Toph Vs Gaara.

Me and FPoD were arguing about who would win...

I think Toph would win...

So, who do think you would win and why...?

Metal bending would prevail.

Toph can also sand bend. She's a broken character.

Toph has trouble bending sand.

Gaara can float in mid air making him invisible to Toph.

I'd assume Gaara would have more control over his sand then Toph, and would win in the end.

EDIT:the terrain that they fight in makes more of a difference for Toph as well as Gaara carries his sand with him.

As for Gaara just staying in the sky, she could raise a fort or something of solid stone, and wait, or start shooting out rock spikes in every direction...

I forgot about the mini city part. I was going off the memory of her not being able to see well in sand.

Shooting rock spikes relies heavily on where they fight.

Should we assume they are fighting somewhere specific that helps both such as a large rock in a desert?

Hmm well It wouldnt be fair to either of them if one had the upper hand based solely on the location, and Gaara can use the whole fucking desert (maybe) and toph would only have one big rock for protection, so I guess the best place would be a wasteland, right before you enter a desert, there is a shitton of sand, but also there's rocks...

The powers of both worlds are vastly different. Gaara would win. Yes, Toph has trouble bending sand. I mean gezz, Toph is like... 9 and Gaara is 16.

So given the conditions directly above this post, Gaara still wins.

Toph would sass Gaara into defeat.

I honestly don't know who Toph is or what show he's from. Now I'll check it out.

besides ability and technique, Gaara is a Direct guy, who'll use one of his strongest and most effective attacks from the start of the Battle.

reference Forest of Death, 2nd Chunnin Exam. Gaara uses sand to engulf them, and he can compress the sand, crushing them in the process.

It's been stated that Toph can feel the earth even if it's not touching the ground. How do you think she could avoid flying boulders?

Also, i'm pretty sure she won't miss a large fuzzy image of a sandwave coming towards her.

All in all, it really depends on where they fight

I blame Naruto's tech, not having that much metal.
Not their weapons but their buildings and such.

They pretty much have the same kind of modern houses that we dude.

And now I know. Besides, I did watch Avatar. Up till the Second Book that is. I'm re-watching it right now too. Episode 5 right now.

It's a well known fact that it's a basic for all earthbenders, not just Toph, to change the density of any earthen particles. All attacks heading Toph's way can potentially be neutralized no matter the magnitude.

Toph wins unless Gaara is able to pull out an attack unrelated to sand.

Also, Toph can sense airborne earth materials, so if Gaara decided to fly, she would know his location.
