and so i decided to post this new topic about one of the most epic series ever made, which involves the themes of social discrimination, jealousy, child abuse, and most of all the values of humanity. While containing extreme graphic and psychological violence(the first eight minutes of the series is widely considered as one of the most violent opening ever), various nudity scenes, it's also mixed with the ultra-kawaii description of fantasied female character of the series, also containing element of horror, comedy, drama, romance, action, science-fiction, and suspense which separate itself from any individual subcategories of anime, giving off a complete new sensation to anime.
through the storyline of Elfen Lied, audiences are forced to face the inhumanity one specie has forced on the other for the sake of survival as well as the acts of racist segregation. I've seen and learn a great deal of things from Elfen Lied.
and simply, it's a masterpiece, I especially loved the ending which gives the audiences doubts to guess and imagine.(i won't spoil it for those who haven't watched it yet, but please do)

The Elfen Lied anime is awesome, the manga even more so, but I really don't like KÅta and Yuka's voice actors.

I'm on Episode 8 right now. Wow, I know the part on 8 was supposed to be serious and all, but I started cheering when those kids got what was coming to them. I felt bad afterwards though.
Poor Lucy. No wonder she's so messed up.
Also, I hate Kohta. I always feel like punching his fictional face every time he's on screen.

It was ok. I think it would of been better if they had waited for the manga to finish before making the anime. I got tired of the Nyuu parts...needs more Lucy.

Yep, bought all 13 episodes, its pretty good. And well uh about racists, I think you can find same thing irl too.... but a good watch, I agree.
The only negative is that it kinda feels rushed and cut short to fit in space of thirteen episodes limit you can feel it too.

Yes, Elfen Lied is very diverse and just about the things that gets me involved the most, evolution of mankind or preservation of current mankind.
I really wanted Lucy to bear a child, which never happened. The series deals with interesting themes for the possible future, when bioengineering possibly can give life diffrent value, and how one may deal with these issues. After all, it is not much different then humans killing animals, it is just that we need to consider what is to be considered human and not.
I liked the way the series dealt with these problems, and I disliked how it still never got to it. Preservation
As far as the manga has been scanlated, I start to get the feeling that these aspects currently have lost their place in favor for action. Stil enjoy it, thought, as I am a fanboy I "know" I will get better chapters to read soon.

Not for the Faint hearted.haven't watched it yet.kinda seems creepy and dark to me.well maybe sooner or later i will watch it.So this is where Lucy was from.

i have to say that this is the one that got me into anime and for all the time i have been watchin anime i have not come across another one like it to be honest it did make me cry at the end
they ould make another series of it because though i havent read the mangas i do know that nyuu/lucy is not dead

You know, I actually was bored to death by this series within the first five episodes. Granted there's violence and a lot of underlying recurring motifs and themes related to human nature, but I just couldn't get myself hooked to it, even for 13 episodes.

there was an ep that was left out of the us release....
it's very funny...
but before that....
dose any one remember when Lucy was wandering around in a days and she passed a random girl?......any one remember what she did?
she touched her with her vector and the random girls eyes faded out...
may be she (or her off spring) will come into play if there's another series made.....
