My Idea was to put a 24 hour time on it at least before you could claim via pairs. To cause some butt hurt I would make a character usable in a pair only once. For example if someone Claimed Tohsaka Rin and Sakura Matou as a sister set, then no one could claim a set based on the main Fate heroine set as two of them have already been used.A 24 hour time limit on claims? Meaning that if you came in during the 3rd round, you'd have to claim 3 characters over the course of 72 hours? How devilish of you. But that's the beauty of that. It's a very good idea to implement. The same goes for the set idea, but Waar doesn't want that rule to be included.

Id be more inclined to add something like the host takes a large list of popular series and uses a random number generator to invalidate a couples of series from being picked for a round or the first few hours of a round... its not a terrible idea but it needs to be polished. That could work... but then you get the feeling that it would affect way too little people. I'm thinking it would be better to inverse that. The host chooses a X number of anime/manga/games/etc (depending on the number of women present in the material correlates to the magnitude of X), and then people would have to make a claim from those sources for whichever round the host brings it in at.

If you want to think up new ideas, think of things that are in line with the original spirit of the game; greed and jealousy, a game where you step over the corpses of your friends and enemies as you earn the waifu you love, the waifu you deserve.I've been thinking... if you want the game to be as competitive and as thrilling as your wanting it to be... how about curve balls? For example:
Say the Waifu game is going as it usually does, and during some point in the middle of the third round, you invalidate all of the second round picks. No one can claim for about the next 24hrs after this is announced. But during those 24 hours, the person who is hosting the game can rattling off some other thing to add to the intensity (i.e. Invalidating all claims up to that point, or not allowing a specific waifu to be claimed until such-and-such a time, or even any waifu from some certain anime/game/manga/ect until the next round). After the 24 hours are up it's a free-for-all (meaning the host doesn't say when). In the case where the host invalidated all claims up to that point, everyone would be able to claim 3 characters at once. Albeit, it'll be harder to keep track of and would be more frustrating for more people, but it'll give you the greed element. There will always be that jealousy when you see people claiming a waifu you really wanted. So those two bases are covered.
Of course, there are a limit to the extra things the host can do during that 24hrs to spice up the game, as they can't make up an NTR rule, or violate any of the other ground rules of the game. And they'd be limited to only one extra "flavoring" of spice.
Just a thought that I wanted to voice.

edit: The 10th Touhou popularity poll started. http://thwiki.info/th/vote10/
Stop clearing these bosses like they're nothing! It makes me feel weak and pathetic in terms of Touhou... kinda discouraging...
It's because I have too much free time and I end up playing the games a lot. [size=9]I have no life, in short.[/h]
I have a lot of free time too... but I usually just dawdle the time away.
Also... took me about 15 minutes to vote for the characters. Flan-chan as #1, followed by Chen, Seija, Momiji, and then Orin.

I liked reclaim but now that I think of it, it's not really fair.Very true, but it could also be argued from the other side that it would be very reassuring to be able to reclaim a waifu you really really love. Which is what made me think of the "permanency" waifu rule.

When is the next waifu game? Depends on the time I might be able to host it... If allowed of course. And, the species rule will also work with clones, like Misaka Imouto from To Aru Kagaku no Railgun. You can't claim ALL of the clones, and you can only marry clones that have significant role in the anime/manga/novel.
I would love to have sixth waifu rule for old fags back though... Maybe something like 'for people who already joined at least 5 games before'?
I like the current rules, why not have both? So someone can have 7 waifus. I don't think it makes much differences anyhow.
Could also bring back reclaims, in the form of a lotto. I got some ideas on how that should be ran, but it isn't up to me. And even if you don't want to do a lotto, it's still a viable option.

Shinobu is a good girlYou! How dare you! I can't stop listening to it now... for nearly three weeks in a row that's been stuck in my head. Why? Why is it stuck in my head? Is it because of the little rhythm in the background? Sure, that may be a part of it. Is it because it's catchy? Absolutely... not. Is it because it's a song made in sync with Shinobu's words? Possibly. Is it because of Shinobu's laugh. YES! Hit the nail on the head. I can't stop listening to it because of her two laughs during loop that keeps replaying. I am now enthralled by her laughter. Awkward, if I do say so myself, but it feels so amazing when I hear her laugh.
I'm throwing my vote for Pump. Despite the fact that it was on short notice, he ran the game very well. I like the rule check he came up with (despite it lacking a bit more subtly), and he continued with the mecha claim for those who were interested. He came up with the set rule, which needs to be worked on, but it made people happier.
Tbh, there isn't much more that can be "ideally" added to the rules of the Waifu game to make it more exciting.
The only thing I ever thought of was making the permanency rule (i.e. claimed them for more than 7 games in a row, you get them no matter what), but I think there's some resistance to that rule as well.

Jen, is that the party game you were talking about?Yes, we all should try and see if the built-in netplay works without further modifications or assistance from third-party network applications. It might be fun to play this together, probably maybe possibly.
Pfft... I tried it, and got last in everything... no matter what I did, or who I choose too.

I just discovered human benchmark websites that let you measure your reaction time to visual and audio inputs. I'm wondering if these are relevant to touhou where quickly seeing (and sometimes hearing) all the necessary bullets can make all the difference. I've played with it for a while and found some interesting things.274ms for visual, 123.2ms for audio. Overall, average.

Sinker Ghost isn't part of easy mode. That don't matter. Captain Murasa is my arch-nemesis, and that's that.

So you are one of those ghostly crew members in stage 4. Either way, this is your advance warning to start playing it until you have dreams (or nightmares) of the stages. If you wake up screaming "damn curvy lasers" it means you need 30 more hours of practice.Curvy lasers aren't the problem, they're easy. The biggest problem is Murasa's Last Spellcard. And I already scream "DAMN YOU MOTHERFUCKING MURASA!" every time I face her.
Happy birthday Zafhner. I know just wishing you a good day isn't much, but it could always be worse, like being born on leap year or forgetting it was your birthday.

That's even worse. I can't even get off of the ship, with Murasa making me one of her crew members.
