While we still wait for summer to come around, Coupe has got us covered in the meantime. Unlike the darker theme of their last story, this time they bring us something a lot more lighthearted about a teacher mesmerized by one of her students during swim class. The poor guy almost drowns while she's lost in her daydreams, but after she rescues him and he asks if they can stay after school and practice swimming, it starts to sink in that her fantasies are about to become reality.
We then visits the not so distant future with Wakame-san, where androids have become such an integrated part of everyday life, it's not uncommon for them to serve as companions to their human masters. However, it seems like they're not all they're cracked up to be, and perhaps the AI's self-learning has gone too far when a "sexaroid" takes after her owner and sits around in a sweatsuit playing video games instead of welcoming him home at the end of the day. It's time to find out whether they need to take a trip to the scrapyard, or if this bot still has it in her to carry out her expected duties.
Finally, while some believe it was already over, the true future of France will be decided this weekend. The French people pray for a miracle as the English army besiege the city of Orléans, and their prayers are answered in the form on Jeanne D'Arc... sensei. But will she have time to bring salvation to Orléans and also meet her upcoming deadline for her monthly Kairakuten BEAST manuscript? Find out on the latest Hitori chapter!
Artists: Bota Mochito (cover), Bota Mochito, Pyon-Kti, Hinasaki Yo, Okumoto Yuta, Tomohiro Kai, kakao, Tsukitokage, Thomas, Hishigata Tomaru, Maki Tatsuki, Sakurazari Hotori, Pennel, Coupe, Satsuki Neko, Saijou Satoru, Takemasa Takeshi, Shimazu Tekkou, Pei, Wakame-san, Hitori

As it happens, all the other chapters from the latest BEAST issue have already been released. I apologize for dropping the ball with last month's BEAST previews. To make up for it, here's the sneak peek for the new issue that's just around the corner. Since I haven't had the chance to look at these chapters myself yet, I'm simply going to let the sample images speak for themselves. You can expect the first chapter in the next a few days!

Everyone who worked on this book was at some point confused by the order (me included), but yes, for some reason the middle row of panels is read left-to-right on a lot of pages, resulting in an overall S shape when you read a page. I thought this was just the case for the first three chapters, since the heroine was a foreigner, but it's apparently something Yurikawa likes to do. Rather unconventional, but in case anything reads weird, you most likely just need to start from the other end of the page!

On a side note, we are trying out a slightly tweaked releasing schedule for magazine chapters. The regular three daily releases are still scheduled between 6am and 4pm PST, but when we have four chapters (typically Friday-Sunday) we release them every 4th hour between 6am and 6pm.

In the past we've had books with 2-3 chapters that were already in the subscription, and we've tried some different things with those. Now that we've published these magazines for so long, most of the books that come out have already been published through the subscription, and this book is the first example of that. One of our upcoming releases is in a similar spot. We don't want to have two separate, competing version for each chapter up on the site, so I believe the current subscription chapters will be turned into book chapters when it's time to release them. And yes, they have been updated for the book release.
Naturally that means several chapters from an individual author is removed from the subscription, but it should have very little impact on the experience overall. 7 chapters from this book are affected, but right now we add 21-24 full chapters each week (3/day + 1 extra short Friday-Sunday when available + illustrations/spreads), so you'll never lose overall value unless we start releasing two books/week. One exception I could see would be if a book comes out shorty after the last magazine chapter was released. In that case it would be fair to leave that one as a subscription chapter for a while, but for this book, the newest chapter has already been on the site for over five months, which I think is a more than reasonable amount of time.

Following up on our first book by F4U, Curiosity XXXed the Cat, we're happy to announce that we'll soon bring their the latest work: Excursion Day 99!
This is our first book release where subscribers have been able to read most of the chapters the same month they were published in Japan. We hope you look forward to revisiting updated version of your old favorite chapters, some dating back almost two years back before we officially launched our subscription service. And of course for those collectors out there who prefer physical media, later this year you can for the first time hold an official English copy of this book with your own two hands!
What's more, F4U has written a new afterword exclusively for our release, directly addressing all of their Western fans. When possible, our goal going forward is to have all authors write something new for you, starting with those published by Wanimagazine (who publish all of our current magazines in Japan).
Release Dates
Pre-Order - March 23rd, 2017
Digital - March 30th, 2017

Part of the reason why I can't do all the previews anymore is because I translate this magazine each month. I'll continue writing the BEAST previews for the same reason though: I already know the stories, so it's pretty easy for me to sum up the chapters in a few sentences, compared to having to first skim through the pages.
Yes, and it's a really cute chapter too!

Come watch the blooming cherry blossoms from a hospital garden bench with Akagi Asahito in their latest cover illustration and color+monochrome chapter. Then in Hinasaki Yo's story, we see two childhood friends reunite after they enter the same school. Back when they were kids, the two used to go play in an abandoned house that they had turned into their own secret base, and one day during their innocent childhood, their curiosity got the better of them. Now that they're more grown up, they discover another secret base at a secluded area of the school library, and they continue their game where they last left off many years ago.
Okumoto Yuta tells the tale of a delivery man who gets assigned to a new delivery route. Many guys before him have lost their jobs working this area, and it becomes apparent why when he arrives at an apartment filled with housewives looking for something fun to do during daytime. After swiftly making his deliveries and ignoring the advances of a few less-than-discreet ladies, he's greeted by a docile-looking woman wearing an apron at his next stop. When he sees her struggling to lift the heavy package he came to drop off, he offers to carry it into her apartment, assured that she won't try anything indecent…
Much like in last's month's story by Thomas, this new 212 chapter is about a girlfriend who walks in on her boyfriend using an adult toy, but this time the girlfriend is a lot more upset with what she sees. Finally, BEAST veteran Bota Mochito is back again, and this month we have a shrine maiden who sees a beefy man praying and/or complaining to the Gods about his virginity—right after she read her own love fortune saying she'll meet the man of her dreams if she helps out someone in need.

As it stands right now, we're looking at exactly 20 "books" to be released in 2017. This includes your typical books and doujinshi compilations, but not individual doujinshi releases. This is assuming there are no delays, which makes it a somewhat optimistic figure. At the same time, we are currently in the middle of hiring more staff, and one of the main reasons for this is to boost the books side of the business in the next few months.
It's hard to tell right now how the next 10 months will turn out, but I believe we'll end up with a total of 15-25 releases at the end of the year, so 20 is a fair estimate.
