Most people are turned away by the huge download size (or using torrents instead) and the 15+ tag I suppose. As for the ignorant people, just ignore them. You can follow girlcelly as a role model.
Hah... I suppose I can't say no to a good story then. I'll try to sneak in some time to read it.
Now, on to my real review on 锿³•使ã„ã®å¤œ.
Well, let's start off with some of my biggest issues with Type Moon. Instead of making a sequel to Tsukihime or Fate series (Though I do understand that with Realta Nua and Hollow Ataraxia, the Fate story is officially closed), they make stupid stuff like the recent-I-forgot-its-name anime, Fate/Extra, etc etc... All kinds of stupid stuff that ugh, so goddamned annoying. It's been years since I first read Fate/Stay Night and they somehow managed to screw around so long without releasing anything resembling a VN.
But when they release one, GOD it is so incredible. This one is absolute top tier and most likely the VN of the Year; I simply cannot see anything else that could top this yet.
Let's introduce the characters. So obviously this tells about the tale of Aoko Aozaki, the 'sensei' to Tohno Shiki of Tsukihime. She was asked by her teacher to guide a new transfer student Soujuurou Shizuki, a person who lived in the mountains for his entire life until that day where he officially enrolled to this high school. Living together with Aoko Aozaki is a girl named Alice Kuonji, who was also a magician just like Aoko and always wears a cold and quiet demeanor.
I'm not actually sure how to express my various emotions on the characters, but there is one thing I could tell. Soujuurou is one of the most well written ORIGINAL male protagonist in VNs I have ever seen. Of course the other two female protagonist are equally awesome (I especially love Alice and OH MY GOD SHE IS SO BEAUTIFUL - yeah I should restrain myself >_>), but heck, it's just too bloody rare to find a good VN with an equally interesting male protagonist to talk about.
Next would be the atmosphere and pace of the story. To put it shortly, this is the first - yes, you heard me, the FIRST - and ONLY VN which message speed settings I didn't change to max. I always set them to max because it makes reading faster, but thank god I didn't change this one - almost did it out of habit before changing my mind. I had the feeling that, if I speed the text up even a little, it could ruin the experience and pleasure I got from the VN. Never have I enjoyed the atmosphere of a VN so much - I mean, of course I enjoyed to equal extent 装甲悪鬼æ‘æ£ which themes are crazily controversial to social norms, but one with a relaxed atmosphere? Never. The entire story was moved, literally moved by Soujuurou, and that almost NEVER happens in VNs where stereotypes are rampant and sex is king.
On to the animation.
Holy shit.
I don't know what to say. Maybe something like, "Now THIS is what I call a Visual Novel!" "Fuck Animes can go to hell" "OMG ALICE~~~~~", you'll have to go through it yourself to know what I mean. 锿³•使ã„ã®å¤œ graphic animation is most defi-FUCKING-nitely the indisputable king of all VNs from the past to now. Oh yes. Oh FUCKING yes, I can't wait for Tsukihime's sequel GODDAMMIT MAKE IT ALREADY SERIOUSLY HOW LONG YOU WANT TO DRAG IT TYPEMOON????!?
Ehem... To the music and OST. Now I'm the type who loves ochestras and classical music, so the OST in 锿³•使ã„ã®å¤œ is absolutely brilliant to my ears, though someone else might differ my opinion. At any rate, I believe it to be again, TOP TIER MUSIC - though there is one track that I don't quite like near the end of the story - and the Ending Song is beautiful.
So, all of that's been said... Those who have the VN but haven't read it, by god, start reading. You certainly won't regret it. 9.99/10 score because of that one track that I dislike, but what the hell, who cares about such a subjective issue? ALICEEEEEEE!!!!!! <3

I'm tempted to touch the Muv Luv series. I have heard a tonne of positive reviews about it (though initially, mixed reactions from well known reviewers, in addition to a quite antiqued art style and seemingly stereotype characters - which put me off it until now), but I'll still like some final opinions. Of course, I want a SENIOR's opinion on Muv Luv; someone who has played at least 50 VNs to start. I really don't have much time to dwell on VNs lately so I'll like to reduce the amount of inferior VNs I read in the process of testing them...
Well, there IS an English translation for Deardrops, in fact...
Kira Kira -> Kira Kira Curtain Call (main POV a new protagonist (insignificant though) and Murakami) -> Deardrops (New protagonist, two years after Kira Kira? Kirari now a star singer and meets Kirari briefly) -> d2b vs Deardrops: Cross the Future (As the title says, the protagonists from the two VNs meet and compete).
Though to be honest, Kira Kira probably is the best VN after so many series I guess. There's also a PSP version for Deardrops called Deardrops Distortion (Jap sorry haha) where you get to read an alternate route in addition to the ones in Deardrops, where the band adds an unlikely member and present themselves in GOLDEN outfits. <3
Actually, why don't you just use AGTH/ATLAS? If you say that you can't bear the terrible English well, it IS machine translated English, and as long as you understand what it means it should be fine. You'll miss out a lot of VNs (Actually, a tonne of them) if you try to wait for a translation for let's say, the Baldr Sky series. Though there is a Chinese version for Baldr Sky now, and they're pretty darn quick (about 1 or 2 years? No joke, if you've played the game you'll know that it's crazily huge).

Kira☆Kira - Just finished it. The true ending was really disappointing for me, to be completely honest. It didn't feel like the protagonist and the female role had any form of romantic connection at the end, it was strictly casual looking,Lol, well, you have to know that their once pure 'connection' was now

On to 锿³•使ã„ã®å¤œ.
Holy. Fucking. Shit.
I haven't finished it yet, no. I hope that whatever I'm reading is but the beginning of an awesome, awesome story, because HOLY FUCK. WHAT THE HELL DID I JUST READ. SCREW MY FINAL EXAMS. HOLY MOTHER FUCKING WOW.
Well, Katawa Shoujo is a good start I suppose (It was also my first VN XD). I suppose you can try for Edelweiss, Kira Kira (Which is absolutely amazing, and a J-rock VN), Fate/Stay Night (Too famous), Tsukihime (DEATH), Sengoku Rance (Infamous SLG gameplay VN with amazing art and sex)/Eiyuu Senki (A recent one, with gameplay on par or better than SR and pure love sex scenes), Clannad (Prepare for 300 hours of reading - or that's what the 300 hour guide say, but hell this cost so much time, SO MUCH TEARS, I DON'T HAVE ENOUGH TISSUES), Muramasa (You need a strong heart to read this, it's a story about guilt and murder. But it is one of the absolute best VN you can find), Baldr Sky Dive 1 and 2 (Probably what you ordered, with an addictive action gameplay and excellent, EXCELLENT storyline, which I couldn't find in 99% console/PC games nowadays), Muv-Luv series (haven't really read any of them because the art style repels me, but it's got a tonne of positive reviews), 穢翼ã®ãƒ¦ãƒ¼ã‚¹ãƒ†ã‚£ã‚¢ (Decent storyline and angel wings as a SIGN OF SIN HELL YEAH), Ein No Aselia (Such an old SLG VN. Such a classic. Such a beauty that I cannot delete it as I did to so many other lousy VNs)...
Oh yes. The list is endless. You'll drown until you're 50 years old, my buddy. You'll be trying to corrupt your friends with similar ideas. Are you SURE you want to join us? xD
EDIT: Btw, start with Edelweiss, since that's you want something light hearted. While the storyline is somewhat common, it has a stunningly gorgeous artstyle. I especially like the ones in the fandisk, but you should start with the original first.

I just finished reading all of Cross Channel and it was an awesome read! The characters didn't leave much of an impact.. though it left me kind of depressed.. But I just started playing My girlfriend is the President and I love each character more than the next! Next up on my list is most likely Steins;Gate.Sorry, I had to ask - what anime is that on your sig?
I tried to do it the hard way to get special items, and it seems that dome events won't start unless you go by the recommended way so the events i get at one time are massive. So it was bearable... but you probably should finish it, if just to get that character who fell through a dimensional hole chasing a lunch bo. XD.
Eiyuu Senki. Some of the best games SLG I've played yet. It forgoes the standard repeated playthrough style and allows you to complete every single event in one go. An incredibly huge world and filled with characters, with a storyline that's not so common that people would go bleh-so-predictable.
The small changes in the game such as quick battle animation, but still providing Ctrl speed up function; foregoing the information page (usually contains irrelevant information about a single character) and instead displaying the crucial ones instantly at the left of the screen (while you're hovering over units), amazing art etc makes gaming experience extremely, extremely rewarding and addictive.
After you've conquered a nation, you have the choice to rest indefinitely (yes, INFINITY) to cash up and complete all the events you've accumulated during the conquering process (when you capture a territory, you're rewarded with events). As I've said above, you can finish absolutely all stories in one run, and I find that very attractive for a SLG game. Except for the very final stages of the game of course, but by then you shouldn't have trouble holding off a wave or two. You'll face at most 2 WAVES of enemies unless you've made enemies with more than one country (which you shouldn't), although there's one time I have to fight of 3 WAVES for unknown reason. Regulate your army and you'll be fine.
I'm putting it ON PAR, if not ABOVE SENGOKU RANCE overall. And it is a PURE LOVE VN, with no rapes whatsoever. It's absolutely incredible.
There's also a special appearance by a very well known character (HINT: Sengoku Rance's No. 1 loved female character. Need I say more?), which makes me wonder if one of the producers of Eiyuu Senki was someone who seceded from AliceSoft. The art style itself reminiscence of it. If there's anyone who might know the actual situation, please tell me about it.
The difficulty curve is not so ridiculous as Rance games (good god who am I kidding the secret bosses in Rance are nightmares incarnation), and no grinding involved (unless you're trying to earn cash, which doesn't even involve battles - just click skip turn LOL), and the trick in defeating the 'secret' boss is very, very simple. Figure it out yourself. <3 The final boss is probably harder in my opinion, dealing 1-hit-KOs if you let her charge up 10 full orbs. Don't do that obviously.
The only fault would probably be NOT ENOUGH CGs and NOT ENOUGH SEX. Some girls don't get sex scenes even though EVERYONE has events, and it could be disappointing for some people. Raise a hand if you would like to bitch slap Himiko. Raise another if you would like to trade a Himiko sex scene for some other characters who don't.
And, there are some weird CGs where it looks pretty obvious LIKE A RAPE SCENE but described and told as pure love ones. It gave me a good laugh.
Aaahhh, anyone recommend some excellent VNs to read; I feel absolutely bored now that I've finished that game; I've already read through æ»ç¥žã®ãƒ†ã‚¹ã‚¿ãƒ¡ãƒ³ãƒˆ (Another excellent VN to read with top rated OST, though I wish it was longer) and could not find anything in the recent that could even match such quality.
Has Type Moon's Witch Holy Night (Is that the name? I forget) come out yet? It was delayed again and again...

Playing è¼å…‰ç¿¼æˆ¦è¨˜ 天空ã®ãƒ¦ãƒŸãƒŠ.
While the story is really, really meh kind of short (FD seems to get a lot of positive response though, once I finish this I'll check it out), from the walkthrough it seem to offer more than just your typical VN. Lots of endings and side routes (Intensely curious about the story - true route I guess? - I'll unlock after obtaining all 6 keys - which means I'll have to play 6 times at least >_>) to explore.

It's honestly a disappointing VN for a Team Baldrhead game. And getting the H-scenes is such a hassle and the result.. only foreplays with just 1 real sex scene....>_>
Wished the H was more like it's predecessors, I would love some more Hikaru. (This VN has too many LOLIs for my taste)
AND there's no teacher route~~~~
Agreed (Except the teacher's route =P). What's even harder to understand is that it's as if they want to keep the game below 18 (not even showing Ena in a bathsuit because

Finished Material Brave. It has a pretty addictive gameplay but has only a single common route; choosing which girls to go for only gives you a little more character specific scenes, 1 H-scene (Would you bloody believe it the previous 3 H-scenes you get before the final one are ALL FOREPLAYS AND NO SEX WTF) and chapter 14 ending (I think if you didn't go for any girls you won't have a chapter 14). The story wasn't bad and it opens up a path for a possible Material Brave 2, but I honestly think GIGA needs to get their shit together. Getting extra slots in the Engagement Board with my hard-earned Reputation Points and nothing else (I didn't bother checking whether I have a stat increase) does NOT make me want to play a second time. Moreover my items and equipments are NOT TRANSFERRED to the new game ++, and only 4 dungeons and no bonus dungeon makes the experience boring.
