NEEDLESS

One of the shows this summer that I surely will be keeping my sights on.
after the third world war, large contaminated areas known as “Blackspots” formed all over Japan. Large Walls were used to quarantine off these “Blackspots”. In time, signs of inhabitance appeared within these wastelands. Among the survivors who had been abandoned inside the Blackspots, labeled as “those who were unneeded”, came forth possessors of uncanny abilities — Fire, wind, brute strength…they were defined by their supernatural abilities. Others, fearful of their powers, expelled them and named them - - - Needless!
Unfortunately, there's no trailers whatsoever to show... (one shall immediately be put in here once words of it gets out)
Also, for those who are following the manga, perhaps they'd know better than me cause obviously, I'm not reading it at the moment. I've only tried a few chapters or should I say, a few pages, to see if this is gonna be worth it. And so I believe it is, at the very least, worth checking out esp since MadHouse studios is responsible for the series adaptation/production. I can already see the resemblance with Kamen no Maid Guy, and somewhat with Shaman King and Soul Eater; mainly for the similarities in (supernatural-shounen) genre/content. Lastly, there's a bunch of characters that's also something to watch out for. :D
You might as well check these out! (character images and profiles can be found there)

PS: My avatar that scared Das' ass off came from here. (I don't think it's that creepy, compared to either of tsujoi's or Shaggy's)

Looks interesting (That picture anyways) your avatar looks badass.
Sadly when I clicked your link I found a far more cartoony view of those characters which turned me off from the series :(

@Harmonian: Did you really believe in what you're saying?
Anyway, here's some of the characters from the series... For those lazy bums who don't even wanna look at the sites that I've provided.

And this image is what really struck me the most! This is most likely how the anime adaptation will look like. :D

GRANRODEO - "modern strange cowboy"
Needless★Girls+ - "Aggressive zone"
Needless★Girls+ - "Aggressive zone"
Checked out its first episode and it looked pretty decent all in all; nothing that really makes it stand out, except for its ED sequence - just WTF did that come from?! In any case, I'll be needing some time of getting used to with this series, that's for sure.

Looks like a combination of Yugioh and TTGL.
But damn the yuri scenes at the end theme and the opening sequence was awesome. Hope this will not be like the torch pass like Kamina did to Simon.

Another series I've been waiting patiently for.... I am posting a little moar in the anime section ur wondering maybe, well AX is over and now I have time to really enjoy what I've been waiting for, all the new shows nano desu ^_^
Now at first glance I was caught by the art work, the overall premise isn't wow enough for me, but after watching it, it reminds me off the typical 2 sides fighting each other with one labeled as good, the other evil. Usually plot twist should follow, moar interesting characters good and bad, etc I kinda felt like I was watching an old school anime, mainly cuz of the art at some points, but overall I really enjoyed this episode and look forward to the rest, Eve looks great, but I dislike her attitude and I believe my thought on the ED aren't needed nano desu

I like it so far, like someone said before, the animation reminds of Toppa Tengen Gurren Lagan. As for the story it's your shonen kind of anime in which the protagonist fights for the greater good.

All I can say is that this reminds me of TTGL and that the blue haired girl pisses me off. Over the top craziness while yelling EVERY attack in an epic way. It seems promising. Also, WHERE DID THAT ED COME FROM?!

Oh let me also add that I really wanna see cosplay for this series, the costumes for all the characters are just to my liking, I am rly hoping something pops up by the end of this show nano desu

Have seen it earlier, this time with subs and while I've got to say that I still wasn't too impressed, my initial doubts have vanished. Also imo, it was a little bit fast-paced although with that, it made it difficult for me to even blink and get bored from watching it.
I did enjoy it myself and I totally agree with how great Eve looks...
but thanks to her and her certain personality/attitude, the episode really shined through. Especially how she beats the crap out of Yamada "back and forth" and near the end when she just couldn't help but tease him. (who's this Yamada anyway, just wtf did that name come from?) and since her name is already so fuckin long, why not add "-sama" when referring to her!?

what makes you say that? you know how much I welcome your thoughts (or anyone else's for that matter); please do comment and elaborate if you may on the ED sequence. :D (I appreciate the gesture but quite frankly, I don't hate yuri that much to not want to hear anything about it)

watched episode 1 and it seems like it has a pretty decent storyline
the other summer anime seems kind of dry so far so i'll probably be sticking with this one
and yeah, does anyone get how the ED is related to the anime at all? my first thought was if the subbing group put in the ending of another anime by accident or something rofl

well for those that didn't notice, these girls in the ED are in fact pictured in the OP, around 1:03-1:08 nano desu, and as for the fact that this ED is full of loliful yuris, I can't stress enough, it's been a long time since I felt the urge to fap to an ED nano desu
Now we have the three girls nano desu
Setsuna - Saori Goto
Spoiler:
Mio - Yui Makino
Spoiler:
Kuchinashi - Minori Chihara
Spoiler:
Now of the three it's still a little too early to pick a favorite, thou the most loli looking of the three is Mio, thou voice is essential (thou even with knowing who is doing the voices it still unclear to me how they will do it), and Setsuna does have nice eyes, and upon further inspection you may notice that Ku-chan(idk what else to say besides Kuchinashi so i am going with Ku-chan till the series say something) looks like the one that needs the most affection, she's very needy and that is always cute in my book nano desu, some reasons that led to this speculation..
Spoiler:
thou the three of them together is full of win, I look forward to there appearance in the show highly nano desu

Fight scenes are nothing to write about sadly. I really wish they were animated better. The only interesting character shown right now is Eve and Blade to a lesser extent. She's the only reason I'll be watching episode 2.
