Macross Frontier Movie Announced

So what are your thoughts on it?

Will it be a musical?

I am very sure that it will be a musical, since it hints that their are three Macross Frontier Galaxy Tour concerts happening in October and November.

I think its pretty funny that this is a legitimate question.

I like to sing-a!

My question is whether it'll be new material, or it'll be a redo of some part in the series (Like the SnS movie was).

unknown, nothing is known except there will be a movie and that is all.

It'll be awesome... set 10 years after the events of Frontier, the surviving characters will be asked to come visit a school on the newly populated world where they present a "historical" musical of the events of Frontier as imagned as a Pirates of Penzance homage. While the main characters sit in the audience and talking and flashing back to those events, and the events post Frontier leading up to that point.

Then something attacks and Luca and Alto have to sneak off to fight while they leave Sheryl and Ranka to babysit the kids who starting asking direct and probing questions about their relationship with Alto while they sweat it out.

Things look grim until suddenly, Macross 11 appears, blaring Firebomber American music and saves the day... by accidently crashing into the flagship of the enemy and having to set down on the planet. Iris out on Ozma getting arrested for harrassing the "Imposter Firebombers".

So, there actually IS a musical? :lol:

Oh nice, looking forward to this one. And more music is good, the songs are strangely appealing. :P

A bit late but I thought a piece of legit info (taken from ANN) deserved a necrobump.

Turns out there will actually be two movies with the first being a re-edited series summary and the second, a brand new story. Since I was basically resigned to seeing a money-milking recap, the latter part of the news (accompanied by talk of a new soundtrack) really made my day.

The first movie is scheduled for November BTW and the promotional image made me drool.

Ohhh, I wouldn't mind a wallscroll of that. Anyway, the anime itself was really well done animation-wise, but how well do you guys think the movie is going to be animated. I mean yeah the first one is going to be a cash cow, but even then, I'd find it hard to make those mech battles look any better than the glossy works of art that they were.

and somethings that I can't spoil too. Atleast this, this is much more "HAPPIER" and up-beat.

-The VF-25 get's anew fighter Pack. Everyone knows each other from the start.

Well as long as it still have good music then i dont care even if it is a remake. Bring it on music culture!!!

False Songstress was wonderful.

Absolutely beautiful, both in art and animation.

And the new music was excellent. (and where the hell is the OST must have?)

And it focused on Sheryl, which is an instant win in my book.

...Yeah. The hell of it is, that's really it. It's Macross Frontier, minus the sucky bits, with the awesome bits multiplied by three.

10/10.

well, the OSTs are already released long before the DVD. So, I already actually got 2 "Sheryl" Albums from the Movie. Pink Monsoon and Universal Bunny (Go with Universal Bunny, it's more complete). But I haven't searched for the Ranka Album which is called "CM Ranka".

can't wait to watch the 2nd part next year.
