if you want to know what it is about:
it is about a kid whos parents are in debt and end up selling him to the yakuza, to escape this he pretty much tries to kidnap a girl and fails she also thinks that he is confessing his love to her. but then she gets kidnapped for real and he ends up rescuing her and then she makes him her butler.
that was pretty much a summary of the first episode

Outside of having (for a brief period) Santa Claus as a spiritual adviser, I found it rather blah. Maybe I've been spoiled by plotless non sequitur wonders like AzuDai and Lucky Star, but these days it's either got to be uber-classic hero series (Gurren-Lagann), dead-headed light series (Lucky Star) or hyper-edgy (Black Lagoon) to get me. Well, that or KyoAni work.

well i like it because of the over the top unessicary action the series makes over normal things if you have any idea about what i'm talking about. also the breaking of the Fourth wall, as well as the anime parodies.

I just watched the first episode and so far it seems pretty good. I'll start downloading the rest.
But I agree with unangbangkay, so far this season Lucky Star and Gurren Lagann are awesome.

i do watch this activly every week along with Lucky Star since it gets subbed right after Hayate does(though theyve been releasing it every friday) so far ive watched all 15ep and i still want more but unfortunatly after Lucky Star ends i prolly will rewatch that for a bit then get Hayate to move up to its lvl(i can try cant i?)

I personally love the series for the reason it makes everything seems like an epic hardship. 3 favorite parts sofar: When Hayate dawns a fake goatee, bandanna and sneaks around in a cardboard box. The part when the 3 schoolgirls are standing at the gate and the one psycho security chick says CRT monitor as 'Brown Cunt' and the tall schoolgirls goggling about it, was priceless. And finally the entire episode where the 3 girls got pulled into the wacked half 16bit gameworld and incho was lvl 99 and shooed the blob away with a stick.

Hayate is great but there's one part I don't get... why is Maria working as a maid if she graduated a really prestigious school at age 13???? couldn't she do much better for herself??????

everything is random (a talking white tiger FTW)
and Maria having such a background just adds more to her image
although some could be a little too extreme that it's not funny anymore: Izumi (was that her name? the girl who gets lost too often)
perhaps Maria has some kind of past...
