was brilliantly said, and precisely the reason I am still for the system.
While I think Jacob made a good move removing it temporarily, I would not mind seeing it back.

Indeed, most of the facts are here.
After so long you look for something new, something different. Well, tentacles are different.
Heh, my brother sent me this pic as a joke awhile ago. It CREEPS me out, yet also intrigues me...
(NOTE: it's real, not hentai. Not for the squeamish)

The only way to rule the world is if very few people knew you did. If people knew you controlled the world, they would fight against you. If no one knew, no one would fight.

I dunno, I think AK-47s are less accurate due to more recoil. And it's not like they will be used in the desert or very humid rain forests too often. I don't know how well they can me modded, either.
Plus I think people are uneasy around them due to their reputation in wars... Heh, oddly enough because they are good guns they are feared guns.
I would say M16 or the like. Heavily modifiable, versatile, and a good range of uses. If your paying that much for a gun, your going to use it for pretty much everything.

recently switched my ISP, used to get TOPS 120KB/s, normally 40-70KB/s. Now I get about 400KB/s.(average download speeds, not connection speeds)
HELL of an upgrade. I live waaaay out in the middle of nowhere, so this is epic here.

While I agree with some of the things said here, I think they are too unrealistic.
Yes, if a man has no other options than to break into a house and take what he needs to survive, I do not think he should die.
However, if a man breaks into a house to make some extra easy cash and/or rape, injure, kill, beat up(so on) someone, I do not place much value in their existence. While death would not be top on the list, if it's them or me what do you think I would choose? Or anyone would choose for that matter.
However my biggest issue with things: How would you know?
You wake up in the middle of the night and hear someone inside your house... is reasoning with them your first instinct? NO!
Sure, call the cops. But what are you going to do until the get here? Only a matter of time till he/she notice they are not alone. You don't know their situation, nor weather or not they mean harm.
That type of a situation should be treated as 'it's you or them'. Who should endure the most hardship, the unlucky homeowner or the thief? That is what it all comes down to.
Yes, I would not recommend charging out and shooting them right off the bat, but I would also not recommend dismissing that possibility just because they might have personal issues.
It's called defense for a reason.

Like every other form of verbal expression, profanity thrives on intelligent and creative use of language, a skill which NOBODY EXCEPT FOR ME few enough people possess.I have no qualms with coarseness. When in private, I speak as coarsely as a Whig and swear like a sailor, but none the less, I don't habitually use profanity in excess. I am coarse because in private I feel I have the right to call things by their name.
Excessive profanity doesn't bother me because it's profanity. It bothers me because it's excessive, like a verbal tic. Like someone ending every sentence in "you know what I'm saying?". It's fucking grating because it's repetitive as balls, god-damn trite and bloody boring, you know what I'm saying?
Profanity can be an efficient way to add emphasis, or humour. But profanity alone does not equal humour, and if you constantly emphasize every second word, the emphasis is lost.
But, I'd much rather speak with someone whose every second word is "fuck", as long as their IQ is above room temperature, than talking to an elegant and refined dullard.
In closing, I'm not sure whether it's a matter of generations. Perhaps it is for you anglo-americans. But for what it is worth, the most foul-mouthed person I have ever met, was my grand-mother. None of us teens could have even only dreamt to compete with the never-ending stream of military-grade expletives shooting forth from her mouth.
lol I'll do my best to rep you once the system is turned back on, my friend.

I remember as a kid how I would listen to my parents let one slip now and then, and wonder what it was about the word that made it so age restricted.
I never swore, the worst word I even knew most of my youth was 'butthead', and that was hardcore.
Heh, needless to say my ability to add profanity to my sentences has increased dramatically. However, as most people, I limit myself when there is a need to(at work, with grandparents) or if there is simply no point to(like now).
I agree, over use of any word only makes you look dumb or uncreative. Rarely does it help ones cause.
However, you really are seeing it a lot more often. Even people you would least expect.
I think this is watering down its meaning, which only means people need to say it more often to get the same reaction, thus making a slippery slope effect.
Then again, they are only words. Words mean nothing... their only what people make of them.

I'm surprised, would have thought more people would be using earphones rather than headphones if for no other reason than they are more widely available due to iPods and such.
I use earphones. While I hear they are much worse for your ears due to them being 'in' your ears(sound waves do not disburse as much as with headphones, so more stress on your eardrums), they are a lot more convenient for me and a hell of a lot less noticeable.
For years I have pretty much always had an MP3 player with me at nearly all times. Around 80% of the time though I only use 1 earpiece. This allows me to subconsciously choose weather to listen to what people are saying or what song happens to be playing.
While you 'can' do this with headphones... I just don't like doing it.

lol I don't know, I think that's a random enough question to be quite fitting for Random.
Answering though, no. And as others have said, I'm pretty damned sure I could not get hard even if I tried. Props to those 7+ people who have, though.

Halloween costumes are simply eye candy regardless of their representation. There is no true point to them other than to attract attention from others, for better or worse.
That said, I find the entire thing pointless... but if females are willing to show more skin then normal for this pointless event, I am not one to complain.
However, knowing my opinion is pretty much useless to this conversation, I'll add that I agree. I do think costumes have become bland and repetitive.
My idea for a Halloween costume consists of metal pipes lined horizontally up a vest, all connected to one another via various wires that lead up to a hand held trigger. You then throw on(or grow) a beard and drive to your local Wal-Mart. Charge the front door, burst inside, and scream "ALLAAAAAAAH!!!" holding the trigger into the air and run around madly until security tackles you.
Some call this terrorism, I call it being true to the holiday itself: scaring the shit out of people.
