I don't think it's fair forcing people to not use a file host that they are comfortable uploading to. Not only do some people have trouble uploading to mediafire/megaupload/megaporn, they are also not doing any harm to us with them. Just because you hate uploading or depositfiles, doesn't mean that all the other people who download without commenting or leave a nice comment hate it. If you decide to include rapidshare/hotfiles in this removal, then all of jonavrek's marvelous uploads would be gone and he might decide to quit sharing all the great stuff he's contributed so far.
I'm just guessing, but do you people condone this banning because someone uploaded something you really wanted on to a shitty file sharing site and now you feel all butthurt over it because they didn't use the site that you wanted?
BTW, the only reason I'm using mediafire is because it's the easiest for me to work with, and it has good downloading speeds.

Personally don't mind those sites you mention, though as Rbz mentioned does it also include rapidshare and such? Also if possible can you list what are allow as file sharing sites?
I mostly agree with what Rbz says, just my 2 cents is I rather download from megaupload, megaporn, and mediafire; however, I don't mind other upload sites but I just hate the wait time because of download limit.

I think it would be better if you make people specify what file host they use in the topic title, just so people don't go to threads where people use file hosts they don't like.
Eg: Add '[MF]' for Mediafire or '[DF]' for DepositFiles to the beginning of the thread titles.

Well, uploading.com has some sort of scheme going on where the uploader receives a small amount of money every time someone uses their link, and I think depositfiles has a similar thing going on, too.
Personally, I think the only people who should receive money for these things are
1. The original manga author, and anyone authorized to distribute their work
2. The guys who host stuff, and need to cover server costs
3. Translators (though I work for free)
So, for me at least, DF and Uploading links rub me the wrong way.

If that is true, then I don't have a problem with jacob banning their use to keep the uploader from profiting off of fakku downloaders.

i am fine with using mediafire, sometimes i have issues with megaupload, but overall they arent that hard to figure out. And overall i have faster downloads with those sites as opposed to stuff like uploading.com, which also weird out on me and don't let me download more then one file a day.

If I'm downloading something, I much rather be downloading it from someone who is doing it simply to give it to you, out of the kindness of their hearts, rather than doing it so that they're making money.
It's like having no home to go to and one person saying: "You can live with me, even if I'm getting nothing out of it" and another saying: "You can live with me too, it'll help me make money." I'd much rather stick with the one who will help me without pay.
But that's another topic.
On the topic at hand, I don't think you should get rid of them or ban them Jacob. After all, as pointed out earlier, certain people (probably much more than just a handful) are providing their material to the community using file hosts just like the ones you mentioned. So by taking them away, it'll result in less hentai (or whatever it is being shared).

Even if the thing with the title isn't implemented, those who don't like certain file host should simply avoid using them. It's simple really. But I take it you must have pretty good reason to be banning them.

Another idea could be to directly upload it to Fakku and download off of that. I don't know how feasible that is, but I've seen other forums do that.

2. Problem with this is that without proper accounting practices it is easy for a site to hide profits, although this is not a very likely scenario.
3. I agree, to an extent, I agree because translators add value to the product, they should be allowed to colect some of this new value. This though opens a "hole", uploaders to add value, after all without them no one would be able to enjoy the value. I personally not mind seeing that someone makes a profit on anything I consume provided that i am happy with the deal. I am kind of on the fence about any ban since while I hate the time out I can live with it, the upside being that there is now a tangible incentive for uploaders to do their thing. Of course there is also the case to be made from this site's view in that these hosts cause a waste of site user's time and are a obstacle getting between me and my, enjoyment.
Where was I? Oh yes, if Uploading.com and or depositfiles banned I would hope that rapidshare would also be bant, I hate the site not for its wait period but its download limiting. You download one little dojin and somehow you've reached your limit.
Anyway I would support a marking of file host in a topic's title but beyond that if someone wants to download something from a profiting uploader then there is nothing wrong with that.

Yes do it please, ban all pay per click file hosts. They are hard to download from, and do nothing but annoy people

I'm all for mediafire, but not entirely against the other file hosts. Must have grown used to them. In any case, some of these uploaders have premium accounts who are reposting from other forums. However, uploading for the expressed purpose of profiteering, isn't something I'd want encouraged.
I say, require the file host tag on the title, and end it at that..for the moment.
And as a sidenote, what hosts would you prefer Jacob? Besides the very obvious mediafire.
