berserk

fuck its awesome. ive noticed a trend with many racy mainstream manga, and thats to begin with a sex scene or something explosive as a phony gimick to pull readers in. never was i more wrong then this manga, it truly tops the best in my books. unfortunately the anime doesnt do justice at all... but i highly reccomend giving it a try if you havent already. whats your opinion on it?

I read all 30 something volumes over two days while drinking delicious caffeinated beverages. It was the best weekend ever.

Bring this dead thread back to life... This manga is just epic... That is all. Though I'm angry at why the manga is on hiatus. For those of you who don't know the reason:

The author has apparently bought an xbox360 and is too busy playing Idol Master to bother releasing new chapters... Fucking Guy... T_T

Abit off-topic buy apprantly I can't read berserk online at onemanga anymore. Anyone knows where I can dl or read the scans online. Will rep the person of cos for his time.

There should be a new chapter by 24th of April, so let's cross our fingers until then.

I came into the manga with little knowledge. After the first two volumes, the Golden Age arc seemed a bit boring. Awesome at parts, but boring. Then... without giving out too much... THE ECLIPSE. My god, the single most shocking, gruesome, unexpected twist to EVER happen in a manga. SON OF A BITCH. Up until that point, I had been reading at a sort of lacidasical pace, but once The Eclipse happened... suddenly I had read every single chapter published in under two days.

Very well written manga, with a wonderful cast of distinctive characters. The incredibly dark tone really sets the story and mood, letting the reader in on that fact that, no matter how peaceful a scene may seem in Berserk, something can, and WILL, go gruesomely wrong.

tl;dr - Best plot twist ever, epic manga.

But seriously, Guts is the man. That dude has more muscles than Arnold Schwarzenegger and Hulk Hogan combined.

Humongous-gigantic-mountain-spliting sword? Badass. Replacing his arm with a fucking cannon? Badass. Single-handedly taking on the forces of hell night after night without so much as a yawn? Badass.

And I love the art style. No green-haired, skinny, emo-looking main characters here. No, instead you have the poster boy for steroids. A man's man. MANERGY. ARRRGGGHH.

I usually wait a few months before I read this manga so its not just 16 pages and stuff. So I caught up to the chapter 306.

Reading it still...... I've got to tell all of you, this manga, is probally the best type of manga of its type(action). Its got pretty much everything. I seriously have no idea why its not more popular than it is.

Favorite manga series, ever. Though I have a fear that the author's gonna croak before he finishes this epic-neverending story.
