I'm currently waiting on episode 35.
When I first heard of this anime, I thought to myself that it was lame [I just read the eggs part and was like, WTF?]. But one boring evening I got around to watching it and it ended up being pretty good.
I haven't met any guys that like it yet but, I'm trying to get some into it. I find it such a cute anime in general.

Amu Hinamori is a student at Seiyo Elementary, where she has a reputation for being "cool and spicy"; however, her real personality is that of an extremely shy and easily intimidated girl. One night Amu makes a wish that she would have the courage to be reborn as her "would-be" self. The next morning Amu finds three brightly colored eggs—red, blue, and green—in her bed. Each egg eventually hatches into a Guardian Character: Ran, Miki, and Su. Guardian Characters are angel-like beings that aid a person into becoming their "would-be" selves and fulfill the person's dreams. The Guardian Characters accomplish this by giving encouragement and advice, but they can also temporarily change a person's personality and abilities. With the Guardian Characters, Amu's life becomes much more complex as she now struggles to deal with her new personalities and the Seiyo Elementary Guardians—a student council group where each member has their own Guardian Character—who recruits Amu to search for and seal the X eggs and X Characters, which are the corrupted forms of people's dreams.

I watch it. Obviously, I prefer the manga, because I really like Peach-Pit's art style. And Amu is one of the very few characters I turn into a lolicon for.

Yeah, I'm currently watching it.
It's a kind of a unexpected anime for me, like Zombie's case, I thought "Meh, another mahou-shoujo anime."
Then after I watch it, it's a worthy show after all.

I watched it cus the art seemed interesting. But the show didn't seem like it was going anywhere special after the first 13 ep's, so I dropped it and haven't watched it since. Depending on what I hear about the later episodes I may pick it back up, may not, we shall see!

I gotta start watching this again... I put it on hold when it was somewhere between episodes 6 and 10, because I didn't have much time to watch, but until then it was nice ^^

I started watching when it aired with Formula's releases last fall. I'm a fan of mahou shoujo and Peach-pit's work, so picking it up seemed natural. Every episode confirms my reasoning for doing just that. Still watching to, up to the currently standing episode 35 of the second arc.

I read the first two volumes of the manga and watched some of the anime, haven't had much time to do much else though.

I watch Shugo Chara! and I have to say it's one of my favorites. Amu is quite a cutie, and I like her personality. I'm only on episode 12, heh.

I really like this anime... Idk, something just draws me into it more then typical school girl animes... Unlike school days that got me sick after watching it... its prolly the unique charas...

Yeah, I hope it goes further then the 51 episodes - but I doubt it.
I just saw 37 and 38 the other day. Currently waiting on 39 being subbed. For those who didn't check the anime out yet, look it up on Veoh.com [Shugo Chara Episode 1].

It's not lame.
But if you're into action-type animes [fighting, etc]. Then you shouldn't watch Shugo Chara. It's more of a cute-drama type anime..

I imagine that changes somewhat as they actually get into the main story arc, but the first 13 ep were far too repetative and monotonous for my tastes, which is why I dropped it after that.

I'm a boy and watch Shugo Chara, I enjoy the cutsie feel to break up other mroe serious animes. For example while watching Elfen Lied I would alternate between the two to mediate the massive extreme violence with a little happy-go-lucky anime.
I picked it up because it was recommended over and over on crunchyroll forums as a favorite anime and haven't regretted it since.
but lately its starting to turn into a little more serious anime.
And Amu is the only character that makes me go Loli, SO DAM CUTE!
Ikuto/Amu FTW

FYI looks like this show is getting a 2nd full year of shows, so it'll at least run up to 100ish episodes now. I may pick it back up at some point just to see if it dropped some of the boring repetative monster of the week crap, but if it hasn't I'll probably still not watch it. Which is too bad because I think the art design and characters are really cute and fun.

I watch this show, I find it really funny at times and the serious parts are good too. At first I was skeptical, I'm not usually one for mahou-shoujo type animes (those transformation sequences are always weird...*shrugs*) But this one I can't help but enjoy and always look forward to new episodes.

yeah i just started watching it and loving it it reminds me a bit of karin but only in humor. seems to be a good show
(though i would like to see a amu x ikuto doujin but it looks like it isnt in the stars.)
on a side note why are these elementary students as tall as high school freshman?
