Went through Aiyoku no Eustia; I had a Chinese patch. The sense of unreality faded further and further to norm as the truths were unveiled, so I can't say I like it too much, but it is a good story.
Am going through Grisaia no Kajitsu right now. So far, Thirty minutes into the story, I can't say that I'm impressed yet. A very everyday setting.
I actually haven't finish Kamidori yet, it's simple and fun but still... tedious when you're trying to farm a certain material. Probably will finish it, but not now.
Rewrite is something I haven't touch, I'll look further into it.
The latest Shikigami looks interesting, but there hasn't been a torrent out yet.

I haven't been around for quite some time, but I can see there hasn't been much er, readable VNs. So I want to ask around for VN recommendations for this year 2011. Any good stuff to read?

More like, it's so terribly tedious right till the very end (Still have one disaster left running around randomly... So goddamn annoying...) you don't feel quite motivated for the next playthrough, and I'm only going through it again because I haven't seen the true end.

It is supposed to be tactically 'as good or better' than Sengoku Rance, hopefully the handicap would be there.
Giving Rance voice would damage his character, it's better to leave the series as it is.
The Rance series is not going to end for a long time, but there maybe be a lot of year gaps in between (Three to four years I'm guessing).

There are no whole truths in this world. Whatever way you use to extract information, it will always be flawed and partial. It is up to the extractor to authenticate the information and decide whether to act upon it.
I should have put it this way: Remove the humanity part from the discussion, and yes, torture is just another word in the book of extracting information. An option as considerable as the other methods.
However you might try to justify it, torture or no, the subject's privacy, freedom and mind's integrity will be violated in order to extract the information you need. Sweet talking a person instead of torturing him does not make your sins any lighter. If that is the case, if torture was the better way under certain circumstances, might as well do it. Since you do have a million lives to save after all, no?

Torture is simply a way to obtain the partial truth out of people. There are many ways better or worse compared to this method, but usually it depends on the time given. Either way, if one method is justified, so is another, I don't care about the morality topics so if 'nice guy' method is ok, so is torture.
